Snooty Customer Service, Vietnamese Production

I've had numerous encounters with Jenny in customer service and found that she has a terrible attitude. Unfriendly and unhelpful. There was an issue with free delivery years ago because the last part of my €200 order was a voucher. Apparently this didn't count despite the voucher's page itself saying free delivery on orders over €200, along withany other pages including shipping terms. The face the voucher didn't count was on some random blog post. She refused to reimburse me the €8 shipping, so I started a PayPal dispute and got it back there from another staff member. Even afterwards she was still complaining to me through email. Now, part of the shoe production is in Vietnam. I used to be okay with the higher prices, the shoe's requirements for self-care and maintenance, and the use of some plastics because they were locally produced in an ethical and ecological way. Now it's just another crap mass-produced shoe. Shameful.Edit: They tried to remove my negative review by claiming it was false and because I wrote the first name of the problematic agent. This is how they run the business now. It's become a larger more corporate shell of what I used to purchase from.

Maybe the shoes are okay

Maybe the shoes are okay. The return is very difficult. We got into trouble with the DHL link they sent and there was no one to talk to. Then we had to make an Express account with DHL. Then I was so nervous I wanted to cancel the size change and it wasn't possible on their website. And there's no one to talk to, it's all bots and questions and answers.

Disappointing

Fast delivery to the UK.But the sizing of the wellies (Ranidae) is poor. It says get your normal size, which is 43 for me. Looking at the sizing info (which is not comprehensive enough; I want to know the internal length of the shoe, which many barefoot companies give) I knew that would be too big though, so I ordered the 42. They are still too big; I had to put thick insoles in them (which makes them less barefoot, and they are already not barefoot enough for my preference). And the top edges rub my legs (through trousers) so much they are injured. I have to wait for it to heal before I can wear them again, and will have to find something soft to put around the edge of them to stop it happening again. Also it's a shame they're made of plastic. They should find materials that don't release microplastics as they wear out (you know, we already had a natural material that waterproof boots used to be made of...).The only good thing I can say about them is that they're waterproof (for now!).

Shoes started to fall apart after one day of wear

Really poor quality for kid's shoes. After first day of wear, threads started coming out of both shoes all around the soles. I have contacted customer service and all they had to say is "cut off the threads and contact us if the sole comes off completely". That is if you are still within the warranty time frame. You can't return worn shoe and get your money back and customer service will not replace the shoe even though it's coming apart a the seams.

My second pair of shoes from them and they are life changing.

I have bought 2 pairs of shoes from Wildling, the first was in 2022 and they still have many miles left in them. My most recent pair was their rain boots/wellies which I bought 3 months ago. I wear them as work boots, and they are literally life changing. It is the first durable barefoot style rubber boot that I have been able to find, and my work boots have been (until 3 months ago) my only pair of shoes that are not barefoot style. It also happens to be the shoes I wear the most, which meant my feet were hurting all the time switching between barefoot, and non-barefoot shoes.I really hope they will keep selling them and other styles designed for outdoor work.

Shoes and customer service that are above and beyond!!

I have suffered from pain and swelling in my feet and ankles for years. Once I found these shoes and started wearing them daily, the pain has improved beyond anything I could have imagined! If I go for a walk daily in my Tanuki shoes, I have almost no swelling. Recently I purchased a pair of Arni and when I put them on my feet, I felt such relief. The extra ankle support and (I did add) the wool inserts make them like little hugs for my feet. Finally, the customer service is better than any company I've ever dealt with in my whole life. If you have any problem, contact them. They are so happy to help and will find a way to resolve your problems.

When I saw the Fundois were available…

When I saw the Fundois were available for adults and kids- I got matching pair!!I got the shoes on my daughter’s feet and she was so excited with running around. I was able to get a picture of the shoes, she was so excited to tell people and some others noticed with great responses. I have really enjoyed wearing the Wildling shoes. All I wear are barefoot shoes. I do have a pair of the Fundo which I wear all the time and sometimes I forget I’m wearing shoes because of the lightness and flexibility.

Very good customer service they…

Very good customer service they answered my questions quickly and shipped fast with no issues. Love that the packaging was minimal, all recyclable, and eco-friendly.The shoes fit true to size, are super comfortable, and completely plastic-free, which I really appreciate. I also like that they offer the same models for both kids and adults, and have men’s and women’s sizes available for all models.

kids first shoes are not great

First, the good bit: they deliver quite fast from Germany to the UK. I made the order Friday night and it got delivered next Thursday.I got the Curijo (EU size 21, toddler's first shoes basically) for my child. The shoes are not that great because they slip too easily off the child's foot.I've been wearing only minimal shoes for a number of years and it pains me to admit this, but a pair of regular shoes will be better for very young kids due to their rigid backs. Also please note that Curijo is a thin canvas shoe for warm weather. Also there is an unpleasant moment about this company: after you've made an order, they start to send you spam from the same email address they use for order updates.

Cicle refox, Wildling highly recommend

I bought a Cicle refoxed in October 2024. You can feel the ground you are walking on. Amazing! We have a street with different textured stone, its so great to feel like walking barefoot. The shoes are just a few month old but it seems a really good quality, a shoes what you can wear for ages. I have different barefoot shoes also but Wildling gives the most barefoot feeling, like nothing on your feet. Customer service was 10 starts. I am a happy and satisfied customer.

Some Wildling sites (that include the country's name) are a scam.

There are cloned sites without customer service, it's a scam. If you had the name of your country on the site you used, you were scammed. I waited for a month, never got the parcel and finally found the website on a fraud list.

The french website is a scam…

The french website wildlingshoes-france is a scam. Do not buy on this website. I received a small parcel from China containing a stupid ring instead of the two paired of shoes I ordered. Of course, the money was taken from myk account. I am surprised that the actual wildling shoes company tolerates that such fake websites exists. I won't buy from the real website anymore.

Disappointed. There is an idea but it doesn't work

I ordered Tonuki Yoru shoes in June to enjoy them during the summer. After a small delivery problem that was well managed by customer service, I received my order. I found the finish rather beautiful when I opened the box. However, in use, I was quickly disappointed. The insole slips and suddenly the shoe quickly becomes uncomfortable. The rubber of the soles is fragile. On humid days, they are unusable. Finally, I wore them without socks but they would have to be washed often which is complicated. I thought that by buying German shoes I would have a high quality of comfort. The price is very high for what it is (Japanese tabis are infinitely more solid and especially cheaper). I do not think I will buy them again. This is ultimately the problem of direct purchases on the internet without a real store. If I had seen and touched them before, I would not have bought them. Thank you

Amazingly a really good shoe

Amazingly a really good shoe. Ok, they are REALLY thin - I was out in nature somewhere, and a spike will go through the sole. But they are really good for your feet, I have done hikes around Greece in these, and they are light and good, and actually have a nice grip on the rocks. I personally don't like the higher/boot models but the sandals and low shoes are really good. (I've had a few at this point). Love that it's all made in the EU and company supports environmental projects.

Shoes fall apart after less than a month and they refuse to take responsibility

Edit: After posting on here and social media, they revisited my claim and acknowledged that I recieved a faulty pair of shoes as the outsoles shouldn't be peeling off after a few walks. Wildling provided an amicable solution and were able to resolve the issue. After owning these shoes for less than a month and only wearing a few times, my shoes began to fall apart. The outsole of the shoes started peeling off after less than a month and they placed the blame on me. Claiming I must be "stumbling" and "tripping". I wore these shoes A FEW TIMES walking and the outsoles started peeling off. They told me to glue me shoes for "sustainability". I'd argue that manufacturing a shoe to last longer than a month is more sustainable. Also, they said that if I did glue my shoes that I would be responsible for any damage that would occur from glueing. So their solution involves ruining my shoes even more and they can't be held responsible? Why not manufacture shoes that last longer than a month? For the price tag of $150, you'd expect better quality.I've worn barefoot shoes before and never had I experienced such atrocious quality and customer service.Avoid! Scammy and horrible!

I bought Medlar 42 with wool insoles

I bought Medlar 42 with wool insoles. I have used them for about 2 years now so i think i am qualified to give an honest review. First of all it's an hate & love experience wearing them. The love side of them is that the overall design is superior and brilliant in a sense that they are super minimalistic and at the same time fullfills the requirements for a heavy duty shoe that keep your foot warm and flexible. I live in sweden and sometimes it reach under -25 c° and i have walked on pure icy roads in -20 c° wearing wool insoles and summer socks and it is impressive. The hate side of the shoes is that they are narrow. There is little to no difference between regular shoes and wildling shoes on the overall width. Only the toebox shape is different but the width remains the same which makes my toes non flexible and makes my toes colder than rest of my foot because of the restrictive movement. That is sad because 80% of the shoes is sooo good and so well designed but unfortunately everything falls because of the restrictive toebox and everytime i walk in them is pure joy except that my brain constantly thinks about my toes being claustrophobic. The downside of the shoes is sadly to big for me buying wildling shoes again. It is sad because the design is so great and the quality is really good as well. I really hope they could make a version with a wider toebox and not just unisex shoes. Males have generally much wider/bigger foot than females. I believe many people use barefoot shoes for the health benefit rather then design. So for me personally and many others, people dont mind if the shoe "look" wider. So my primary message to wildling is to start produce versions with wider toebox. Me personally wont buy another wildling shoe again until they have wider shoes to choose from. It is sad because i really really like them except they don't give me the health benefit and the feeling i could have right now wich made my buy shoes from other brands even though i wanted to buy wildling shoes. I hope in the nearest future they rethink and adapt theire shoes.

Unexpected charges - why add postage to the value of the goods

The shoes I bought are really very nice, just as the pictures on the website. But as others have said the website is misleading about UK import duties and taxes. The website says those apply to goods above £135. My shoes were £132, but Wildling unexpectedly added the cost of the postage to the value of the goods. I had to pay more than £68 in taxes and duties. Had I known I would have asked relatives to receive them and bring them over next visit. Also all the links to maintenance products are broken, so we cannot buy the stuff needed to impregnate them.

Burned feet

Wow. That went wrong. I just burned my feet. I live in a hot climate in Colombia… asfalt is 50-60 degrees Celsius… no way you can walk around in these shoes here.Same shoes can be handmade for 1/4 of the price here.Edit after reply: If you agree that the shoes you produce don’t fit higher temperatures (it is not about my sensitivity, feet are just not protected, and that’s what shoes are about), please refund me or at least write it on your Website.
