I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from Cove Insurance.My case manager repeatedly avoided my calls and emails, causing unnecessary delays in my claim and leaving me without clear communication or progress. This lack of responsiveness added significant stress to an already difficult situation.While I was living in Wellington, Cove arranged a replacement vehicle for me to collect in Timaru, which is on the South Island. This decision was completely impractical and demonstrated a serious lack of attention to basic detailsMy insurance policy did not cover a rental vehicle, yet another error!After I clearly cancelled my policy and stated that I did not authorise any further payments, Cove still deducted money from my bank account. This should never have happened.Despite raising concerns through normal channels, no meaningful action was taken until I escalated the matter and wrote a formal complaint directly to the CEO. Only then did I receive a response, which speaks volumes about the company’s internal processes.Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Cove Insurance. The poor communication, administrative errors, and need to escalate to the highest level just to get action make this a company to avoid.

I have been with them for 2 years now. I have contacted them about small details on renewal and they responded quickly and clearly. I havn't made a claim so cant give any details on that.

Was a customer for 7 days. Contact them on the webchat, said I had registered to do UberEats deliveries (hadn't actually done any yet) the Rep canceled my insurance... not sure why I didn't have a choice to continue the policy and not do UberEats, such a puzzling experience.

They trick you with low cost to start...
Was happy at first, thought I had found a reasonable insurer then after only 5 months with them they increased my premium by 25%. I have never made claimed on any insurance and this is triple the amount of their claim of it being "due to inflation". Just another rip off. I wish I had stayed with my previous insurer.

Tried to get a quote online - waste of my time
Tried to get a quote online. Went through the lengthy application only to have the application declined on the last question "have you ever had insurance application declined". Answered "yes" as I had 32 years ago. Didn't request any details - if they had I would have explained it was those scumbags at State and the only reason for decline was I had made a claim. Obviously Cove are no better than State so probably beneficial I don't go with them.
