Move Experience
Moved from Las Olas to Coral Gables last week. The team was great—careful, efficient, and friendly. There was a moment of panic when I thought they lost a box but it turned up. Price matched the quote.

I am filing a complaint regarding an unresolved issue with this moving company. The original estimate we were given for our move was significantly lower than what we were ultimately charged. Throughout the process, additional charges were added that were not clearly disclosed at the beginning. More concerning is that we were not given a clear explanation of anything. After many attempts to call customer service with no resolution despite multiple attempts to communicate with the company and manager being out, my mom had to leave some of her belongings behind. It was on the original estimate but somehow she was going to be charged double to take it. This situation has caused significant stress and financial burden during what should have been a straightforward moving process. I am requesting immediate communication from the company and a clear resolution, as well as a review of the excessive charges added beyond the original estimate. At this point, I am seeking accountability and a fair resolution to this matter.
Alex & Urri moved us & we’re good.
This so bad they scamers DONT TRUST THEM EVIL GUYS!!!!!!!
This company is a scam, stay away from them. They asked for a deposit of 1500 (we had 20 boxes). When they came to pick up the items, they changed their minds, charging 3000, leaving the bed frame and dining table behind, promising delivery in 6 days, but they didn't show up. When I called customer service, no one answered. The service is terrible, they refused to deliver our things to our house, saying our area was too close. They are incompetent, a warning sign! We unloaded our things ourselves with this company, we had arguments with them. We spent 4500, we regret it, it's very frustrating. Please research them, it's a big scam.🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
DO NOT! And I mean this whole heartedly, DO NOT USE THIS CARRIER!!! Wait and switch at its finest. Whatever they quote you, expect to pay at least double. Whatever they tell you for a delivery date, throw it out the window and good luck getting them to tell you when they will actually deliver. Customer service will talk down to you and even hang up on you. If I could give them no stars I would. I hope anyone reading this review heeds my warning. If you still decide to use them then you get what you deserve
Absolutely fantastic movers! This was my second time using them and as expected they didn’t disappoint. At one point the guys were working in the pouring rain and still didn’t miss a beat. More competitive price than the competition and still do a better job! Will definitely be using them again next time I move.
Worst Moving Experience Ever - Avoid Value Added Moving at All Costs! (Update: They Vanished with Our Stuff!) If I could give Value Added Moving (Fort Lauderdale, FL) zero stars—or negative infinity—I would. As senior citizens and both veterans of military service, my spouse and I trusted this company because they market themselves as catering to military families and offer what sounded like reliable, honorable service. We were completely misled, exploited, and now outright robbed in ways that feel especially cruel given our age, fixed income, military background, and vulnerability. The nightmare started with their "professional" estimates: I went over every single item in our household inventory with them four separate times, providing detailed lists and photos for accuracy. They repeatedly assured us the quote was solid—no surprises, no hidden costs—and even hinted at potential discounts for seniors or veterans. It came in at a seemingly reasonable amount that fit our modest budget. Moving day was chaos. Their subcontractor, American Hills Moving out of West Hills, CA, showed up, declared the load double the estimate (despite zero changes), doubled the charges, refused to load half our belongings, and added unannounced charges for materials and wrapping—hundreds extra for blankets, tape, paper, and "protective wrapping" never mentioned upfront or in any estimate. These were classic hidden fees to inflate the bill further. Then came the extortion: They demanded full cash payment (no cards, no checks—cash only) before delivery to the final destination. We felt trapped and paid exorbitantly—way more than double the original quote—just to get our lifetime of possessions back. Or so we thought. They never delivered. They made one call two days prior to the scheduled delivery date, but when I mentioned I was going to record the call for protection (as seniors dealing with shady dealings), they immediately hung up. On the actual delivery day? Complete no-show—no truck, no call, no communication whatsoever. We've tried every number they previously provided—no answer, no callbacks, nothing. Our household goods are essentially held hostage or worse, and we're left with nothing but empty rooms and mounting stress. This feels like a full-on scam: bait with low quotes, switch with massive hikes and extras, pressure for cash "on delivery," then disappear entirely after payment. As veterans and seniors, we chose them thinking our service and age would earn respect—instead, we were targeted for exploitation. The pattern matches countless complaints online: lowball estimates, subcontractor bait-and-switch, surprise fees, cash demands, and then radio silence or outright abandonment of loads. We've already started filing reports with the Better Business Bureau (where they have dozens of similar unresolved complaints), FMCSA (for interstate movers), our state attorney general, and local consumer protection agencies. If you're a veteran, senior, or anyone considering them—run the other way. This isn't incompetence; it's predatory and potentially criminal. And American Hills Moving, their subcontractor, I think they are even worse—plagued by their own flood of complaints about tripling prices, scams, terrible customer service, and vanishing acts. Research accredited, highly rated movers with transparent pricing, no cash-only demands, and strong track records (check FMCSA licensing, real customer reviews, and avoid brokers that subcontract to unknowns like this). Protect yourself—especially if you're vulnerable like we are. We trusted them with our home and memories; they stole our peace of mind and our belongings. Never again. Avoid Value Added Moving—and especially their subcontractor American Hills Moving—like the plague!
i would give this EVIL moving company a -5 star review, VALUE ADDED MOVING took total advantage of me! The price i was quoted was like over 3,000 less than than they tried to make me pay. They came to my h ome which had been sold and i needed to be moved out that day, which they knew about, nothing like being told if i needed them to move me it would not be able to be done the day we had arranged weeks prior, and on top of that they wanted a couple THOUSAND dollars to do it!!! WHAT A CORRUPT COMPANY "VALUE ADDED MOVING IS! and now they refuse to to give me any of my at least 2 down payment, PLEASE PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY, i am a senior citizen and this EVIL MOVING COMPANY has totally screwed me over!
They are fast , efficient and also always very careful during the move. My family and I have used them several times throughout many years. You do not have to worry about a thing when you book them. I highly recommend this company when planning a move.
Do NOT use Value Added Moving (also billing as Moving Storage and Logistics Services Inc). They are a predatory broker, not an actual moving company, and they rely on textbook bait-and-switch extortion tactics. My mother booked them for an interstate move and paid a $1,000+ deposit because they gave her a reasonable quote over the phone, verbally promising her "everything was covered." What they deliberately withheld was an impossible, buried limit in their contract: capping her at exactly 60 small boxes and 74 items total for an entire 3-bedroom house (with zero beds, couches, or large boxes included in their hidden inventory list!). When they called to "confirm" the pickup just days before the move, they suddenly demanded double the money because an entire house obviously doesn't fit into 60 small boxes. When we confronted them, their reps flat-out lied to us on the phone, claiming that "US regulations no longer allow weight-based pricing." This is a 100% fabricated lie used by scam brokers to force you into volume-based (cubic feet) pricing, which they easily manipulate by packing the truck loosely to overcharge you on moving day. When she rightfully exploded at them, called out the illegal bait-and-switch, and demanded a refund, they refused and hid behind their non-refundable deposit trap. Save yourself the nightmare, the stolen deposit, and having your belongings held hostage. Check their BBB complaints and their FMCSA record (US DOT: 3488421). Rent a truck yourself or find a reputable, local company that actually owns their own trucks. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!
I came on here to make sure there was a real reflection of this company. They did PRISTINE work for my family. We were moving my mother to Florida and it involved a couple stops, packing, and just a lot overall. They took extended time into our reservation which was necessary to get it organized.
We are in the process of disputing via BBB. However, I can tell you that this company does not hold its contractors accountable. We paid for premier packing service. This looks like, in the real world, tools and individual items being thrown into a moving van. Boxes packed with clothing from one closet, canned goods from the kitchen, and a temper-pedic air bed packed without the bed pump. This looks like our house still having items in everyone room that needs to be packed. Oh and if you ask for the location of your item for home owners insurance purposes, they will tell you at intake that you will always know where your stuff is. But when time comes, its now against their policy to let you know where your stuff is stored. I cannot begin to tell you what a nightmare this company has been. PLEASE it will be easier to do it yourself. Sheesh! The manager we spoke with just towed the company line and said he wasn't there so what was he supposed to do? I say, hold your contractors accountable. We shouldn't have to pay for services not received.
1 Star – Significant Discrepancies Between Verbal Representations and Written Estimate I provided clear information that I was moving from a 1,600 sq ft townhome. Despite that, Jakob White (Ext. 14) generated an estimate based on 342 cubic feet. For context, 342 cubic feet is not consistent with the contents of a home of that size. That discrepancy alone should prompt scrutiny. The verbal representations made during the sales conversation did not align with what was ultimately documented. The estimate structure, capacity representation, and processing details did not reflect what was discussed. Additionally, I was discouraged from using my debit card and encouraged to process payment differently. When a company representative steers a customer away from a standard payment method, it raises legitimate concerns about transaction transparency and dispute protections. Consumers should pay close attention to: • Cubic footage listed versus actual household size • Binding vs. non-binding estimate language • Method of payment requested • How documentation reflects what was verbally promised This experience underscores the importance of independently verifying calculations and obtaining full written clarity before committing to any interstate moving contract. Proceed carefully.
They were very fast and careful with my things. They were also very considerate asking me if anything in particular should be wrapped more than normal. They made a stressful day way less stressful! I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable movers, and they were very reasonably priced.
Juan and his team were very professional and quick regarding the moving day. They were very careful packing all the items and they made the move really helpful and easy. Thank you and I will be preferring Value Added Moving with my next move.
Stay away from this company and their bait and switch practices! As you can see from many of the reviews, they will quote you one price, then continue to increase your price throughout the process, with the biggest bump on the day you're supposed to move (for me it went from ~$2,200 to $5,200)!! Then when you cancel the move, the lovely lady from customer service calls and yells at you about how they're going to keep your deposit - instead of apologizing for the inconvenience and major problem this was causing! I had to find a new mover to go from Colorado to Florida at the last minute which caused significant delays in my planned move. Tom in sales has a great story about how they are both brokers and movers - IT'S NOT TRUE!! They are definitely brokers and the movers come in with NO communication from Value Added Movers except the contract. I had sent them a complete list of what I was moving so they couldn't change the quote on me again, but the mover never got the list and could care less about it. He only goes by the CUBIC FEET quoted on the contract, set by Value Added Movers. Don't know about you, but I can't translate 350 cubic feet into how much stuff I have, which is why I sent them a list. But that's another way they get you - by underestimating it and saying they'll only move a small portion of your stuff. RIDICULOUS! PLEASE - DON'T GET BURNED LIKE I DID!
I will never use this deceitful company again. My move was supposed to take 7-10 days. It is day 22 and still no truck. I called 3 times in the last week and each time I was told they had no idea where the truck was as they had lost communication with the driver. On the 4th call they said the truck would deliver between Friday, Feb 13 and Sunday, Feb. 15. Today, Feb. 12, I received a call that they will be "Loading the truck on Saturday the 14th and deliver in 7-10 days." They had already picked up my stuff on January 23rd. This company is not professional and is run by people who have no clue and truly don't care. What a nightmare, and who knows when my stuff will arrive?
The price was increased unexpectedly on pickup by about 40% even though I ended up taking less stuff than I quoted, as soon as you schedule them they will strong arm as much money as they can out of you, hoping that you’ll pay up rather than schedule other movers. The movers came a day later than scheduled, and even after that delay, were a further 3 hours delayed, and did not communicate that to me at all until after the scheduled (already delayed) time had passed. I was told they would use moving blankets for all the furniture, and handle all assembly/disassembly, but they only used paper and plastic, and did not assemble everything on drop off. I was also told that my move would not be given to another company, and that value added would be handling my move, the people that came to move me were another company, Rapid Express Moving. They will overcharge, under deliver, and be late if you choose value added moving. That being said, I have all my stuff, and the delivery time was rather fast.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I signed the check for the deposit with their understanding I did NOT have a moving date from TN to CA. Not a problem I was assured if they recorded the call as they say they do, they have proof of that. A month date I suddenly received a call scheduling the move and I reiterated I did not have a date certain and I then received an email saying my move was on hold. I called 3 months later to ask if I could use the deposit for a move from TN to TN rather than to CA and was told yes, but I had to wait to hear from Quality Assurance, supposedly in a couple of days. 2 months later and I’m still waiting. Now they refuse to refund my deposit. So my deposit of $2900 later with no call from them to schedule anything, nothing. They are misleading people and committing fraud. Be very careful. Even though I had no moving date, they made one up and then when I didn’t use it, my contract date for a refund had expired.
