Scamming The Masses
If I could give this company zero stars, I would. At this point I have come to realize that it's business as usual money motivated thing. I switched to Aetna from United Healthcare thinking my individual needs would be met better. Wrong. This flex spend thing is nothing more than click bait to entice the masses into believing they're better off choosing aetna. They offer more money, but they attach spending restrictions such as no access to other online retailers for groceries. You are told to go to their "exclusive" shopping website, and when you do, you find the price- gouging that the U.S. is infamous for. A box of fruits and veggies consists of 3 apples, 2 cucumbers, 1 lettuce, 2 pears is tagged a hefty $45. It's not even organic, adding insult to injury. That's just one example of the scheming and lying. Customer service is horrible. I won't bore you with any more details. Just know that this company is full of it and they have no real concern for people, which should be top priority for a healthcare establishment. You're better off elsewhere. Don't fall for the money card. It's not worth the trouble.

I had an amputation on May 31
I had an amputation on May 31, 2023 (over 7 months ago) and this company still will not approve my leg so that I can get back to work. They don't care that i have used all my savings and am close to losing everything. They don't care that i have NEVER missed a payment. They just keep denying me and delaying, in hops that I will give up. This is the single worst insurance provider I have EVER had the displeasure of dealing with. DO NOT USE THEM. They are only good for taking your money. You WILL lose money because of their shady business practices. It is that simple.

Flexible Spending account services and management.
The service that is provided is abysmal. The website is wildly outdated and constantly locks you out of your account. Then getting back in is often an hours long chore. The site is incompatible with modern technology standards, and the support team is clueless to the problems putting the blame on you. The person I spoke with today, after I got disconnected and called back, told me that I should try a different machine or device. I only wish I could attach a screenshot of the page errors and anomalies. After multiple tickets to get my account verified and set-up I've been locked out twice spending hours on the phone with inept customer service reps. I found on CS rep who was helpful and her efforts were confounded by a tech support team that couldn't be bothered to follow up.Some of the call takers are just obnoxious, some just make you feel uncomfortable. Today's call it sounded like a party was going on in the background and on another call I could hear roosters. Yes, roosters!!It is clear the parent company is only concerned with saving a dollar at the cost of the customer experience. I agree with the last review, it makes me want to forgo the FSA account all together. But, unfortunately I already signed up for 2024. I will be making other arrangements next go 'round. My advice is stay away, far, far away. Save yourself the headache and the time. You think it's a handy tax shelter like most others, but it's a private horror show waiting for you.

Aetna's Payflex program
Aetna's Payflex program, which is used to administer their flexible spending account (FSA), is so horrible that I've decided I won't be funding an FSA next year. The frustration is not worth the tax savings! Their entire interface is confusing as hell and the customer support is nil. I've said as much to my company's benefits department as well.
