I always use harpenden taxis for airport drop off and collection. they are fabulous. the on line booking site is good and the connection by text always works well

Dishonest and rude
Book a car for £81. They called ahead of time and said they didn’t have the size I booked and would send a smaller one. This was ok as we could still fit. Driver turned up and started shouting at me when I asked why he was trying to charge £91 instead of the price I booked. We were going to catch a flight and so couldn’t tell him to do one. Rubbish start to our holiday.Same scam on the way back. Charged me £96 this time instead of the £81 agreed price. This guy was at least polite, but he turned up 5 mins late and got flashed by the cameras on the M25...Spoke to head office and they were rude on email. Also mentioned that they record their passengers and keep the recordings - not sure that is legal(!), but helpful protection for customers given some of their drivers are aggressive and threatening.Needless to say, we won't be using them again.

I wish we’d read these reviews before…
I wish we’d read these reviews before booking our airport taxi. We booked for 4.00 am and we got a text at 4.24 to say he was outside the house. Thankfully we’d already woken a friend up and were on our way. Awful service.

Do not rely on this company
DO NOT RELY ON THIS COMPANY. Appalling. Pre booked transfer to airport cancelled without notification. Only found out when cab was due and didn’t turn up. Called but they had no drivers available. DO NOT RELY ON THIS COMPANY.

Badly let down
I booked a wheelchair taxi to collect my mum from her care home so we could take her out for lunch. We are a 2 hour drive away. The taxi arrived 10 minutes early and refused to wait for us to get there. She is too frightened to travel without people she knows. The taxi company said another car would be there 10 minutes later. They hadn’t arrived after 15 minutes and didn’t answer the phone. We managed to make other arrangements to take her out. The taxi eventually arrived half an hour late with no apology. Appalling service. I will never use them again

Cancelled booking without telling me
I made an advance booking using their App and they confirmed by phone the morning of travel. The taxi didn’t turn up. After 10 minutes I called them and they told me they had cancelled it due to lack of drivers. I had not been informed by phone, text or email, but they said I should have seen it on the App. This made us late for an important function.

Airport run and horrendous taxi - we booked and confirmed (3 times!) for a taxi for 8 people plus luggageTaxi that turned up was gaffer tapped together and seated 6 and we had to squeeze in!! Grim and awful

Driver did not show up
I've used this company twiceFirst time absolutely fine.Second time the driver never showed up - no cancellation text or other warning, just no driver. Phoned the company repeatedly & no-one picked up. Phoned/texted the number I'd got the confirmation text from asking if driver was on their way, no response.Wasted an hour & then extra time on public transport, would never use again.
