I had a frustrating experience with…

I had a frustrating experience with Eventbrite recently. I purchased a ticket for an event that was ultimately cancelled, and when I requested a refund, it was denied based on their refund policy. This raises a serious concern: the current system appears to allow organisers to collect ticket revenue, postpone or cancel their events, and face no financial accountability to attendees. It is difficult to trust a platform that prioritises organisers over the people buying tickets. I will not be using Eventbrite again.

Scammed Twice In Two Weeks

I'll keep it brief and to the point.Went to our first "Event". Which was advertised as a trading card show. Advertised as Pokemon, One Piece, YuGiOh and "many many more". It wasn't. It was a Pokemon show. We raised it with the event coordinator - "We can't tell our traders what cards to bring". Yet ALL the traders were called Poke Trades, Poke Shop, Matthews Pokemon Cards etc. They booked nothing but Pokemon.Complained to Eventbrite through their channels. Ignored.Next event, child tickets sold out, must pay full price adults if you want to get your kids in. Two days later, just before the show - presumably numbers are looking rubbish... They magically are selling the cheap kids tickets again.Laughable. Scammers. Make me sick. The ignorance, the audacity and the stubbornness of "haha, unlucky mate" mentality shows their colours. Avoid.

Honestly

Honestly, I wish I could write them zero stars because the app is next to useless as whenever you try to alter something or change something or adjust something it flashes up as a fault every time and then when you try to ask for help you get stupid answers like you need to fill it in properly or you need to add in all the information like you’re a complete moron and haven’t done what you needed to do and the problem is a technical issue on their side and nothing you have done. Even for a charity event their fees are ridiculous per ticket for doing what because it is not as though they actually do anything you put in all of the information and they just posted it and for that you get charged a fortune for every ticket even for a charity event. You can’t change anything with any ease at all. You literally go round in circles trying to find what you need and nothing at all is logical or makes any sense quite frankly.Honestly, I wouldn’t ever use them again and I wish I had seen these reviews before I use them this time because my experience is at best shockingly bad!!

Applied for a refund the same day I purchased a red event ticket and didn't hear anything so emailed directly to the company but they have refused the refund as its against their policy even though I gave enough notice and now I am out £90 and am furious and upset. Never using them again.

Sunny Singh is a fraud

Sunny Singh is a fraud! He hosts events where he preys on vulnerable people trying to scam and make money from them. Also, at the dating events. It's his family and friends who attend and waste people's time in presenting they are dating 😂 Never ever ever ever EVER go to Sunnys events! He will scam every penny out of you if you are vulnerable and let him!!!!

Very bad experience

Very bad experience. Their customer service is really bad. The platform they use to sell the ticks is a scam aswell. I purchased tickets on that platform for a sydney event and they directed me to Melbourne event and I only come to know that after the payment. And after contacting them few times back and forth eventbrite and the event organiser post nights. They both say the other can do something about it and neither of them help. On top of that they asking me to sell the ticks in Melbourne. Clearly they are unable to do the job. So asking me to. It wasn’t my fault, their website is directed the wrong way and not refunding the ticks now. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with the service they have. They stop as wrong the calls after a while.

Gave up on it...

Just tried to set up a party on Eventbrite and it twice failed to save all the details and reverted to its own AI version. Gave up and will do it manually.

Integrity needed

They do not refund purchases for events that were cancelled. They hide behind inhuman language.

No support no refund forget once u pay them.

Extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience.I purchased tickets in advance, arrived on time, and waited in line for over an hour — in freezing cold weather. While standing there, I asked the staff at Muzique for assistance, and I was clearly told to contact Eventbrite directly. There was no cooperation or support at the venue. While still in line, I emailed Eventbrite because there was no help on-site.My tickets were NEVER scanned. I did not enter the event. I did not receive the service I paid for.Despite this, Eventbrite refused to issue a refund. If tickets are never validated or scanned, how can a refund be denied? This shows a serious lack of coordination and accountability. Customers should not lose money because the platform and organizer fail to manage entry properly.Money is collected instantly, yet when something goes wrong, there is no real refund support or buyer protection. After this experience, it is difficult to understand how so many positive reviews reflect reality.Very disappointing. Paying customers deserve fairness and accountability.

Search function: how NOT to do it

It is genuinely appalling how a company this size can have such an abysmal, utterly foolish search function. How can you make a search function this bad? I am unable to look for events in my town; I have to see events from 40km away too.Why on Gods green earth is it so hard to make a workable search function that filters by distance around a certain point? Eventbrite, why are you so shamelessly incompetent? Company of buffoons. Sort yourselves out ffs.

Failed to call out view obstruction

I've used Eventbrite in the past but came here because when Eventbrite asked me to review the event I attended, they didn't ask me for why I didn't rate it five stars. The higher than average fees as noted by others. But most importantly, the front row mezzanine tickets I purchased had an obstructed view (balcony railing) if you were under 5' 5" and this was not called out as it should have been.

Eventbrite deserves a minus 5 score

Eventbrite may Be the most incompetent of bungling, imbecilic, uncaring ratbags who every ripped off their clients and ruined people's businesses. These lowlifes jerked me around unmercifully for weeks, during which time it was impossible for anyone to buy tickets to my event. By the last day, 245 people had tried to purchase tickets from Eventbrite - AND ONLY 25 SUCCEEDED.Don't even think about entrusting your ticket sales to these appalling charlatans.THEY COULD SEND YOU BROKE.

Difficulty Downloading tickets

Downloading and even finding my tickets on the app is extremely cumbersome and confusing. I’ve never bought tickets on any other app where it took so many steps to get my tickets. Very poorly designed and unintuitive.

No refund for cancelled evebt

I had an event booked through Eventbrite that was cancelled the day before. I was not given a refund, and have had to contact them many times, but they say the event was not covered by Eventbrites cancelled events policy. Do not waste your money with this company, they will just steal it.

Expensive and Clunky

I was concerned with the higher-than-market fees initially, but was able to somewhat justify them given Eventbrite's brand recognition. But after dealing with their clunky interface for over an hour and trying to post my small event 4 times, I gave up and went to a competitor. I was up and running in 30 minutes for half the price.

They blew their chances

I give this place another chance after many months. so Today, I created an account using an email address I rarely check because the last time, I got spam. Then I publish events using their API as usual. One hour later they decide to suspend the account and don't explain why. When I check the email, I get the "congratulations" for publishing events. They need to go out of business.

⚠️ DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON CHEEKY…

⚠️ DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON CHEEKY DATE / EVENTBRITE ⚠️I purchased a ticket for a Cheeky Date event scheduled for January 3rd. I got dressed, drove to the event—only to arrive and find nobody there. I checked my email after the fact, and only then did I see a cancellation notice. No phone call. No text. Who the hell checks email on a Saturday night when they’re headed to a dating event?I immediately requested a refund. Instead of honoring that, they said “We’ll just apply your ticket to the Jan 17th event.” I agreed, even though I wanted my money back. Then what happened? The Jan 17th event got pushed to February 14th.I called. I asked again for my refund. The organizer told me to go through Eventbrite. Eventbrite then pointed to a “No Refunds” policy and told me to kick rocks. So now I’m out money, time, and patience—because I trusted a system that kept canceling events and refusing refunds.Let me be clear:🚫 Cheeky Date = shady🚫 Eventbrite = enabling the scam💸 They are profiting off canceled events and hiding behind vague policies.I’ve warned them. Next step: dispute the charge with your bank and leave public reviews. You will win.Stop letting these companies eat off our time and energy. We’re not dumb. We’re done.

Eventbrite posts fake events

Bought tickets to an event, which turns out there was no event there. Requested a refund, Eventbrite sent me an email saying this doesn't qualify for one. My advice, NEVER purchase tickets through Eventbrite. They take zero accountability

EVENTBRITE, CLOSE THE DOOR and GO OUT of BUSINESS!

I agree with most of the bad reviews, in fact the review doesn’t even meet one star. This company should close the door and go out of business. It’s a scam just to get your money and not deliver any of the services they lie about providing. The event I registered for was like pulling teeth to get a response. You have to pay up front for the event, and your lucky if you get a last minute response, or no response at all.BUYERS BEWARE EVENTBRITE is a SCAM! Do yourself a favor and save your money. There’s no value to register for any event on their website. EVENTBRITE, CLOSE THE DOOR and GO OUT of BUSINESS!
