Shoe, suede on sole coming off
I bought a pair of Barnes Lace ups that listed for $395.After a few months to suede on the soul of the shoe start peeling off, I called Allen Edmonds and they said they could not refund my money to send the shoes back for repair. I sent the shoes back and they’ve been sitting in their warehouse for over two weeks and no one has contacted me or called me, and every time I call they give me a run around. No one knows what’s going on with my shoes, you would think for $395. They would just replace them or refund me. So far, it looks like I’m not out of the money I paid, and no one seems to care at Allen Edmonds Customer Service.

Absolutely awful customer service and unbelievably slow and incompetent. We wanted to exchange a shoe size and there’s no option on the website to do so (why is it so difficult to have an exchange)? Customer service was hard to reach and when we finally got to them over the phone, they asked us to re order, but the sale ended. So they told us that we can order full price and they will give us a discount to match the sale price, which they messed up and over charged us by $50. We’ve been calling them again and again and they rarely pick up, it’s so hard to reach someone. First review I’ve ever left on trust pilot and just want everyone to beware how god awful their customer is. Funny enough, we actually tried to re order when the sale was still running, but the order got flagged as fraudulent by their nonsense AI tool, so that was an entire other headache fixing as well.

First time buying shoes off the internet. Ordered a pair of beautiful chilli red penny loafers that developed a slight tear along a seem. I asked if I could return because I thought the earlier stiffness in the vamp meant they needed to be broken in. Because this was outside the specified period for returns I absorbed the cost of the repair. I didn’t know better.When I wanted to buy another pair of shoes from them they offered nothing in terms of a price reduction or coupon code.Unhelpful and dismissive if you mske a mistake. Meermins offers a better value- lower price for same materials and construction.

I’m genuinely taken aback at just how many bad reviews there are. I ordered 5 pairs from US to the UK and everything was totally smooth. All pairs perfect, fast shipping, customer service accepted a return from an order I placed 2 years ago and credited me. I also want to add, I really know bad shoe companies. Go look at Axel Arigato - their customer service doesn’t respond, they decline refunds, they use glue that makes shoes fall apart. Allen Edmonds is nowhere near this kind of subpar service, it’s still an excellent brand and people need to seriously calm down.

Horrible Experience with Allen Edmonds – Never Again!I recently ordered six pairs of shoes from Allen Edmonds, and the entire experience was a nightmare from start to finish. I only received five pairs, so I called them to inform them of the missing pair. Instead of understanding, they made me feel like a criminal for simply pointing out their mistake. After waiting a few days, I was asked to fill out paperwork verifying I hadn't received the shoe. Finally, they issued a refund—but here's where it gets worse: they made me reorder the shoe online instead of just sending the missing pair! I told them I didn't want a refund, I just wanted the shoes I ordered. Apparently, that was too much for them to handle.When I eventually received the replacement shoe, it was the wrong color. I called again to inform them, and they told me I had to return the shoe, get another refund, and then reorder the shoe in the correct color! I asked when they were going to take responsibility for their mistakes, and their answer was to get me a manager. The manager, however, just repeated the same responses—completely unhelpful and unwilling to make things right.The experience was so frustrating that I lost my temper, which is unlike me. I felt like I was being treated as some kind of shoe thief even though I had just spent a significant amount of money on six pairs of shoes! The lack of accountability and poor customer service left me completely furious.I will never do business with Allen Edmonds again. They treat loyal customers like they're criminals, and the incompetence at every turn was mind-boggling. Avoid at all costs!

Great service from sales person. My 1 star review comes from a purchase on a pair of men shoes while on a business trip. I got a pair loafers, measured and fitted at California store. I explained to sales person my wish to have a pair of confortable shoes that I can wear while traveling for work and able to stand and walk comfortably. A coworker raved about the shoes and service so I decided to try Allen Edmonds.Shoes are very uncomfortable after 2-3 hours of wearing had to go back to hotel to change into another pair. Try to wear shoes for a second time same experience.Called customer support and that was an exercise in frustration. My disappointment is driven by inaccurate measuring and incorrect width recommendation. Can’t replace for correct width and only recourse is to have store stretch shoes for me. Store is located in another county from me. Never had issues with Ferragamo or Gucci, other Italian shoes. Honestly, I can’t shop the October sale or buy another pair of shoes from Allen Edmonds given my experience so far. Buyer beware, make sure that you purchase correct width…

Poor Quality and Bad Customer Service
I was a loyal customer for over 30 years. Allen Edmonds is going downhill fast and will likely end up bankrupt like Sears. Their product and customer service used to be second to none and now it seems that they could care less. Very sad. Don't buy their products!

Allen Edmonds is GREAT
I love Allen Edmonds. Shipping is fast and I love their shoes. Every pair of boots and shoes I have purchased has been more comfortable than any other brand I have ever worn. I know Allen Edmonds is an iconic brand and there seems to be some negativity thrown their way over product quality, but I give them a pass. Maybe it is because I am a newer customer and didn’t have much experience with the Allen Edmonds of old, but they are still better than their direct competition, especially in their price range. My only concern about the company is they use FedEx to ship and I have lots of problems with FedEx in general, but luckily my orders are always delivered without issue. I have read reviews about quality control and will say that there are some scuffs and markings on the products sometimes, but they buff out with a suede brush. I have only had one issue with a pair of boots that “broke” within six months of buying them. One of the quick lace eyelets came off. I contacted Allen Edmonds, shipped the boots back, and they refunded my money. That tells me they stand by their product. I have read reviews about issues with Factory Seconds being bad experiences, but the company clearly states that Factory Seconds are essentially the same as scratch and dent sales, and they clearly state they are not refundable, so they are transparent before the product is purchased. Allen Edmonds isn’t perfect, just like most companies, but I have ordered many pairs and my experience so far has been great.

Made in USA...shortcomings
I am a Made in USA guy. Right down to the shoe laces. I looked at a few options for semi-dressy boot laces. I came across Allen Edmonds. I ordered two pair and they charged me $7 shipping. The lace pairs were $5+ each. How good are they? I don't know. They sent them with the disastrous Fed-Ex who has recently delivered a few of my packages to some other house in some other town. Ordered these on the 16th and still do not have them on the 29th. They said today "they must be lost". They are ****ing shoe laces. Throw them in an envelope with $7 worth of stamps. But yet everyday I receive their emails trying to sell me some fairly ugly shoes...albeit Made in USA! I will stay with my Thorogood Made in USA. Of course Thorogood shoe laces aren't very good! They never last a season while their boot lasts me a couple years of everyday usage. AE refunded my purchase and said I should have the money back in 7-10 days. I guess there is a reason Amazon is taking over the retail world!!! *So now I write a additional revision since I go to the Post Office in the afternoon where I have a P.O. Box. And guess what I find on Monday afternoon in my box?! My shoe laces. Just like the usual nonsense that happens when dysfunctional retailers pair up with dysfunctional delivery services. So now I will call the retailer and sit on the phone for another 30 minutes...! Yet the tracking information never said that Fed Ex was taking it to the Post Office!! Especially since I live a mile down the road!!!!!

I wanted these allen edmonds strandmok blue soles so much. When they went on sale I purchased these at nordstrom. When they arrived I couldn't wait to open the box. Wow!!! After inspecting them they are the worst shoes I every bought. The heels are not same size. Also it looks like the sole on the heel on one shoe is running out. I'd never buy allen edmonds ever again... these are worth maybe $80.00 if that. I wish I could post pictures I would.

UPDATED: Originally included a 1-Star review below. It turned out they had actually shipped my item correctly. However, I received no confirmation at the time of shipping and their customer team kept reporting my product would be delayed and offered no solution other than it would be late. The product quality is very good. I still stand by my original sentiment below as the whole experience was quite poor.(Original Review:) Paid $50 for express delivery of an item which states 1-2 business days for product arrival. On the 3rd day I had to follow up to see why the item hadn't arrived and the representative said they will ship it out the next day. How is that express delivery? I would have gladly made this purchase elsewhere had I known that this company can't operate according to services they charge for. Now I won't have my outfit on time for an event. Disappointing, unprofessional.

This company has terrible leather to start with. My $65 Stacey Adams have less imperfections than the $500 Allen Edmonds I purchased. The customer service is deplorable.

Quality has really declined over the last few years
The quality of the shoes have really gone down hill in the last few years. Leather is not a good of quality as in the past. They use cheaper shoe strings now, not the wax ones on the dress shoes anymore. I contacted customer service and they said "sorry we'll let manufacturing know" Otherwise go pound salt.

Unbelievable. We ordered shoes that were supposedly in stock, and a belt, shoe polish, and shoe wax, that goes with the exact color of those shoes. All in one order.Allen Edmonds cancelled the shoes as they were out of stock, which would have been fine if they consulted with us about it first. But then they shipped the other products that are SPECIFICALLY MADE TO MATCH THOSE SHOES! Now we're going to have to go through the process of returning the accessories, which could have easily been avoided had they contacted us in the first place. How anyone could make such a witless decision is completely beyond me.

I have been a loyal customer to the Allen Edmonds Shoe Company for over 30 years. They had been the most comfortable shoes for me to wear all day as I stood on my feet most of the day in my profession. I presently have 21 pair in my closet. Since I have retired, I have purchased a few pair of the casual sneaker styled rubber soled shoes. On one pair the rubber sole has delaminated from the leather in the toe, and there is about a 1/8 - 1/4 inch gap between the rubber and the leather; it does not look good to me. Neither of the two other pairs have developed a similar gap. I sent the shoes back to Allen Edmonds for "observation" and I was notified today after being in their facility for over six weeks, that there is nothing wrong with them because the stitching was still in place, even though they look bad now and the rubber is delaminated from the leather. They sent the shoe back today after they sent to me their notification by e-mail. So, this pair is very poor quality and apparently they have quality control issues. It's such a shame as this company used to have a stellar reputation. I surely wish that I could post photos for the three pair of shoes for everyone to see ?

He was slightly friendly during my interaction. As we were browsing he went back to his cell phone. He was not rude, however, could have exerted more effort in providing more information and asking questions to promote the brand. He was not informative about the product and didn't appear to care about making a sale. In fact, the only reason why I made a purchase was because I was in need of this particular shoe. As a high brand, I would expect your representatives to provide high-end customer service. I observed trash over flowing from the day before. We arrived shortly after the store opened for business. I don't wish anything negative on your employee. A friendly reminder you never know who your interacting with. Thank you for your time.
