If I could give them 0 stars I would
If I could give them 0 stars I would. I've had pet insurance on my 10 year old with another company and had no issues. I decided to try Figo when we got a new puppy. They have horrible customer service, denied the claim and didn't respond to email, calls or text.

Awful Pet Insurance!
I signed up for Figo because it was affiliated with Costco and I thought they would provide great service because of this. However, it takes a very long time for claims to be processed with no communication about the status of claims or if more information is needed to process a claim. You need to follow up on your own. I was carrying another policy because most insurance companies have a 6 month waiting period on certain procedures. However, I did not know this would affect the coverage on eligible claims I submitted with Figo. When my pet passed away unexpectedly, Figo would not cover ANY of the expenses because I had another policy. I didn't expect the full amount to be covered twice, but they could have at least covered the difference so the entire amount of my pet's final care was covered. I am VERY disappointed and will not be recommending Figo to any of my friends with pets.

their coverage is far more limited than what many other pet insurance companies include as standard
My experience with Figo has been consistently disappointing, mainly because their coverage is far more limited than what many other pet insurance companies include as standard. Important items that should be basic — like euthanasia coverage and after‑care/disposal fees — are not included unless you pay extra for multiple riders. It feels less like comprehensive insurance and more like a base plan with a long list of upsells.Another major issue is how Figo handles emergency vet visits. They do not automatically cover emergency exams unless the veterinarian is willing to certify that the situation was “life‑threatening.” The problem is obvious: you don’t know whether something is life‑threatening until the vet actually evaluates your pet. This puts pet owners in an impossible position during stressful moments, and it’s not a requirement I’ve seen with other insurers.Figo insists that all of this is “clearly explained,” but in reality, the only place these limitations are spelled out is deep inside the policy documents. Their coverage summaries and marketing materials are written to sell the policy, not to help you understand what’s actually included. You have to dig through pages of fine print to discover what’s not covered — and there’s a lot that isn’t.Overall, Figo feels more like a sales funnel than a transparent insurance provider. If you’re looking for straightforward, comprehensive coverage without hidden exclusions or required riders for basic protections, I would strongly recommend looking at other companies first.

Figo is a lifesaver
We have a high maintenance dog with a lot of vet bills and Figo has been a lifesaver for us.

Easy to submit claims
Easy to submit claims, though there was a delay when I needed to reopen a case (due to lack of documentation).

I am so grateful to have this pet insurance, and I urge anybody with pets to get it. The app is super easy to use and submitting a claim is very simple. They also always been very responsive anytime I had a question.

Figo is professional and caring
We found the process of submitting claims easy and the quick response quite timely. Also, the understanding of the situation at the end was caring and helpful.

Second year of having FIGO and I must say I am very satisfied with my policy. The claims take approximately 2 weeks to process and the coverage is great.

I unfortunately had to file many claims recently. The process of filing claims is simple. When more information was needed, it was clear and concise. I have spoken to reps on the phone and they were polite and answered my questions. Reimbursements were done in a timely manner. I am very pleased with Figo. It's not something I had hope to use, but happy that the process was simple and allowed me to provide care of our dog. She's a 8yo GSD and had a severe injury to her front leg (extreme carpal hyperextension) and then 3 months later had a emergency splenectomy and diagnosed with cancer (HSA). Having Figo has allowed us to provide care to give her a longer quality of life.

Fantastic Figo!
I've been so pleased with the coverage we bought, especially since I'd never had pet insurance before getting Scout and wasn't really sure what to expect. It's really easy to upload receipts and open a claim. We've had no problems or issues at all since buying our first Figo policy. She's had a few injuries and health hiccups here and there, and Figo has helped immensely with making sure we can get her the care she needs.

Want it to cover preexisting conditions? Forget it.
They seriously don’t cover anything that they have the right to deem is at all related to a “past illness”. Like if there is a tooth issue once they don’t cover a tooth issue 3 years later?? That is completely unrelated. Another ridiculous insurance company.

Easy to work with and compassionate
I have had this insurance for my 2 dogs for about 3 years. my Bernese Mountain dog had 2 CCL surgeries back to back last year and Figo was so easy to work with and file a claim. We had no issues at all. Then my Bernese was struck with a rare, aggressive cancer and we lost her 2 weeks ago. Figo not only paid for all our claims but also sent a lovely sympathy note when I reached out to cancel her policy.

Reimbursement is quick and convenient
Reimbursement is quick and convenient. It's so nice to have good dog insurance and it's reasonable especially since it's more affordable then our insurance it's terrible. Thank you for being their for our fur babies. ❤️ Kimberlee Ann & Blaine Boyd

The policy documents are misleading and…
The policy documents are misleading and over state what's covered - for instance vaccines say $50 for all the basic vaccines "per incident". This means if you're like most people and have your dog vaccinated for a few things in one visit, they only pay the $50 once and not for each vaccine. This is one example of many. They are super shady.

This is a scam - beware of actual costs!
Horrible experience. First of all, my policy states that I have a “$500” deductible and am reimbursed 70% AFTER the deductible has been met. However, what Figo fails to mention is that if the first appointment is greater than $500, they remove the deductible after the 70% reimbursement has been applied - essentially making the deductible 30% more than they state (unlike all other Pet Insurances I’ve come across as well as how the average Health Insurance is applied - I work for Medicare so I am well aware how human health insurance works). So in all, if using Figo, be aware that the deductible is much higher and in my case, $650 rather than $500!(For reference, spoke to Insurance Agent License: 4431168)

Figo came through when our dog got sick
We have had Figo for our Havanese Poodle mix since we got him as a pup. We had never had to make a claim until our dog Asher, now age 7, suddenly developed a scary autoimmune disease that caused his platelets to plummet (ITP). Asher had to be hospitalized for several days and needed a blood transfusion and various other medical procedures. The hospital bill for him was significant and so we filed our first set of claims, hoping Figo would come through. We have been so happy with their service! They covered substantial portions of the claims in a timely fashion. Once the claim is processed, the money is deposited right into our accounts. We are so grateful that we chose Figo when Asher was a puppy. It has given us tremendous peace of mind knowing that we were able to do everything possible to save his life. I’m happy to report that Asher is being weaned off of his meds and is doing very well. Figo continues to cover the ongoing costs.

Predatory-their caps on reimbursement…
Predatory-their caps on reimbursement for well checks are ridiculously low and well visits do not apply towards deductible. Ripoff
