I have used Booking.com a few times and everything I encountered a problem with the accomodation they were never able to resolve it and would offer a £10 voucher instead which I find insulating. My last holiday was ruined with an accomidation infested with flies, I paid extra for a swimming pool only to get there and be told it was not working and my money was never refunded to me. Booking.com did nothing and refused to send me a link to review the accomodation. Once you complain you'll never be asked to write a review. Once your review is negative it never gets published I am not using them again.

Terrible service
After booking a cottage for valentines a month in advance. All confirmed. Money taken. Drove 2 1/2hrs and were told it was double booked. Stuck in the middle of nowhere, no signal or Internet. Had to find a pub to get signal. Took about 3hrs to find other accommodation. Paid and booked. Drove to it and was told that was double booked. Had to find and pay for a third accommodation which was 50 miles away. Luckily this wasn't double booked. Lost our reservations for valentines meal. Spent over £1500 on accommodation. Had no money left to go for a meal or drink. Was on and off the phone for about 9hrs to booking.com who couldn't care less. Told we'd have to wait 2-3weeks for our refund. Ruined valentines

I have used Booking.com for over 11…
I have used Booking.com for over 11 trips without any major issues, which is exactly why this experience is so shocking and unacceptable.I made a very expensive, last-minute booking less than 24 hours before my trip. The app charged my card immediately. Then it glitched. No confirmation screen. No reservation number. No confirmation email. Just an error message.Imagine wiring hundreds or thousands of dollars into a void and getting absolutely nothing in return. That’s what this feels like. Now comes the worst part: customer service. There is no visible, easily accessible phone number when you actually need one. There is no direct online chat. Messaging support claims someone will contact you “within minutes.” It has been hours. Then 24 hours. Then 48 hours. Silence. When you’re traveling in less than a day, silence is not a minor inconvenience — it’s a crisis. A last-minute booking error requires immediate human intervention. Instead, you get automated replies and false reassurance. If the app fails and you do not receive a confirmation number, you are completely stuck. No proof. No reservation. No clear way to fix it. Just money gone and zero accountability. The platform works perfectly — until it doesn’t. And when it doesn’t, you are on your own. There is no real-time support. There is no urgency. There is no safety net. If something goes wrong, you are gambling with your travel plans and your money. For a company handling high-value transactions and time-sensitive travel, this level of support is unacceptable. A booking platform without reliable confirmation systems and immediate customer service is not trustworthy.I cannot recommend Booking.com to anyone after this experience. If everything works, fine. But if there is even a small technical issue, be prepared for stress, uncertainty, and the possibility of losing money with no immediate resolution.Travel is stressful enough. The booking platform should not be the biggest risk in your trip.

Worst experience ever kn Booking.com
Worst experience ever on Booking.com, got error at the final stage of booking, money was deducted but got no email confirmation. Called customer care number, was on hold for 30 mins and when my number came, they disconnected the call. What a rubbish service. Really disappointed.

Very poor experience
Very poor experience. There's no customer service at all if things go wrong. I will never use them again. Avoid.

Bad customer service
Good when it works, but if anything goes wrong, customer service is plain useless.

Do not use this trash company
Do not use this trash company. All they do is take the cheap room that you want, they take an extra cut to make it more expensive and then you buy it at a higher price. They also love Israel and hate Palestine. If I could, I’d give them a -7 star stars. Just go to the website of the flights and look spend some time. Shoot, use Booking.com to find a really good rate. Write it down and then try to get that rate yourself spacing it out. You’ll save money.Do not waste your money or time on a middleman company like bookings.com or a racist disgusting company that won’t allow people to choose who stays at their Airbnb‘s.Signed, a very pissed off American

Paid for Business and made to fly Economy
I had booked return flights Manchester–Mumbai (April 2026) via Booking.com, for the 4th of April and back on the 25th of April paying a significant amount for Stretch Plus (Business Class) seats for myself and my children.IndiGo later emailed us and told us they have rescheduled the flight and downgraded the seats to Economy. After multiple calls, we were told the issue was with the booking.com We’ve paid Business Class prices but are now being made to travel Economy — through no fault of our own.I have been speaking and chatting to Booking.com for the last 6 days. I am always getting the same answer its been looked intoWe just want what we paid for, a proper explanation, and accountability.Giby Varghese

I would give zero stars if it was an option. Terrible customer service. Refund process is a joke. They will not give refund for any reason. I will never use them to book any hotel stay/vacation again. Stay away from this site!

I’ve been using Booking.com for years
I’ve been using Booking.com for years, but I won’t be using them again after the way I was treated on a recent trip Chiang Mai, Thailand. I’ve never seen such poor accommodation. I had booked a two night stay, but it was that bad I cancelled the second night and returned to Bangkok. I’ve since tried contacting them and they’ve gone deaf, dumb and blind, absolutely disgusting way to treat people

Properties are falsely advertised on…
Properties are falsely advertised on booking.com platform and once the money has been taken from your account booking.com will offer minimal assistance in receiving a refund. They will mess you about no end in an attempt to get you to drop the case. It’s borderline fraud. Think about a big retail platform starting with ‘A’ who arrange refunds straight away if their third party sellers mess you around. This is how it should be. Please don’t use booking.com, please don’t support them. Otherwise you are encouraging their disgraceful customer service.

Real scammers
I booked and fully paid for flights to Italy through Booking.com. The booking was confirmed, and everything appeared fine. Then, ONE DAY before departure, I received a call telling me the booking was cancelled. No proper explanation. No real solution. Just “contact the airline yourself” or cancel it.How is this acceptable when you have already taken my money?Since then, customer service has been extremely poor. They are not responding properly, not providing clear answers, and not resolving the issue. I am being ignored while my money is still with them. The lack of responsibility and urgency is shocking. When customers book through a major platform like Booking.com, they expect reliability and support — especially in urgent situations. Instead, I was left stressed, without a flight, without a refund, and without real assistance.Taking payment and then cancelling last minute without proper support is completely unprofessional. The way this situation has been handled shows a serious lack of customer care.I strongly warn others to be very careful when booking flights through this platform.

Terrible customer service.
I am a Genius member. Made a lot of bookings but only now realise how terrible their customer service is when something goes wrong. Their booking interface declined my booking, but then took the full amount for the transaction anyway on a non-refundable hotel. They are declining any responsibility at all despite the issue being with their software on booking. AVOID. I certainly won’t be using them again.

Amazing customer service, solved the issue seamlessly
I recently booked a flight, but i realized i had to cancel the ticket and change some details, customer support was extremely fast, polite and understanding. What was a mistake on my part, was fixed by the workers seamlessly. They made sure that the Turkish airlines would refund my money, and today all the amount was returned.I couldn't be more thankful, i even contacted them again during the trouble, and another agent was quick to respond, figured out all the details, and reassured me again.

luggage online
I made a request to add luggage online. I specifically requested to add 1 piece of luggage. It was all in writing. They sent me an invoice which I felt was expensive but these things often are so I paid it. I then noticed they were charging me for 2 bags. Despite the fact I never requested 2, they refuse to refund the difference saying now I had paid it was non refundableAdd to that the fact they lied and said I had never mentioned I wanted 1 and I had to request the transcript from the chat where it was written there for all to see. Simply staggering

Do not give these people a penny of your money!
I have used Booking.com several times with no issue, until recently. I had a domestic flight booked in January which was cancelled with about 10 days notice by the airline. Booking.com emailed to ask me to reply to the email, telling them whether I wanted a refund or to rebook. I replied, requesting a full refund. The next day they replied...with the same original email asking if I wanted a refund! This ridiculous farce went on for several emails, before telling me to contact them via chat. I was then passed onto about 11 "customer service advisors" who asked me the same questions, before transferring me to the next. I still do not have a refund and I have now raised a dispute with my bank.Avoid like the plaque. Incompetent at best, fraudsters at worst.

Car Insurance. Yeah right!
We hired a car through their service and took out the insurance. The car was supposedly damaged when we returned the car. The rental company accused us of the damage so we went through the process of paying for the repair. (still suspicious) Had to find the insurance claim process and then try to find it again to finalise the claim application and then after submitting the claim there was no response. Nothing, just crickets.

Zero Stars at this stage
Zero Stars at this stage, be more appropriate.I am not one for reviews but this is so frustrating, it needs ro be done.As a property owner I have encountered many different issues with them, but the latest is getting out of hand. The calendars accross different outfits like Vrbo and Airbnb etc are not getting synced properly, not even after days.I had to turn away 6 different guests, one of which had a husband in hospital, trying to find accommodation late at night. This was double booked if course with Booking.com being absolutely useless to get in touch with.Phone call take a good hour, mostly being referred from agent to agent, all reading of the script, repeating the explained issue over lengthy periods of time but then somehow managing to ignore the merit and turning a blind eye to the core. Then there is the explanation that I have to come up with any differences that need to be paid for the guest. Also the property description get AI enhanced, so my words get turned around, turning a small space into a spacious roomy room.No way to change it, unless yo< have the time to have a lengthy wait in line, bein& passed around and if you lucky don't have your call disconnected in the meantime. The preferred tool seems to be the hang up button of most agents and if you try to record, its. A guaranteed hang up.Frustrating, useless, unfortunately cornered the marked. Please use Airbnb or any local sites ideally, or host websites to get the best service!Don't line their pockets

these people are grifters
these people are grifters. basically will try to scam you and then site some obscure clause deep in the T&Cs. All could have been avoidable if they put some basic clauses up front, but I suspect they want to have an issue so they can charge you and only provide a partial refund. then their customer service, if you can get a hold of them, are functionally incompetent.

It’s a scam
It’s a scam. They will book a hotel for you, and then you get to the hotel only to find out it was never booked. And then will never give you a refund for not booking the hotel. Absolutely absurd
