Let the Buyer Beware
All About Doors reviewAfter talking to customer service to determine the appropropriate part to fix the broken locking mechanism on our french doors, we were surprised to find that the part we were sent at the cost of nearly $400 dollars was the wrong part.Of course I read the return policy which said the company "reserved the right" to charge a 25% restocking fee, especially if the part was custom or damaged in any way. That makes sense. "Reserve the right" covers the company from fraud or losing money. It does NOT mean "in all cases, we will charge this fee." If that is the case with no mitigating circumstances, it should say so. I have received full refunds before from other companies who also "reserved the right" to charge restocking fees, but who waived the fees considering the timeliness and condition of the returned items.I sent the wrong part back at the cost of $20--pristine and repacked better than it was sent.Since it wasn't a custom part and there were zero problems with it, I assumed that they would refund my money, especially since we had to buy another part to fix the door.Nope. We were charged nearly $100 for them to open the package and put the part back on the shelf.Do not expect that this company will always send the right part and be prepared to be gouged when you have to return anything, even if they are the ones who did not send the correct part in the first place.Sadly, I see this is a pattern from reading other reviews about this company.Let the buyer beware.

SCAM
I believe the company is trying to run small scale scams on unexpecting consumers. Haven't received product, and they wont refund it either. They say Marvin hasn't reached out to them, but I was able to easily get a quote for my parts from Marvin before this company was ?? yeah that makes zero sense.

Stay away from allabout doors
I called them for a replacement part for my French doors. It needs a new locking mechanism and I was told that the brand and model i have is no longer made and I had to switch to a different manufacturer. The woman I talked with claims 13 years experience and is an " expert" in multi point locking mechanisms, what i got showed me anything but that. An expert in sending out the what item. Not only did the top and bottom latch not line up correctly, the top latch was 10 to 12 inches lower than the original, but the whole set was a good 6 inches longer than the door. Then she went to accuse me of measuring the door wrong and all the other measurements as well. I build houses for several years and have worked various job thru my life time where measuring things was the main part of the job. I know how to measure plus I measured everything not once not twice but three times to confirm that I was giving them the most accurate measurement possible. I am still fighting but now they know my phone number and recognize my number and refuse to answer the phone. She knows she screwed up and refuses to make thing right I highly recommend everyone find another company to do business with and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ALL ABOUT DOORS. They don't know all about doors but know all about how to send you the wrong part then rip you off. I am now looking at hiring a lawyer and take them to court to get my 350 bucks back in full plus lawyer fees and court cost and then some for this aggrevation.

Purchased Recommended product, wrong product, charged shipping and 25% restocking fee to return.
I contacted Customer service to try and find a part for my Milgard Sliding Door handle that needed to be replaced. They first recommended a part that was not the correct part, so I sent additional images, they then recommended another part. I purchased that part based on the representatives recommendation. I paid for faster shipping. It was supposed to arrive on Thursday, it did not arrive until Saturday. When I received the handle, it was the wrong item. I contacted All About Doors & Windows to return the item, they refused to waive the 25% Restocking fee, although it was their representative that recommended the wrong part. They said the only reason he recommended the wrong part, was because I asked in a previous email if that was the part. So, not only do I pay for shipping both ways, but I also have to pay a 25% restocking fee for a product that was wrongly recommended by their representative. The product was great, but there was nothing else about this company I could recommend.

Replacement parts for old door
Searched their website for replacement lock parts for a 20+ year old PVC door that was otherwise in great condition. The specs provided for products allowed me to easily find the correct version for my door. The order was processed and shipped promptly. The parts were delivered in a solid package strapped to a wood board to prevent possibility of damage during shipping. Could not be happier with the service from these folks. Highly recommended
