DEVON REFERRAL SUPPORT SERVICES - AN ABYSMAL BUNCH
Devon Referral Support Services (DRSS) is part of 'NHS NEW Devon CCG' also known as 'Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group'. DRSS state that they provide a supportive, efficient, patient centred service in a professional manner, ensuring individuals access the right advice, care or treatment in a timely manner. BUNKUM in every respect! Their referral system does not support patients, is ineffective, their service is extremely poor & unprofessional and as a result, patients do not receive treatment in a timely manner, if indeed at all. Experience has proven that DRSS are nothing more than a costly filtering system that rejects GP referrals on any trivial pretext they can concoct. In so doing, they consume vast sums of the NHS budget that could be spent far more effectively at the front line actually treating patients in need of medical care. Their protocol is flawed, management are beyond reproach and they are unwilling to consider modifying unsound methodology. This is an expensive overly bureaucratic organisation with ineffective managers who are averse to any criticism, preferring to hide behind their defunct modus operandi. Ultimately, responsible for this failed DRSS organisation lies squarely with the 'NHS NEW Devon CCG' senior management but they similarly don't give a damn. Don't bother complaining, they are in denial, deaf to any criticism and refute any liability.
