Outstanding personnel & services

Dog Gone Taxi is amazing. They provided excellent service. Rebeca was super nice and helped us every step of the way. Due to pet quarantine our pets (2 dogs & a bird) had to leave the US 21 days after our departure. Rebecca was giving us an update about our pets every step of the way, sending videos/pictures of them and also was updating on the process of paperwork that was being done for their upcoming flight. We felt safe trusting our pets to Dog Gone Taxi! It felt amazing knowing that the Dog Gone Taxi didn’t look at our pets as just some business, they genuinely cared for them and we could see it from the videos that were sent to us. Our pets looked like they felt home and happy. Our pets are now reunited with us in Dubai. They are as happy and playful as they were before we left the US and that is just one more confirmation that we made a right choice by choosing Dog Gone Taxi. Thank you Rebeca for an amazing service that your company provided!

Last Minute Hero - Came to our Rescue!

This was a last minute emergency assist situation. We were arriving in Seattle, coming from Spain Friday evening after customs close. We needed someone to clear customs for us, otherwise we would have to wait until Monday. That would mean rebooking hotels, car, adjusting our Airbnb in Boise. It would be a mess. The airport cargo reception referred Dog Gone Taxi and we were able to communicate over WhatsApp. They were super responsive, professional, giving us a lot of peace of mind. We picked up our girl with zero problems. Dog Gone was super friendly and I could tell my dog enjoyed their company despite the inherently stressful nature of travel. I was hugely relieved by their help. Highly recommend. Great people.

International moves are never easy…

International moves are never easy especially for pets other than dogs and cats. I kept hitting a brick wall trying to move my Cockatiel "Rocky" myself, I got so many different answers from expat sites from, get a vet cert and you are good to go, to birds cannot be transported to the US, it is not allowed. Finally I found Dog Gone Taxi, I reached out to Rebeca about 6 months or so before our planned move from Europe back to the States. She had all the answers I was looking for and I had lots of questions, probably drove her crazy, but she always patiently answered them in a timey manner. When the time came to move and it moved fast, Rebeca was there to get things done, seriously could not have done this without her expertise and help. Finally the day came and we arrived in New York and Rocky was picked up for quarantine. It was really difficult to hand him over, but it was the price to pay to bring him to the States. Rebeca assured us he would be well cared for, which he was, the facility sent us photos while he was being observed. Now moving forward 30 days and the end of quarantine, we opted for their nanny service to bring Rocky to us. Rebeca set everything up for Stephanie to receive Rocky at the airport, Stephanie had booked the flight, they did all the necessary paperwork and Rocky arrived safe and happy. Stephanie was so kind and sent us photos when she received Rocky at the airport and kept us informed through the whole trip. Thank you both so much for your help and kindness. Rocky is very happy to be back with his canine brothers and of course his humans also. I highly recommend Dog Gone Taxi for all your pet travel.

A Phenomenal Experience moving our cat and Parrot from Houston to dubai

My family and I had to move on a short notice from Houston to Dubai. We had a cat and a cockatoo parrot who are integral part of the family. I was lost and confused on who will handle these two species especially that parrots are endangered species… We wanted a one stop shop and wanted to deal with one person who will do a door to door while giving the same love we give to our fur’d and feathered babies… Rebeca was amazing, patient and knew the process in depth and most importantly honest abt what could get delayed or go wrong with the parrot approvals from the USDA. Long story short, we felt very comfortable and knew each step ahead. Our cat was able to be in dubai in less than a month, while our parrot made it to Dubai in a record breaking 3 month (typically can take up to one year)Will definitely be working with DogsGoneTaxi when we move back to Houston for their honesty , 24/7 availability and knowledge.

Great experience A+++

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Dog Gone Taxi. I reached out to several companies and this one responded quickly and was great. I had traded some emails with them but wanted more info on transporting our cat from TN to CA. I spoke with Ashley on the phone and she answered all of my questions. She was great! We decided to use them as we were trying to get our cat there within 7-10 days. They were able to accommodate our schedule. After I put down the deposit I was contacted by Taylor saying she would be the pet nanny taking our cat from the airport in Nashville to the door of our home in CA. She was very kind on the phone and extremely kind in person. She put our minds at ease. She stayed in constant contact and sent us photos and texts as the travel day progressed. She even called ahead to the house letting them know the ETA for arrival our cat Sasha.Taylor was just fantastic!!This was a great experience from beginning to end! They made this experience a great one. We were nervous but Taylor and the crew gave us confidence that we made the right choice!Would recommend them to anyone looking to transport their loved pet :)John L

Beyond stressful

I honestly don’t even know where to start, I feel like I could write a novel. I will try and keep this as short as I can.Let’s start with the only positive- my dog made it to England alive, but even that wasn’t any thanks to Dog Gone Taxi. The whole process was unprofessional and extremely stressful. I started talking with Ashley (relocation assistant) about 3 months ago with the start of our plan. At that point we didn’t really know which country we would be flying into and were just trying to get an idea of prices to different locations. Every location request seemed like a burden, not a great start. There were emails I sent with questions that just simply got ignored or would take days to respond. The fact that they are dealing with people’s fur babies and that this isn’t exactly a cheap process, I expected the communication to be outstanding. There was a lot that happened in between the beginning and end, but again that would turn into a novel so I’m skipping to the end. Our boy has diabetes and I had made Ashley and everyone else I talked to aware of this fact from the very beginning. I would think this should be flagged on every single one of his records and made a top priority. My husband is already in England and we had made timing so that I would give our boy his insulin shot right before checking in and then my husband would give him one as soon as he landed. He would end up missing a dose, but we didn’t have much choice at that point. The day before departure I ended calling Rebeca, the manager, and got more information from her than I had in over 80 emails between Ashley and I. She even spotted a mistake where I was being overcharged. So here we are the day of departure and I have gotten zero communication from Ashley in the past couple of days and zero information about how to pick him up on the other side. I email Rebeca asking what my husband has do on the other side and she gets back to me almost instantly, but informing me that customs clearing takes an additional 6-8 hrs after landing… At this point I am pure panic attack, there is no way our dog could go that long without his medication. Not once was I ever told he would have to wait that long. Rebeca gave me information to get a hold of ARC at the London airport to try and figure out what we can do. Before I can even reach out to ARC, they emailed me! The manager on the other side reached out, introduced herself, and explained that she would oversee Remi’s clearing. I was in shock that I was getting better communication from the London airport than I was from Dog Gone Taxi. We called Sarah at ARC, and she had no clue he had diabetes and was glad we reached out because they would have fed him! Sarah was able to arrange for my husband to bring in the meds and a vet to administer the shot. I am still absolutely disgusted that it got to that point. If we hadn’t contacted ARC on our own our dog could have had a seizure or worse. I emailed Rebeca telling her about this and there was NO apology, nothing but a template response. I understand companies are short-staffed and policies are always changing because of covid, but our experience wasn’t because of this. It was from incompetence and lack of communication. I’m not just telling my story for future customers, but also to the company in hopes they will find some better staff who actually care about what they are doing.

Wonderful experience - will definitely use again

Moving our dog from the west coast of US to Europe caused us parents quite a bit of anxiety. Once we engaged with Dog Gone Taxi, that anxiety went away. They quickly provided us all the details of the process as well as advice and recommendations. When the time came to actually send him over, everything went perfectly from the driver who picked him up at home and got him on the plane to the agents in Europe who handled all the customs and import paperwork. Without question we will use Dog Gone Taxi again and will happily recommend them to friends and colleagues.

Dog gone taxi provided excellent timely…

Dog gone taxi provided excellent timely service. Ashley was amazing, provided ground and air options with quotes, flights were booked within 24hrs of request and coordinated directly with the breeder for travel to the airport. Ensured myself and the breeder were aware of all the required paperwork for a seamless entry into Canada. Would definitely use their service again! Thank you so much for putting my mind at ease!

Great Experience

This company was nothing but an absolute pleasure to deal with. They answered every question I had, no matter how simple in a very quick and appropriate manner. Everything was clear and concisely written out for me. I had a horrible experience with the breeder I was dealing with to make a USA/Canada move and even though the puppy didn’t end up working out they made the whole experience that much better. I can’t have enough good to say about them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a transport company.

China pet shipper

Overall, coffee has arrived in China safely! The whole process for exporting from US and importing into China is hard. The paperwork , including health check , and duty checks is very strictly under this COVID-19 particular circumstances.Dog Gone Taxi , is definitely a professional pet shipping company internationally. I have already referred to my Chinese friend who needs the service for importing to china. It saves lots of efforts by providing the all included services. Thanks!

Good move

I recently used Dog Gone Taxi to move my large black lab from Seattle to Ireland. Moving in the middle of a pandemic was very challenging and the team at DogGoneTaxi made the pet part of the move easy and smooth for us. I was expecting mountains of paperwork and forms, but they took care of everything once I got the records from our vet. From the initial booking they were on top of things. When it proved difficult to find a flight (because so few airlines are flying into Ireland) they figured it out, arranged boarding, found a terrific partner on the Irish side to handle customs and deliver our dog to us. The staff who picked up our dog in the US were great. An international move will always be stressful, but choosing Dog Gone Taxi meant that we had one less thing to worry about. Highly recommend.

Indy and Flex to Thailand

I can’t say enough about how much I appreciated the help and expertise that Ashley Duvall and the rest of the team at Dog Gone Taxi provided. Ashley was always willing to answer my questions about anything that popped into my head pertaining to our dog’s move, as well as provided a quick response. Our dogs mean so much to our family and we wanted the best experience for them in their move to Thailand from the US. We definitely felt they got that and arrived safely without any problems. Thank you Ashley and all that were involved in getting Indy and Flex to Thailand.

Arranged my dog's trip to China with great care and help. Managed to solve a last minute issue of my own fault in the most satisfactory way. Special shout-out to Donald for making this possible and definitely recommend! Will be using the same for the return trip as well!

The incompetency of a lifetime

These people have been nothing but incompetent since the beginning of us working with them. I have never had such a lack of communication and transparency about the process. They messed up the dates that my dogs were supposed to travel and now my dogs are stranded in Germany with incorrect health records and are facing being shipped back to America when I’m leaving for Europe. Do not work with this company.

Rebeca was amazing

Rebeca was amazing, making our dog's trip happen very quickly and safely. We would use their services again in a heartbeat. Donald, the driver was open, friendly and reassuring. Our trip involved crossing a closed border so was stressful for us until we knew the family on the other side of the border had the dog. Huge thanks to all who made this happen.

Labrador from USA to Switzerland

We recently relocated from Portland OR to Switzerland and have used this company to move our black labrador. I have requested quotes from more than ten companies. They were the quickest to get back to us and also had the best price. Ashley and her colleagues have been amazing with managing all the big steps. I loved how everyone was so responsive during such a stressful move. I was very nervous but Ashley was always able to put me at ease. No matter what time I contacted them they always replied instantly and I always knew what to do next and where my pet was. I highly recommend this company!

I am happy, but...

First, the good. On my initial inquiry I received a very quick response with information and a quote to transport a puppy from California to Vancouver, BC. Alexandra and I spoke for a while and she sent me a copy of the CFIA form I was required to complete. Each line was filled in as an example and there were notes beside each line explaining in more detail. The form is confusing and the CFIA website is as well. It was nice to have some hand-holding here. Kudos to CFIA, as well. The website says it will take five to ten work days to get a permit. I received a response to say I had made an error after three days, I immediately corrected it and had my permit the next day. The puppy I had intended to buy didn't work out, so it was another two months before I reached out to doggone taxi again. At this point I worked with Blezza. She seemed less experienced than Alex, but she always answered my questions with a quick response and got me the information I needed. The plan was to pick the puppy up from the breeder in Mariposa, drive to the airport in San Francisco, where a pet nanny would fly with her under the seat (she is a small eight week old puppy) to Seattle. There she would spend the night and be driven over the border the following day where I would meet the driver. All went smoothly and she arrived exactly on time. She was a little intimidated from the 24 hours of travel, but half an hour after reaching our house, she was bouncing around trying to play with our two old dogs. So thank you Doggone Taxi for bringing me Lizzie. Now, the bad. As other reviewers have stated, communication is where this company requires improvement. First, the invoice was $650 higher than originally quoted, as the initial one did not include ground transportation from Mariposa to the airport in San Francisco. That should have been noted from the first, as obviously ground transportation was required. Second, there was a lot of confusion about pick up. Border crossing was to be on Friday. Pick up was always scheduled for Thursday. But nobody could give me a time. Finally, on Tuesday, three days before estimated arrival, I was told pick up would be 10:30 to 12:30, Wednesday or Thursday! After some panic-stricken calls, it was confirmed pick up was Thursday. Two hours after pick-up, the breeder was called by Doggone Taxi, asking for the vet certificate required to cross the border. She had given the original and a copy to the young man who picked up the puppy. At that point I was upset and demanded a photo of Lizzie on the plane to prove that my 5 pound puppy was safely under the seat instead of travelling in the hold. I did get a photo after a while. The next morning I received notice that the driver would arrive ten minutes late to a new address. Fortunately, we live nearby, so when we arrived and realized that there is no gas station at that address (in fact, no such street number), we just went to the original meeting point and the driver arrived with Lizzie and at least one other dog a few minutes later.I paid for the service with a deposit and then a final payment. When I tried to pay online, I was unable to get the code needed to access the payment, so I called Ashley and gave her my credit card. When I was trying to make the final payment, the system refused to acknowledge me at all, so I once again gave my credit card number. So this aspect of the company also requires some tweaking.Doggone Taxi delivered my puppy safely when promised, during a very difficult situation. If this company can improve its communication with its customers and internally, the customer will feel greater trust and security, and then it will earn five stars.

COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT

I wish I could give ZERO stars. This is the mostly grossly incompetent business I have ever dealt with.My point of contact ("relocation assistant") throughout this experience was Ashley Duvall.First, the quote was very unclear. I have 2 cats, and some items in the quote were priced per cat, while others were quoted as the total for both cats. It took weeks and many emails just to clarify the pricing, and I got different answers depending on which employee I spoke to. In the end, it turned out to be much cheaper than the competition, but you get what you pay for...Once the quote was figured out, I was told I needed to buy bigger kennels because customs in Germany supposedly requires 3 inches of clearance. If this were true, I would have no problem with it. But Germany, like the rest of the world, uses the metric system and would NEVER set a standard like this using inches rather than centimeters. This was simply a number she made up to sell me bigger kennels. When I asked for clarification I received no response. The question was simply ignored.Phone calls were repeatedly ignored. Emails took days to receive a response, were so full of spelling and grammar errors that I couldn't follow them, and typically did not address the questions I was asking. At this point I was reluctant to proceed with the booking, but the price was so much better than the competition, so...I decided to go ahead and book. I received an itinerary for 2 DOGS going to the UNITED KINGDOM. I have 2 cats that needed to go to Switzerland. I corrected this information and made it clear that I had major doubts about their competence... I would need some sort of assurance that they actually know what they are doing. I received no apology, no explanation, no semblance of a commitment to do better from that point forward. What I received instead was a new itinerary, on the wrong date, with a FOUR DAY LAYOVER IN GERMANY.I am cancelling my booking with this company. I don't have much money, but I'm more than happy to pay DOUBLE their rate to avoid doing business with them.
