Happy with all parts of my move from…

Happy with all parts of my move from California to the UK. Thought I will leave a review given that the majority here are really scary stories and they made me very worried when I first shipped my things with Schumacher.Door to door, the shipment took just over 3 months. I was made aware from the start that it would take a while, additionally as it was over the Thanksgiving / Christmas / New Year period, so the long wait didn’t take me by surprise. The team who picked up my things was very respectful, they worked cheerfully, did their job in good time, and, ultimately, their packing was great as I got all my things in one piece.I actually ended up paying a fair bit less than the original estimate (I ended up asking them not to take some bulky furniture), so I was impressed by their honesty. They could’ve easily tried to charge me the original estimate that I had already agreed to.On the UK side, I had good communication from the two companies who handled the receiving and delivery of my items. They worked very quickly to bring my things to me and their movers were very polite and efficient.

THEY TOOK MY $3000 AND I WAS CONTACTED…

THEY TOOK MY $3000 AND I WAS CONTACTED ON JANUARY 6, 2026 BY A LOGISTICS PERSON IN THE NETHERLANDS, HIS NAME IS BAS VAN DUIJVENBODE WITH HOLLAND WITH WINDMILL FORWARDING PROMISING HE WOULD PERSONALLY DELIVER MY SHIPMENT VERY SOON. I SENT A PASSPORT COPY AT HIS REQUEST AND CONFIRMED DELIVERY ADDRESS AND NOW 5 WEEKS LATER NOTHING! NOBODY AT SCHUMACHER RESPONDS AND NEITHER DOES WINDMILL. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AND I WILL BE MAKING FORMAL COMPLAINTS. I CANNOT EVEN CLAIM INSURANCE BECAUSE NO ONE WILL RESPOND TO MY CALLS AND EMAILS. THEY ARE BOGUS.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, we moved from the US to Italy everything was fine at the beginning they were very helpful but they really deceived us. First they came to pick up our whole house shipment with a half full truck when we were going to need a container for the shipment, they did not send us another truck so because we were very short of time with the deadline for moving we had to leave stuff behind and then take some more things with our car to the warehouse. They had promised us the shipment would take in total 2-2.5 months so we came to Italy with our summer clothes only knowing we would get our things in 2 months. After 2 months we were told it hadn't even shipped or left the warehouse, when I asked repeteadly and demanded an answer they kept making excuses and didn't ship until almost 4 months from the time they picked up our things at our house. We actually received our things after 5 months!!!! and we had to spend so much extra money buying things we needed because we didn't have our things like essential things to cook, clean, winter clothes etc just because they lied to us about the shipping times. On top of that when we started opening they boxes everything had been changed and moved around so much time had elapsed that we couldn't remember every single item we had shipped plus they had moved things from boxes to other boxes. After realizing that things were missing which probably it's more than we can remember they told us the insurance we paid would not cover it because it had a $1000 deductible and of course we were not told that. So they scammed us with the timing, with losing some of our things with not being able to take more things because they brought a truck that was half full and they didn't even have the decency to cover our loses. This is the worst experience I have ever had, I wish I would have read more reviews. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Rude and negligent

Friendly and accommodating on first contact. Move coordinator who then took over was extremely unhelpful (even for questions on making the payments!) and rude. It took 12 weeks to ship my household goods from Germany to the US, when 6 to 8 were advertised. Of those at least 4 were due to apparently forgetting about my shipment. Justifications for the delay were rudely rejected. Of course no discount but additional fees for storage. The subcontracted moving company in Germany did an excellent job (i.e., not Schumacher Cargo Logistics).Total cost around $17500 for one 20 feet container.

Forklifted a car into a container and…

Forklifted a car into a container and damaged the door and engine, tried to divert liability afterwards. Vehicle is still off the road and looks like it will never go back on the road and I'm in over 60k in debt. I would set fire to my car rather than use this company again.

Simply awful

Simply awful. I've moved multiple times internationally and these guys were the worst for a US to UK move. Price increased 60% after pickup (I had only boxes, so I know how much volume there was) + they sent randoms for pick up with a rented uhaul, without any advisory. Shipment wasn't shipped out of the USA for weeks, and then delayed in the UK (never happened before). On arrival, so many items were broken. Worst - the horrendous attitude of Christopher, the key contact. Please use another firm. These guys just aren't worth it.

They were the last step in my household…

They were the last step in my household delivery from London to California. They had possession of my objects for over six weeks, and besides the initial email there was no communication about the status and ultimately I had to track down a warehouse manager, who ended up being incredibly helpful and getting a delivery date confirmed. But my logistics managers were completely unhelpful. It is so hard in a situation like this to feel helpless in terms of getting possession of your stuff, and they did not help.

Our Agent for 15 years

We worked with Schumacher for 15 years and only recently stopped because the direction they are moving in is not our market. Their crews are great. The warehouse and support team promptly responded to my emails. They probably handled about 1000 shipments of ours with very few claims or issues.

Thoroughly disatisfied. Avoid Schumacher Cargo!

The initial contact with Daniel Cassidy was very pleasant, and we completed a virtual walkthrough of our entire house that covered every room, closet, cupboard, and drawer. Despite this, the movers arrived without the appropriate packing materials, and their packing strategy proved incoherent, as we later discovered. For example, they meticulously wrapped a box of tissues (!) and other random items in craft paper, yet stacked several paintings together in a box with no protective padding whatsoever. After many weeks of delay with little to no communication from the French team, our belongings finally arrived at our new home ten weeks after leaving our house (the estimate we were given was four to six weeks). Furniture was scratched or damaged, lamps were broken, and although the moving-in team unpacked most of our items, they were unable to locate the hardware (packed but not labeled by the movers) needed to reassemble our desk and bed—so they simply left contrary to provisions in the contract. When we contacted Schumacher Cargo to report that they had not fulfilled their contract, they stopped responding entirely. We have not heard from them since. Needless to say, we never received a customer satisfaction survey either.

WARNING: DO NOT USE SCHUMACHER CARGO LOGISTICS!

This company is holding my entire household hostage after quoting me $21,850 for a 40-ft container door-to-door move from CA to KSA.Their on ground team leader Francesco repeatedly told us during pickup, “everything will fit, don’t worry”, while the crew packed, even after we clearly told them NOT to take alot of bulky items which was documented on video. They took everything anyway, filled the truck, and left.Once they had all my belongings, they suddenly doubled the price to $43,700, claiming “extra volume” that they themselves created by packing what we told them not to. Now they refuse to release my items unless I pay this outrageous, made-up amount. They also took a $2,500 deposit, which I’ll likely never see again. I’ve sent them multiple formal emails demanding resolution, no response. When I politely called to confront them, they hung up on my face and have ignored every call since. This isn’t bad service, it’s a bait-and-switch scam and load hostage situation. I’m filing complaints with the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), the FMCSA, and California consumer authorities for deceptive and fraudulent business practices.Avoid this company at all costs. Once they have your stuff, you’ll be trapped, ignored, overcharged, and left powerless.

Ghosted for pickup, dodged a bullet.

Was fine up until the moment I signed the contract. From then, their communication shot to 0, on our supposed pickup date we were sitting waiting with all of our things out, no idea when they were supposed to come (they were supposed to have told us the pickup time the day before, but had not), and our calls to then were either ignored or they simply hung up mid-conversation. Thankfully they only managed to scam the deposit out of us.

Dishonest, Hidden Fees, and a Completely Disrespectful Experience

The absolute biggest scammers. My husband and I used Schumacher to move from Miami to Germany, and it was by far the worst decision we made during our relocation. At first, Naomi was friendly and seemed upfront about costs and logistics. But the moment we signed the contract, everything changed. Communication became vague, key decisions were made without our input, and every time we asked for clarity, whether on final square footage, marine insurance, or extra charges, we were brushed off with generic responses like, “this is the better option” or “building deliveries aren’t usually more than 2 floors.”We were then hit with multiple surprise charges, including one related to the floor level of our new building. But when our items were picked up in Miami, the movers had no issue collecting boxes from our 4th-floor apartment. So this sudden change in what’s considered “included” felt like nothing more than a convenient excuse to tack on more fees.We tried to be understanding, but at this point, it honestly felt like a scam. We kept asking for honesty and transparency and got neither. My husband was never told about these “additional” costs during the initial call. It felt like the bare minimum was shared upfront just to close the sale, with the rest withheld until we had no choice.Schumacher also knew our destination well in advance, and yet didn’t flag any of these supposed delivery limitations when we gave them our updated address. That kind of oversight (or intentional withholding) shows a clear lack of professionalism and accountability. To top it off, several of our boxes arrived in disgusting condition, and five items were broken, damage so bad, it didn’t even feel worth filing a claim. That’s how little faith we had in the process by the end. We’ve since gone back and read the reviews and now, sadly, everything makes sense. We put our trust, belongings, and money in a company that clearly doesn’t value integrity, customer service, or basic respect.Avoid Schumacher at all costs. This experience was not only expensive but emotionally draining, and we wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

I booked and THEN saw the reviews

I booked this service and THEN saw the reviews and was terrified. I am writing a review to give someone out there peace of mind. I shipped my SUV from NJ to London. I had great communication the entire time and my car arrived exactly when they said it would and without a scratch. We didn't even need to jump the car--the battery worked fine. I DID upgrade to a private container to ensure it's timely arrival, so that probably helped. The only unfortunate part was that the UK charged another $1,500 or so when it got to the port, but Schumacher Cargo warned about more fees when it arrived in all the paperwork. I would def use them again.

NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE

So, on first speaking with Schumacher we were surprised to hear an Australian accent, but thought 'this bodes well'. We could not have been more wrong! Their communications is terrible, the tracking portal they give you will tell you your vessel is still at Long Beach even after it has docked in New Zealand, they will cut and paste 3 emails together (all different fonts) to reply to you because they really can't be bothered to treat you with respect. Oh! and they will charge you FAR more than the orginigal price which is dressed up to cover 'everything', when really this is just their starting price. We have had bills from the US customs, the removal team on the US side, the removal team on the Sydney side, and no doubt another bill from the Aus customs. As an added bonus, when our container was chosen for US customs inspection we literally received ZERO information about timelines, costs, nor what would happen to the overall timeline promised when we signed the papers with them. You REALLY ought to think to yourselves how much your stuff is actually worth, because, all told, I think ours is now however much we originally paid for it PLUS over $23000 Earth dollars!!!!! They are little better than scam artists. And as for the bloke with the Aus accent; you will never hear from him again after he gets your money. NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE unless you have endless amounts of cash in the bank and simply can't be bothered to sort yourselves out on the other side.

⭐ 1 star for SCAM!

⭐ 1 star for SCAM!Absolutely disgusted by this greedy, unprofessional company. We arranged our international move from Reading, UK to Atlanta, USA through PSS Removals, who unfortunately partnered with this disgrace of a delivery company in the U.S. The experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Our contract clearly stated:“Destination: Atlanta (within 30 miles)” and yet, once the shipment reached the U.S., we were suddenly told we owe $170 extra for being "8 miles over" some vague, never-defined delivery zone. There’s no clear port mentioned, no explanation of how the distance is calculated, and when we started asking legitimate questions, the silence began.Ruth Ortiz stopped responding completely.Helen Griffin (PSS removals in the UK) ignored multiple emails.Steven Peña and managers Nik and Filip from the LA office have been totally unresponsive. It has now been nearly 3 months since our items left the UK - and I’m almost certain we’ll be waiting another 3 months, if not more. And based on everything I’ve read, I now live in fear that we’ll receive damaged goods on purpose, simply because we were asking too many questions and not agreeing to everything what they said.Unfortunately we had to pay, as they stopped talking to us. How pathetic. To make it worse, their packing methods are laughable - before shipping they wrapped almost everything in nothing but thin paper. No proper padding, no protection, it’s hard to believe this is a company trusted with international relocations. This isn’t just poor service - this is deliberate NEGLECT and MANIPULATION. Their entire strategy seems to be: ignore the customer, stall the delivery, and punish anyone who doesn’t quietly accept made-up charges. If I had known PSS REMOVALS (UK) was partnered with a U.S. SCHUMACHER CARGO LOGISTICS team like this, I never would have trusted them with our belongings. Now we’re left in limbo, wondering when - or even if - we’ll see our things again, and in what condition.Do not, under any circumstances, use this company. If you’re moving internationally and see Ruth Ortiz, Steven Peña, Helen Griffin, or any reference to this U.S. group through PSS — take your money and run.Greedy, dishonest, and utterly disgraceful.1

Stay Away.

Simply horrible. No help whatsoever. We imported two vehicles and Schumacher was supposed to facilitate the process stateside./. They did absolutely nothing, refused to answer questions and ended up charging more than double the quoted amount. Our vehicles were tagged for more extensive customs inspection, which was not Schumacher's fault. However, Schumacher did not monitor the process and declined to intercede which cost us an additional $10,000 in new charges on top of the $4,000 they billed.Only after months of our own efforts was that number properly reduced by $7,500, as the excess demurrage fees were an error. Schumacher was of no help. We did all the work with the certified warehouse (Hapag-Lloyd). Schumacher only bothered to answer us when we reported that we had resolved the problem.Prior to that, Schumacher issued us three adjusted invoices, each one including the erroneous fees. They were happy to simply let us pay the excess. This seems to be the common thread on all these negative reviews. They know that customers are typically one-time. They know these customers are likely eager to get their shipments, and will likely capitulate and pay the excess fees. We were just lucky to have the time and resources to wait and fight the fees. The way they mistreat their customers is truly shameful.Avoid Schumacher. Their 2 star rating on trust pilot, google and BBB is well-deserved. There are better options.

Outstanding International Moving…

Outstanding International Moving Experience with SchumacherI recently used Schumacher for a relocation from the US to Germany, and I couldn't be more impressed. From the very first interaction, their team was responsive, professional, and incredibly helpful. The entire process was seamless from start to finish. After my initial call with the shipping coordinator, I felt so confident in their expertise that I didn’t even consider looking elsewhere. Their knowledge and clear communication put me completely at ease.On moving day, the crew arrived on time and worked efficiently while treating my belongings with the utmost care. Every item was handled thoughtfully, and the team was both courteous and respectful throughout the entire process.Schumacher made what could have been a stressful experience feel easy and manageable. I highly recommend them to anyone planning an international move—they’re truly a class act.
