I got personal family problem in mid of my internship. My family needs me during that time. I could not even think to complete my internship without Allen School help and big support both sides even from internship too. They understand my family problem accordingly completed my internship. I have left job site due to family need. They were offering weekends though too missed. I am really appreciated from core my heart.
staff is very supportive! they go above and beyond to help their students
My experience with faculty and staff has always been extremely positive. The Brooklyn and Jamaica campuses are student focused. I enjoyed the interactions between students and staff. The curriculum including internship prepares students for the real world.
Allen School has been able toAssist thousands of students complete their education. The programs are career-focused and allow students to graduate in less than a year ! Great school.
Great School with a strong reputation in the Medical Community. Over 60 years of assisting students who are looking to launch a great career. Faculty is knowledgeable and understands the needs of the healthcare industry.
This school has been a pillar of the Brooklyn/Queens community for over 60 years. It is nationally accredited by the Council on Occupational Education and licensed by the New York State Department of Education. The program is very short compared to other schools and many of the administrative staff has been there for over 10-15 years. They are very supportive and do a great job!
As a single mom I wanted to do anything I can to proper in the desired field . I inquired about Allen school . There recruiter was consistent with high values of the school . Not mentioning that it not accredited , you do not get a degree , you cannot go to another college and continue your education ., what’s done in Allen school cannot conflict on a real college and won’t be counted . You have to pay 45$ a week with financial aide or get kicked out . I fell behind as a singleParent still completed allClasses and internship . My certification was not released to me because of the balance I owed the school . I earned that certificate. So when I went job hunting NOONE WOULD hire me without a sealed certification the balance was $820 . On topOf 12,000 student loan from Great Lakes . Everything sounds so beautiful when you enroll even when u attend ! Please be aware of your future . The Allen school is not a college that professional even heard of before . Please get a understanding of your future before enrolling . Understand u cannot continue your education in a college with Allen school experience . You will need toStart over . I never got myCertificate because money owed never not once had a job as a MA . Literally hadToDoFront desk for not having myCertificate at hand . Terrible2013 graduate !!
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU APPLY.I attended Allen in 2011. when I applied the lady was super nice. But it was found out later that she was told to say whatever she needed to to get me to sign up. I wanted to learn this medical coding program to be able to work from home. She told me that yes this was the place for that. I was told by her that Allen, upon graduation will give you everything you need to set up an at home office and that you will be working for many offices. they will send you the work and you just have to type it in. I was sold. About halfway through the year I was then told that no, we don't set you up with everything you need but that we will place you in a job and that they will give us on the job training for 6 months then they will set you up to work from home. Ok I guess that makes sense. however, the last week there they dropped the ball on us. they said no we do not help you with anything like that. we only give you training everything else is on you. Not only have I not found a job, but even if I were to be able to find a job. What they trained us on (ICD-9) was phased out soon after we graduated. The class had asked if we should learn ICD-10 but we were told that they would not change to this code for many years. but everywhere I looked they had already begun to transition. This is not a school to get involved in. I am over 10 years into this student loan and I am paying for a waste of time and a mistake.
This is a great school. Although COVID did minimize the days I could be on Campus I feel prepared to start my internship. The teachers and administration have been kind and helpful.I am really looking forward to succeed in the Medical field.Thank you Allen School!
I attended this school many years ago when the M.O.A. course first started at Montague St. However, it sucks up your financial aid as if they are real college and you need to pay the difference or take out a loan. It's not an accredited school. When you ready to go to college you can't use any of their credits. You have to take classes over, costing more time and money. The Allen school should register themselves to be accredited then making you waste your time in earning credits that you can't use or transfer to a real college. They should be honest that they are not accredited especially when you are young and have no clue! If I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have done it!
This school is bad and unprofessional. This school and the people who works there just want money. For instance ; Intership site sucks and they send you anywhere even if you uncomfortable and location .This school doesn’t cares about no one except money and they promise it find you a job after program completed and can’t even get a job as yet .They are fraud also according to New York State department of education.i have gpa 4.0 and still can’t get a job and you have to paid extra money to go state test which should required by the school not us going by ourself .do not go to this school .
The staff at Allen School is very approachable and caring
I’m so happy attending this school! The teachers r perfect, an they do they best to make us learn 👍👍👍
The Instructors at Allen school are very kind and helpful. They help you understand the concepts ,and go through with you as a class. The school needs to start having tutoring section instead of lying about , “of course, there’s tutoring.” Mostly students struggle and I recommend there should be enough staff that has the time to assist students after school.
I Love The Allen School And I Only Been There For 2 Weeks.
My Wife took on-line classes for medical coding and that was 6 years ago and still has no job in her field. A waste of time and money. No help with job placement. Still paying on student loan for her. When she has gone for interviews people look at her like "where is Allen School"? Never heard of itStay away from this school--broken promises and no help in finding a job.
I love it here. I find it easy for me to stay focus, it has a loving environment and I have so much help here.
I like the experience with allen school because is a great opportunity for me and my life and the future.
Very nice staff, al instructors give extra specific attention to what we need to study for the exams. Love all instructors
