Working with Christine was the key to realizing our family dream of living in Spain. When moving to another country, there are so many details related to school, visas, and housing that are difficult to understand because of the language barrier and regional norms. Thankfully, Christine's expertise allowed us to focus more on getting to know our new home, and less on logistics and paperwork.
As others have said, Christine's help was invaluable. Besides handling the paperwork for our residency, finding a physician, and even suggesting cultural events, Christine helped us find an apartment, negotiated the lease (firmly but graciously) on our behalf, set up appointments, and even got us out of a tricky and mildly embarrassing banking situation. She is patient, warm, efficient, effective, and the voice of reason and calm.
Christine has been an incredible support to us before, during and after our relocation to Granada. Her knowledge and expertise have proven invaluable as we navigated deciding on a school for our children, negotiating a lease on our rental, obtaining our resident permit and even buying our car! She has always been so patient and kind and we appreciate her optimism and outlook. We could not have made this big life changing move without her (or at least it would not have gone nearly so smooth).
Christine found a fantastic apartment for us in Granada, and gave a lot of other advice along the way about the city, visa issues, and health insurance. She's done the same for other ex-pats I know. She is knowledgeable, efficient, and easy to work with. Her fees are very reasonable, too.
Christine was a HUGE help to our family as we transitioned to Spain this fall, assisting us with school placement for our daughter, our apartment lease, our NIE application, and numerous other details like finding after school activities, helping with medical appointments, even getting us the right SIM cards for our phones. YourYearInSpain’s services are very reasonably priced, too — I wish we had discovered them earlier so we could have tapped Christine’s expertise when we were applying for our visas (instead of hiring the expensive immigration lawyer we used). She is knowledgeable, responsive, and a pleasure to work with….thank you Christine!
