Great Program for Aspiring Software Engineers!

I highly recommend Coachable to anyone who is looking to start their career in Software Engineering. I used Coachable when I was transitioning from a career in finance to SWE. Before Coachable, I was self-studying, taking online courses, using textbooks, and working on a couple personal projects. This all gave me a good base of knowledge, and Coachable was the right next step to prepare me for the job market. Here are the primary reasons I recommend Coachable to others in a similar situation:1) Coachable will keep you focused. There are seemingly infinite different paths one can go down when studying and preparing for coding interviews on their own. Before starting with Coachable, I struggled with either spending too much time on a specific topic or getting distracted by doing too much at once. Coachable provides a clear schedule and curriculum that makes sure you focus on what matters, and that you don't move past a topic until you prove that you understand it.2) There's no replacement for 1-on-1 mentorship. For me, by far the biggest benefit of using Coachable was the opportunity to talk 1-on-1 with my coach (who was a current SWE at a big tech company with 3 YOE) multiple times a week. When studying on my own, if a concept didn't immediately click for me, I found it difficult to seek out and find a different explanation online that did resonate with me. I would spend lots of time reading the same "tutorial"-level explanations, but if I had a specific technical question I needed answered to unlock my understanding, I often couldn't find it. When I started with Coachable, I noticed the pace of my *actual* learning increase exponentially. What I was missing was the instant feedback-loop from being able to discuss a concept with an experienced engineer. With that feedback, if I was not understanding something (or worse, misunderstanding something), I could immediately have that corrected by talking it through with my coach.3) Live coding practice. In addition to reviewing the curriculum with your coach, you get the chance to have frequent live coding practice. My coaching sessions would often start with a short coding problem based on the curriculum I had recently covered. For me, it was very helpful to practice coding in front of another person, explaining my thought process as I worked through the question and the solution, and receiving feedback at the end. With sufficient practice, this can go a long way in improving your performance in actual coding interviews.4) Career focus. Coachable understands the job market and understands what skills employers are looking for. Before Coachable, I was reacting to skills I would see listed in job postings, trying to cast to wide a net for myself (back-end + full stack). With Coachable, I was proactive about the skills I was learning and I stayed focused on preparing myself for a back-end role at a tech company, which is what I truly wanted.5) The payment structure. Unlike a bootcamp, where you could invest thousands of dollars upfront with no assurances of it leading to employment, Coachable does it right. They get paid if you get a job. That is the right way to structure a program like this, and it helps lower the barrier to entry.

Great for kickstarting a professional network

I went through Coachable from mid-2022 to early 2023, and I strongly believe that they have the resources to land students in good positions even outside periods of economic downturn.I think a lot of it relies on the student being proactive, both in studying as well as networking within and without the program, but if a student puts in the effort, then they should be more then capable of landing interviews and offers from their target organizations/industries.

I had the best experience at…

I had the best experience at CodeBreakers! The typical new grad interview process contains leetcode and behavioral. They are awesome in both areas and helped me to get offer from Amazon and Meta. I will start with behavioral, which was the hardest for me. Although I took a CS-related master, I didn't have CS background before. I was suffering from imposter syndrome and not believing myself can get a job. Coach Peter helped me a lot with behavior interview. He gave me a lot insight of the industry and let me know it is ok for a new grad to know little. And the most important thing is confidence and how you tell your story. Peter is really good at finding the good qualities of you and make you get your confidence back. And with the technic he taught you, I believe you can conquer every behavior interview. In terms of leetcode, I know you have to put A LOT effort in and it cannot get better by just talking. But a good coach can help you do it more efficiently and hopefully more enjoyable. That's exactly how I felt with Coach Robert. He came fully prepared with all the information you need. You can put all your effort in just doing leetcode. They also do the BEST mock interview. You can get familiar with the procedure and not being nervous during the real interview. One best thing about Coach Peter is that he always encourage me and acknowledge every small progress I made. Everyone in CodeBreakers genuinely wants to help people and you can definitely feel it. I had the most painless job hunting experience with CodeBreakers. Highly recommend to anyone wants to get a FAANG level job!

Highly recommended. Read this review twice.

Codebreakers is one of the top, career accelerating firms in the US. Whether you are just a fresh graduate about to complete your degree, or an experienced professional in the software industry, codebreakers has much more to offer you than you can realize. I started with codebreakers mentorship program about 6 months back, and worked closely with highly experienced coaches and industry experts to prepare myself for FAANG interviews. Technical skills required in interviews for top software companies are very demanding, but codebreakers would help you prepare for every aspects of those interviews. The reason why their mentorship model has worked so nicely for me, as well as for lot of other mentees is that, rather than just fast tracking you through the "essentials course", they make sure that they understand your current skill level and give you a personalized pathway, which is destined to set you up for success. You can schedule infite number of mocks, learning sessions, career coaching sessions, with more than 15 highly skilled coaches on any time of the day, based on your own availability. Not only you'd be successful to get that most desired job like I have, what you'll learn in codebreakers would be helpful for your entire career, like the people skills, technical and problem solving skills, and decision making skills that you'd acquire working closely with the mentors. Coach Darek, Coach Serdar, and Coach Peter have been very helpful to me during my time at codebreakers, and they still are and I'm sure they'll be in future. This is your chance to be a part of great community. And, by the way, if you are also finding it difficult to secure interviews with top firms, look no further, and come onboard.

Where to start……

Where to start…… I was looking for job opportunities among the FAANG companies, then I came to know about the CodeBreakers headed by Darek Johnson. To start with Darek, he was one of the coolest person I had met. He helped me to go through the process and molded me until I received an offer letter. Raghav was the other person who helped me. At last I want to thank Darek, Raghav, Anudeep and others who all helped me out. It was a wonderful experience.

Highly recommend for anyone who wants to break into tech industry

I would highly recommend CodeBreakers for anyone who wants to break into the tech industry. I connected with CodeBreakers when I had zero internships on my resume and was very stressed about recruiting for tech. CodeBreakers helped and guided me take the necessary steps to land an internship - my mentor helped me brush up on my interview skills and offered super helpful advice for my full-time job as well.

The best!

I joined CodeBreakers in December 2019 and it was the best decision I've made. I was fortunate enough to meet incredibly smart people through the course. The Coaches are great and they went above and beyond to get me ready for the interviews. I found the CodeBreakers community a close-knit group where everyone is willing to help out each. Also, they have unparalleled career coaching and support systems. I was able to land a job in a major technology firm thanks to CodeBreakers!Definitely recommend it to anyone who is considering joining. It is well worth the time and effort.

Great experience!

I joined CodeBreakers in 2020 as a CS master student and had a great experience with it. The weekly meeting with my coach Stephen helped me improve my CS fundamentals and technical skills. Our coaching sessions covered the knowledge of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and system design. He's very knowledgeable and supportive and guides me through the right path and become better at them. The mock interviews were also helpful. I can easily schedule mock interviews with coaches from FAANG and other companies. I really gained valuable feedback that helped improve my performance in the subsequent mocks. Coach Darek and coach Peter were always responsive to answer my questions and gave me advice on the interview preparation, the job hunting, and even the offer negotiation. With coaches' help and support, I got an internship offer at Google this summer.  After that, they kept working with me and making improvements. Eventually, I got new grad offers from Google, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, and Oracle this fall. Without CodeBreakers, I'm not sure if I can do it. I would definitely recommend CodeBreakers, they really care about you and want you to succeed.

Good experience and new job!

I am very happy after 6 months of working with my mentor. Of course, it requires you to work hard but with your work and their help you will likely get a new great job. That was my case. They helped me with technical interviews but also gave me some advice about negotiations. If you are a software engineer (or similar) and you want to join one of the biggest tech companies in the world, I recommend this service.

Highly Recommended

I joined CB in the year of 2020 as a new grad. I was very struggled to find a full time software engineer job because of the pandemic. I joined CB after graduated from college because one of my friend highly recommended CB to me. My coach and I scheduled weekly mock interviews which covered CS fundamentals, data structures, algorithms and behavioral questions. I used to easily get nervous during technical interviews, but after so many sessions of mock interviews with my coach, I became more confident because I felt much more stronger for my technical skills!

Follow their guidance and you will succeed

I'll be honest, working at a big tech company was something I didn't even dream of as someone who didn't even major in computer science. A friend recommended Codebreakers to me. Though skeptical at first, I told myself to give it a shot. Now here I am, with an offer from Google. Working a full-time job while studying was a challenge, but the structured curriculum and the amazing coaches made the process so much easier than what it could have been. The coaches are very knowledgeable, as they are engineers already working at these prestigious companies (Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc). They know exactly what to expect from potential candidates, and how to become better ones. They will guide you down the right path on how to ace these interviews. Read through the lessons, ask for help from the coaches, and don't give up. With a bit of effort of your own effort and the guidance of Codebreakers, anyone can succeed.

Soo Helpful

I was coached by Serdar, he was an amazing mentor would walk me through problems and encourage me to have mock interviews and 1 on 1 meetings with him every week. Explained complex algorithms and shortcuts. He added his personal experience and struggles through his interview experience which helped me gain confidence and comfort throughout my journey.

Great for preparing for interviews.

If not for CodeBreaker I would not land a job. I enrolled with CodeBreaker since very early on. The resources and content constantly get updated and each version makes it better for preparing for coding interviews. I really like the Leetcode review manager that they offer. Another best thing was the mock interview I have weekly with Coach Alan, which really helped me become more vocal in interviews (which the actual interviewers really loved about). The coaches really care about you and they constantly check up on you in Slack and help recommend many jobs as well.

Great Interview prep

Got some very good tips for interview, learnt python in practically 2 days so well that I could immediately code leetcode mediums in python (had prior experience in java). This was a boost for me since coding in python is at least 2x faster than that in java. Really well defined course structure and details. Very nice and respectable people.

Life changes got in the way... it didn't matter thanks to CB

I had some life changes get in the way of my hiring pursuits at first, but a year later, just a mention of an upcoming interview was enough for Derek to hit the ground running in offering assistance. I got the job I had only day-dreamed about before.
