Requested a refund July 2020 after…

Requested a refund July 2020 after reaching out about them not honoring shipment and before that had been asking about it since May 2020. Should leave bad reviews and complaints on all platforms for a company that didn't honor it's promise to those who supported it and the company who took over, profiting and growing on the money we pledged that some slaved their sweat and tears for just to witness Ogarden act like nothing happened. It's despicable and they were wrong for sayin go through the card servicer when they knew it was far past the time people could recoup their funds.

8 months of good production

Well, I got to confess that my OGarden has gave me the kind of results I was looking for. It arrived in a bit more than 1 week. I took about 40 mins to assemble it. Works just fine. Quiet. Got started with my plants the same day. It has been 8 months now and I love eating what I grow with it. Being used to gardening I stick with leafy vegetables though. This seems to be the best use for this kind of product. If you go for tomatoes or peppers... well it takes long to get not that much. All my friends think that it looks wonderful and I think the same. Just good experience up until now. Wanted to let you know.

Motor and some light went broke after…

Motor and some light went broke after few weeks. No answer of the company for long time. After several months and many attempts to contact, they had some excuses why it would take some time to return the product. Was never able to return the product. Then heard about company bankruptcy. Now they seem to sell again, but I have a broken product which I turned to trash after 1 year of feedback of the company after MANY attempts!

I work in a school...needless to say very limited budget. We obtain special funding and we bought 2 O'Garden. One is not working and the other works so so. We have contacted the company within a year (warranty). They sent us a manul to fix it ourselves... WHAT??? One does not work at all. Tried to contact the company and no answer. Now no more warranty. 3200$ in the garbage. It's too bad. The students and I really like an interior garden.

My personal experience with OGarden

Well, I met a girl about 2-3 years ago that bought an OGarden and she showed me the machine in her living room. It looked great, she was satisfied… but later on I heard that she had problems with the bearings and the machine started to make sounds. She got some free spare parts from the company, the problem was quickly fixed… and she kept growing cool things just beside her TV…Anyway, this got stocked in my mind. I thought to myself that maybe one day I will have one myself too.Reading here and there, I found that the company had been bought by a new administration and I contacted them directly. Yes, I confirm, the former company got in financial trouble because they had quality problems and the customer service did suffer for a wile because of all this.About 6 months ago, I wrote to them many times because I had questions and some doubts about the machine and always got some fairly quick and good answers from their customer service. I spoke to Simon and Edwin and they answered my questions very well. They corrected the components that were making problems and what they sell now is the improved version, they told me, without the former bugs the previous machines had.Understanding their warranty (within one year from purchase date, if there is anything that is a problem with the machine, they send you brand new parts for free and instruct you how to change it with email, pictures, videos or we could get a full refund if not satisfied), I finally jumped in and decided to buy an OGarden myself. The machine came in within 5 days and everything was great. Except the fact that there was a little scratch in the front left door at a place where I could see that the carrier slightly broke the shipping box. Not a big deal, but I did not fully appreciated it. I took a picture, send them to their customer service, got a quick answer from them and I did receive a new door about a week later with email instruction on how to change it. Unscrewed 2 little screws and place it back… worked like a charm.I’ve been using the machine for about 5 months now. I think this is fantastic! Plants grow very easily and quickly inside the machine and it se beautiful to see all those vegetables growing in their last stage into the wheel. And it is very fun to go get the greens and make a super fresh salad on the spot, knowing it did grow into the kitchen!Yes, I have to add water into it about 1 time per week and once I wanted to travel for a duration of about 3 weeks and had to ask a neighbor to come and add water. Also, adding a water fertiliser into the water gives the plants a great advantage. I think I’ve made my fresher salads ever since I have it. The taste is fantastic.Well, up to now, I give them a 5 star. I’m very satisfied of my experience and I’m glad I bought it. If this changes, I will let you guys know.

I ordered my ogarden in July 2022 on…

I ordered my ogarden in July 2022 on ogardensmart.com . The order was shipped in 4 days and I received it 3 days after by UPS.When I opened the package one of the side panels had been cracked (probably by the shipper since there was damage on the side of the box).I contact their support team via the support email that they provide at the order shipment confirmation and one of their support members (called Edwin) takes the case and sends me a new side panel in a matter of days and meanwhile assure me that the ogarden can fonction with a damaged panel until the new one arrives.Overall great experience and I can recommend their services.

OGarden is the worst company I have…

OGarden is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. My equipment came in damaged and I attempted to work with them to fix it for two months. When it still would not work I told them I no longer wanted my machine and to pick it up and credit me. They have lied in their communication to my credit card company, so now both refuse to pay me back, even with solid proof of all of it in our email communications. I am now out $1,253. This company is completely unethical and the equipment is not well made.

I bought my ogarden in May of 2020

I bought my ogarden in May of 2020. I was told that the unit was not configured correctly and the water tube flooded the computer board the first time I plugged it in. I have to purchase a replacement as it’s now out of warranty yet I have a string of emails with no response pre warranty expiration. I have tried to get a tech to take a look at this and figure out how to fix it but they cannot get parts for it. Spent over 1k and have never been able to use it. Go with a different solution!

I love it

I have recently gotten one after wanting it since the Kickstarter period, and I absolutely love it! It takes very little effort to have a large yield. Just a few nice minutes a week. The build quality is unfortunately cheap, but it works. Once in place it's fine, but to transport it is a huge risk. For the next model i hope there is significantly improvement in building materials. Still, lots of factors weigh up for that minor annoyance. I can now grow 90 vegetables in less than a square meter and it looks amazing! No pesticides, herbicides, one time plastic or transport. Also, a bag of 1.000 salad seeds are practically free, and at the grocery store one salad is about USD $3 here in Norway. If you can get one discounted it will pay for itself in a few months, if you eat lots of vegetables.

Doesn't work well

Doesn't work well. I also bought this on the Kickstarter so I have been trying to grow anything for a significant amount of time. There are better indoor gardening options. So far I have only gotten one bunch of usable basil trying to make this work. It arrived with a broken basket that was never replaced. I never received the full first order of all the growing pods. Two of the LED panels didn't work from the start (did manage to get one working by having an electrician fix it). The cultivating tray sags so not all pods get water and requires hand watering. The pump is now not watering the wheel. The pods are expensive and there are no alternatives on the market. It's not a viable or economical solution to fresher produce. You're better off shopping organic at the grocery store. If you want an indoor garden get a few pots and put them on your windowsill. I did end up purchasing the 360 cups for almost $300 to give it one last try, but it will be the last try before I send the whole thing to the landfill. Which sucks as the idea was to be more environmentally friendly, not less.

The OGarden Smart has performed beyond my expectations. It is really fun to watch the plants come up and see the whole process from the comfort of my office. Customer service was also fantastic. I would recommend the OGarden to anyone, especially if you have kids!

Not Worth It!

It's a neat idea, but doesn't really follow through. It's way overpriced for what you end up getting. I backed this on kickstarter so I've had it since about end of January 2020 and for less than what they're asking for here, and it's still not worth the investment. Consider it a loss. The delivery was MONTHS behind and it arrived not only broken in the shipping process, but with wiring that was done improperly. A wire that was supposed to be attached was unconnected and the sheath it was in was SEALED SHUT. We had to snip it open and connect it ourselves (thankfully, my partner has some electrician training). We've been using it for between 1 and 1.5 years now, so we're out of the warranty stage, and wouldn't you know, in the last few weeks the light has started flickering and the water doesn't pour itself. We're been trying to fix it ourselves but today, it just stopped working entirely. I don't even know if I want to bother calling/emailing in because their customer service was so HORRIBLE last year. They only got back to me when I threatened to sue them for collecting my money and not delivering a product. It's cheap and plastic and will not stand up to the minimum demands. It might be flashy and nice to think about having something that you don't need to remember to water, but just get yourself a tray and a light for 200 bucks, because this product will fail and you'll be buying extra lights and watering it all yourself anyway as soon as the warranty ends.

Let me start by saying that I am not happy to give this bad review.

Let me start by saying that I am generally happy with my Ogarden Smart. While it now creaks incessantly, I have not experienced the mechanical problems that some reviewers noted with the initial release. My wife and I have genuinely enjoyed the ease and convenience of or Ogarden Smart since we purchased it about a year ago and a half ago. Had Ogarden invested a dime towards customer service I may have been writing a 4 or 5 star review. Unfortunately they seem to have let this part of their endeavor slip as they transitioned from a great concept to Kickstarter project to retail offering. We purchased our Ogarden Smart pre-Pandemic and were delighted with our initial results. At about 6 months in, just after the Pandemic hit the US, I placed an order for more seeds using my account on their website. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an inventive personalized order confirmation within a few days of placing my order. It was creative, and considering the current circumstances, much appreciated. After 90 days, I emailed customer service through the website to notify them that my order had not arrived. I received a canned response that shipping was delayed & tracking information was unavailable due to COVID, which had already been noted at the time I placed my order. At 120 days I contacted CS again, as my order had still not arrived. I received a response instructing me to dispute or stop payment on the charge to my credit card. Of course the payment had already been processed, so this was not an option available to me. When I notified Customer Service of this I received no response. I continued to try and contact them for several months to no avail. At about 9 months from placing my order, my account name & password were no longer functional on the website. This was frustrating not only due to the lost order, but also as I had actually purchased a grow unit and my account was no longer being acknowledged by the company. While this was all occurring, a fastener on one of the grow trays of my Ogarden Smart broke. I was unable to find a replacement part on either their US or international website, and received no responses to my pleas to Customer Service for assistance. Eventually I joined the Ogarden group on Facebook, in the hopes that someone would be able to assist me in purchasing a replacement tray. Once I was approved to join the group, my request was quickly responded to be someone who seemed to be associated with the company. He gave responded that he would search through his spare parts (assumably from trade shows conducted during their Kickstarter campaign). I never heard from him again. At the time I purchased my Ogarden Smart, I had also taken advantage of their sale on additional peat pellets, and I now find myself approximately 18 months in, and needing to re-order planting medium. Putting aside the fact that my account is no longer recognized, I was extremely disappointed to find that the cost of ordering more peat pellets is 5x that of generic labels available on Amazon. I was also shocked to find that the cost of an Ogarden unit is now double what I paid for it, and the website no longer offers seeds of any kind. Combined with the fact that the company has never made replacement parts available for purchase on their website, and the absolute non existent responses from Customer Service once they’ve taken your money, I would suggest looking elsewhere for an indoor grow option for your family. Ogarden Smart appears, and to a degree is, great at first glance, but the lack of responsiveness & support after purchase make this an expensive adventure to your local home & garden store. I really wish this were not the case, as the concept is great, and minor performance issues & the significant increase in initial investment could easily be overlooked if they followed through to ensure that their customers were satisfied.

Poorly designed and nothing but issues.

The concept and design are great but sadly, the quality and execution is poor. The product arrived broken (The LED panel would not work, which is required to power and run the programs). It took OGarden nearly a month to respond to phone calls and email. An online community was able to help me problem solve and repair the issues but there were ongoing small issues almost weekly. On top of this, it is messy! The turning action means that small amounts of dirt are dropping all the time and I felt like I was also cleaning it up. The plastic tabs on the plant holders started to break after only 6 months and I found that a lot of growth was stunted, due to the distance between the plant and the grow light. After less than a year I got tired of the constant breaking down and mess and gave up. A waste of money.
