** AVOID AT ALL COSTS - DISHONEST **Long saga of a story but in short do not deal with this company they will take you money and not deliver. My specific case involved lies upon lies around a return for refund. I ended having to keep 2 incompatible items that they advised would work together.Valued at around £5k, from memory. This all happened a few years ago.I used a section 75 claim but it failed and they took the money back as I was using the gear for business and not a consumer. :o(Anyway regardless of the specifics these guys cannot be trusted I would caution any one considering buying from them to go elsewhere… anywhere!!!! CVP, EBay..AliExpress…Car Boot sale… just don’t buy from HPreston.

where do i even begin with this company ordered a canon eos r100 bundle great price and the mrs needed a new camera was told 2-5 days for postage ok cool . Camera came quick no tracking not a issue if u have nice neighbours now i waited a week to see if rest of stuff coming didnt so sent them a email just asking what was going on had block capital mesaage back will look into it i thought bit rude but ok gave it another week nothing it took nearly a month and atleast 60 plus messages back and forth recieved rest of the stuff i was promised but was sent from amazon confused but whatever i personally wont be shopping here again due to the lack of communication and unfriendly staff

There seems to be a common thread regarding many of the reviews on here. For any one reading these reviews, Please take note - this company and it's owner are dealing with fraudulent activity. The responses from John Preston, on all the negative reviews are the same. Here is an example of his many fraudulent quotes "I suggest you contact your bank and do a section 75 as the funds have ben taken form my account many months ago"It is the responsibility of the merchant to make sure the funds have been returned to the buyer if the item they purchased never arrived. In this case a £2500 tripod system. After having taken over 6 months for this item not to ever arrive - countless emails and phone calls later, we asked for a full refund. He then asks us to contact our bank for a section 75 or any other kind of payment dispute. The bank cannot proceed with this due to a 120 day policy. H. Preston / John Preston will not provide any evidence that he has actually made the refund. He will not provide the evidence because he never made the refund.Do not trust this company. Small claims / Ombudsman will be in touch.

My advice is to AVOID this company.They state they are a dedicated supplier of high quality items and service. They constantly say they put their customers satisfaction first. This is not the case. Having placed an order over 18months ago for a Sony Camcorder I still have not received the item. Having contacted the shop by phone and email I have been constantly assured that my order is being worked on and that there were supply issues - which was true at the start but now the cameras are available at many suppliers. H Preston have taken my money - several Thousand Pounds but have yet to supply the Camera and lens ordered stating issues from Supply to health problems and issues with their bank. They supplied a USED second hand loan camera worth a lot less than the camera I ordered, to get me working as I had a client waiting for a shoot but it was not the camera I had promised, and my client were not overly happy.The customer service is basically non existent as the shop cannot make any decisions without referring back to John Preston and he will reply with a standard email stating they are working hard to get your order, or a story regarding they are having issues of some sortregarding their health, shop, or fundsAll in all this shop should be avoided at all costs. They take your money,and then go quiet. I get regular emails from their mailing list to say the camera I ordered is available but when pushed they always state it is not in stock - I advise you as a customer to not deal with these people and take your buisness to a reputable company elsewhere.These people STOLE my hard earned money and are avoiding any responsibility at rectifying the situation. After many promises of solving the issue I am yet to receive my ordered camera or a refund. There has been no real effort made to make this good. Do not get caught by this buisness, you will only be dissapointed.

REPORTING TO TRADING STANDARDS!!!I rang up to check if the listed price was correct on their side too. They said it was the same as I could see.I bought the item, got confirmation the payment had gone through. Told my niece I’d have it to her by next weekend. For them to then email me and say it was listed wrong and their error but I needed to pay more. I told them I rang up and confirmed first and could they please honour this sale as it was their error. They proceeded to cancel my order, trading standards will be contacted!

The Worst Customer Experience I have ever experienced.
Where to start. I'll save the long story, but after 15+ years of purchasing broadcast equipment I have never had such a bad experience. Ordered a Sachtler Flowtech 75/Activ 8 back on 14 May. Have been fobbed-off every step of the way regarding shipping date / refund date etc and I've been forced to do a charge back for £2699 with my bank which gives John Preston until the end of August to further keep hold of my funds. Save yourself no end of trouble and avoid like the plague. I've had to order the same item from CVP which has left me somewhat short, and cumilatively three months of interest on an item that never arrived x multiple purchasers could be a tidy little earner for this said company.
