Scam

I've been a loyal customer, but very disappointed with this company. My monthly premium was raised twice in one year without notice. When I called in to ask about it, instead of helping me, the representative canceled my policy without confirming with me. Very unprofessional and careless customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

OneGuard is a scam

OneGuard is a scam. Stay clear from them.We have been without an A/C for 3 weeks today and we live in Chandler, Arizona where the temperature is 108F today. Our A/C requires a new control board and a new fan. Parts are available according to OneGuard's own A/C contractor. But OneGuard claims that our A/C requires "modifications" and hence it is not covered. They offered us $800 cash or if we chose to continue with repairs, we need to pay $2000.What a scam.

A/C leaking unit denied!

As noted by several others, claim denied on an A/C unit that started leaking. One Guard stated not covered because it’s not part of the main house. It’s the original warranty that came with the house. 7 years of maintenance calls, never denied those, but once a replacement was needed, suddenly not covered. Probably my fault for not asking something so obvious? The only reason I kept this warranty was because of the A/C units. Buyer beware, they will try everything to deny a claim. Wasted money. There’s more but I’m too exhausted dealing with this company. Read the reviews and decide for yourself. I canceled the contract and will never use them again.

worthless

I had a simple garage door issue (Dispatch #3142212) and reached out to OneGuard Home Warranties for help. After calling more than seven times, I finally received a "solution"—either accept a $120 check (which doesn’t even cover the cost) or pay an additional $300+ on top of the $69 service fee I already paid. The entire process was frustrating, time-consuming, and ultimately felt like a complete waste of time and money. Extremely disappointed with their service and lack of resolution.

worst contractors, shady business practices

They always have the worst contractors, takes a long time for them to get there such that the problem could get worse. No emergency coverage. VERY hard to cancel they avoid it

Locked into one contractor of their choosing

We utilized the OneGuard Home Warranty for a condo that we purchased. The main area where they were involved was in resolving problems with the HVAC system. They would only use one contractor that was not performing well. I asked them if we could use a different contractor and they said they only have one in the area they are allowed to use. When it came time to replace the air conditioning unit, the home warranty covered all but $600 and the cost of the crane used to lift the AC unit. The contractor did not install the switches that alert us that there is an overflow of condensate under the unit or in the overflow line, so the engineered wood floor that was 3 years hold had to be replaced for $6,000. I do not recommend OneGuard because they are using one bottom of the barrel contractor, at least for AC issues, which can be a focus area in Texas.

Poor customer service management and poorer contractors

This company uses an asian or Indian call center who agents invariably have poor phone connections. This is 2023 so you'd figure when my cell phone comes up they'd have all my information, but not the case so you spend 10 min in buraucracy. They keep using the same lousy contractor, AZ Trademasters-HVAC, who NEVER can get to you in less than a week and NEVER can get it fixed the first time. It's 115 degrees outside and we have no AC. I would find someone else.

OneGuard's Refusal to Authorize Timely Repairs on Covered Item

I would NOT recommend OneGuard Home Warranties due to their preoccupation with written procedures that conflict with good business common sense/practices. I have a dryer that is in need of a heating element and a drum that was marginally warped but does not interfere with the proper operation of the dryer. Both items were backordered with no ETA. The heating element which is CRUCIAL for a dryer's serviceability was received by the service vendor, but they are waiting for the drum, which does NOT interfere with the proper operation of the dryer. OneGuard's POLICY is that ALL parts must be received before service technicians can be dispatched out to effect repair. I've repeatedly made calls to OneGuard's Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) requesting them to send a technician out to replace the heating element to restore the dryer to operational condition and to install the drum (backordered indefinitely) whenever it should arrive LATER. From a customer service's perspective, it would make sense to install the heating element so that the dryer is restored to operational condition FIRST as this is the PRIMARY reason for the service call. CSRs are NOT empowered to make ANY decisions that may deviate from written policy and do not have the ability to provide access to management or a supervisor to resolve customer concerns. OneGuard is NOT customer-focused and seems to be enslaved by the written policies they've established and not in the customer's favor. For those existing customers and those considering OneGuard for home warranty services, you should be wary of any issues that could arise if assistance is needed from anyone higher than a CSR - they can't or won't help you. My initial service call for the dryer was made on 3/7/2023. It is now 4/4/2023.To be fair, it's important to note that OneGuard, in general, has been responsive to most service and repair needs and their performance has been good. However, the point I'm trying to communicate to others is that there is no one out there to help you should you have an issue that extends beyond what a CSR is able to do. You're on your own.UPDATE: OneGuard remains inflexible and refused to authorize a technician to install the heating element that is on-hand at the service vendor. This means I will have to wait until a NON-CRITICAL PART, the dryer drum, is received. The drum is on backorder indefinitely. OneGuard's service standard is unsatisfactory and they seem steadfast and inflexible by NOT effecting repair when they have the means to do so.To make my point, see below OneGuard's response to my Google review.Response from the owner an hour agoThank you for bringing this information to our attention and allowing OneGuard the opportunity to review your situation firsthand. Customer satisfaction is our utmost priority and we sincerely apologize for the frustration. We have confirmed OneGuard has explained the warranty process with you and we are always available if we may offer additional assistance. Thank you again for your consideration. - OneGuard Home WarrantiesIf you were the one with a broken dryer and knew your home warranty service had the part to fix it, would you be satisfied with their response?

Be very careful with this company

Be very careful with this company. They are fraudulent. We paid $2000 for a brand new air compressor. After a few months we had issues with our air again. The tech that came out today said that One Guard ordered us a REFURBISHED air compressor. The tech said that these only last a few weeks. They are using old equipment when you are paying for new. And now they want us to pay $1500 again so they can send us another used air compressor. It lasted 3 months, why would we pay to be scammed again.

one guard past 2 years is nothing but a…

one guard past 2 years is nothing but a scam with any of the techs they call out, oh sure they will cove the item thats bad, but then ALL the techs will also find all the extra's that MUST be done or they wont replace item. Like wiring, hoses, cables, exchange fees, what ever. water heater, sure they cover a water heater, but even if you in and out hoses are in perfect condition, the scam tech in our case AV pluming says oh we need to charge you $450 for new pipes thats about $50 in materials, or they wont install it. Then another $159 to exchange the water heater thats still under warranty that one guard just replaced less than 4 years ago. see this is why all the techs LOVE the one guard warranty, One guard just pays them for the labor at a reduced rate and then the techs make that up by charging YOU the one guard customer in extra hidden fee's that THEY says is required to finish the repair or replacement, great scam these warranties company have going with all the repair techs. Nice game they have going on here, dont believe me, try getting a repair or replacement on any covered item, YOU will have out of pocket costs every time.

Whoa....

The technician that One Guard sent out to fix my a/c issue diagnosed it as a blower motor. Honor Air never gave me a price for new blower motor, so I called another a/c company. It was the capacitor.Next experience: Called to have windows cleaned. Service fee charged. No company on their approved list, so find your own. I did. Got their price approved for reimbursement. Submitted the bill and I received a partial payment. Now trying to get a manager or the retention team in sales to call me....promised a call within 24 hours...nope...still waiting...

oneguard is a SCAM NOT LEGIT AT ALL

On 6-17, I called oneguard to file a claim for a leak in my lawn irrigation system. First thing they do is charge the service fee. I was very specific on that call. The calls are recorded. Please retrieve it. I said that I was not interested in finding my own contractor. If they don't/can't handle it, then I DO NOT AUTHORIZE THE CHARGE. I was assured they had a contractor and they would come out. On 6-21 I called to check as I had yet to hear from anyone. I was again assured that I just needed to wait for the contractor. On 6-23, AS I WAS BOARDING A PLANE OVERSEAS, I received an email that read in part "as per our conversation, you are approved to find your own contractor..." NO SUCH CONVERSATION EVER TOOK PLACE. I was able to call again on 6-24. I asked for a manager. I was told one would call me in 24 hours. It is very telling when a company has no process to escalate a call. A manager will call you. Yeah. Sure they will. On 6-29, I called YET AGAIN. and YET AGAIN I asked for a manager. And YET AGAIN the answer is a manager will call you. When????? I am still waiting for the call I was promised LAST WEEK. No one at this company cares. No one at this company will tell you the truth. NO ONE AT ONEGUARD WILL HELP YOU.

Technician Showed up late and promised…

Technician Showed up late and promised to come back next morning with parts but decided to reject the claim stating original electrical work wasn’t done right. The original work was completed by technician who specializes in installing electrical wiring for Tesla car charging.
