SCAM
As many have stated, DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. The prices for the hotels are significantly more. The customer service is horrible.

I cannot believe that such a website even exists. I was never able to using, it never works properly. How can a company launch such a product that is impossible to use?
100% SCAM! Had an issue with a booking so tried the customer support page which listed two different phone numbers to contact for help. Both numbers lead to Expedia customer service who won't touch anything to do with Global Hotel Card or any of their reservations, despite Global Hotel Card listing these numbers on their own customer support page! Was only left with email option, not great if you need on the day assistance, and turned out that was equally abysmal. They told me, in writing, if the hotel agreed to cancel without charges they could process a refund. So I went ahead and contacted the hotel who happily cancelled my reservation with no issues, charges etc. I sent all this correspondence to Global Hotel Card, as per their direction, and guess what!? NO RESPONSE! They've legit done a runner with my money and there's no way to contact them to dispute their terms. Surprising to see scam companies still being able to operate in the UK.
Hands down the WORST 3rd party hotel booking platform.Ancient website that works maybe 1/5th of the time. 24hr turn around for customer support which is email only.Hotels are MUCH more, the same hotel on ANY other website is going to be at least 20% cheaper. DO NOT REDEEM OR BUY THEIR GIFT CARD, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!!
I am going to take legal action, but essential this company is scamming people. I bought a gift card that didn't work (if you read other views many other people have had the same issues) and I contacted them after having technical problems on site, so I couldn't complete my booking and now they are refusing to issue a refund even though their troubleshooting steps didn't work.
Do NOT buy this gift card. If you have any issues there is essentially zero customer service to help out (sorry but an email account that takes 6 hours to respond doesnt count!). This company is awful. I'm going back to my company's rewards program and going to petition that they remove this as an option.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Firstly the website looks like it comes from the 1990’s and it has the functionality to match. For example, when searching for a hotel the ‘view map’ feature has never actually worked on my screen. As a prior reviewer said the costs are always SIGNIFICANTLY higher than other booking sites, which would be easier to accept if the experience of booking with them was smooth and the customer service was exceptional- as it stands it’s a rip off.I have had an issue with a booking and it turns out the only way for me to contact the agency is via email. It has taken two weeks of back and forth communication where responses take days and not hours, and I still do not have a resolution. I’m due to stay in 5 days and as it stands I’m quite convinced I may actually lose my money (~£150) as a result of this slow service.
The price advertised (£253) was lower than the hotel was quoting direct (£261), so I took advantage of a 10% discount offer through my employer, where I can buy £250 worth of instant Globalhotelcard e-voucher for £225. So far so good. However when I got to the checkout, there was a "tax recovery charge & service fee" and a "property charge" which added £52 to the quoted price, making the total cost to me £277, 5% more expensive rather than 10% off. Clearly the tax line is nonsense as we don't have to pay such charges in the UK other than VAT, which is included in the direct hotel quote. Avoid.
Terrible company to deal with and extremely expensive.Received award points from work that could be exchanged for a variety of things including gift cards. The whole Global Hotel Card thing is completely flawed.Firstly the hotel prices are significantly higher than anywhere else and although it says it's powered by Expedia, they are NOT Expedia prices for example: 6 nights stay:Room booked direct with hotel £1600Room booked with booking.com £1700Room booked with Expedia £1750Room booked with Global Hotel Card (apparently run by Expedia?!) £2200So it's a complete waste of 'money'.The card also comes in denominations of £50, £100 and £250 and so I exchanged points for 9 cards to cover the cost of the holiday already frustrated that it's costing £600 more for a 6 night stay but accepted this as I was using bonus points gained at work I essentially had for free. Now for the really ridiculous part-the website only allows you to redeem 4 gift cards per booking!!!!!!! You can contact the company on the website via an online form and there is a drop down of topics including specifically 'combine cards for higher value' - great, I can obviously combine my cards to higher values to allow me to use them for the whole booking - NO! Despite having a drop down specifically for combining cards, it's in the t&c's that this is not allowed - what on earth????!!!!Hopefully work will allow me to cancel the point redemption and I can use them for a reputable company like a Currys card where a £250 card is actually worth £250 and you're able to actually use it!They also advertise to 'log in' for extra 10% off - this doesn't work and the overpriced price stays the same.Worst company I have dealt with in a long time and ruined the excitement of thinking I could treat my self to a holiday a usually couldn't afford after saving points for nearly 3 years.
My wife received a payment for long service and put the money onto one of these cards via her company. The card is advertised as Expedia which is who she thought she was dealing with. When we tried to book a hotel through Expedia the card would not be accepted, so we realised we could only use the Global Hotel Card. When we used this card, the cost of the room was the same as Expedia prices except that Global Hotel Card added another £78 in taxes for a property fee and a tax recovery / service fee but not until the payment page (her long service payment was £200) so 39% of her payment would be stolen in taxes. In the UK we pay the price of a room advertised that includes VAT as any other taxes such as this are not charged in this country. It's strange that Expedia that backs this company do not charge these taxes on their websites. The taxes this company takes from customers in the UK is essentially stolen because the company trades in the UK and the taxes they charge is not expected by HMRC. I have now had problems recently with loosing money with Booking.com. (£650 lost on car hire) Globalhotelcard.com and Expedia which either owns or is involved with all of them and others and all essentially steal your money and hide behind terms and conditions. My advice deal with hotels and car hire etc directly. They may cost slightly more but you won't get conned but you will have peace of mind.
