Delivery time changed without approval!
I placed an order and was given a delivery time. However, the delivery time was changed later, by over an hour (which I did not approve). I realized the change only after checking the app for its arrival. I tried to cancel and it said I would have to pay a $15 cancel fee. So I was screwed and the delivery which was a cake for someone's birthday now was arriving after the event. That is ridiculous service! I do not blame the instacart delivery person, they delivered at the time stated.However, if instacart is allowed to change the delivery time they should either, have to contact the customer for approval or allow the customer to cancel without penalty. I do not recommend using instacart.

Terrible I don’t even wanna give one star I will never order from them again through them. I wanted my food. Somebody stole my food and all they could do is refund me. What an inconvenience and you charge all that money for delivery fees. I’m done with this company..

Good Delivery. Added fee and higher than area sales tax.
Area sales tax is 8%. Instacart charged 13%. On $19.99, in addition to an increase in sales tax, there was a $2.50 service charge, an $8. delivery fee, and I wanted to leave a tip. So, in the end, overall cost was about $34. It's something to know going in. The delivery was absolutely on time and just the right thing! Only downside was the item I ordered was a gift and the delivery person didn't knock on the door and give it to the recipient. I hadn't let the recipient know ahead of time that the delivery was coming, because it was a birthday surprise. Without the recipient knowing anything had arrived, their item sat on the porch til I called and let them know to check for the gift on their porch. Just be sure to check in if you're sending a surprise gift!

They have absolute horrendous customer service!Don't fall for their "use your MasterCard & get 10$ off your 2nd order" because they will literally tell you every thing under the sun as to why it didn't come off at checkout. "My items didn't qualify" yes they did, it was not alcohol, a prescription or a restaurant order! "It wasn't enough spent" it was over 10$, "it comes off after your order is delivered" No it didn't! When I called, I was hung up on then left on hold until the chat disconnected, had agents just disconnect during the chat.. when I FINALLY got a solution, it was "I can only give you 5$ cart cash" If they owe you money, consider yourself screwed because you'll NEVER get it!

Absolutely horrible company! Offer false promises and memberships! Who wants to pay $105 for a membership on top of them charging on average $1 -$5 dollars more per item then the store to have it delivered. Plus you pay a service fee and a tip. Total rip off!! I will order off Amazon for that price!

This company is just a bunch of crooks. They take advantage of consumers with all these ridiculously high fees. It is never the price quoted and they take fee after fee even days after your shopping trip. You’re better off just waiting or finding another way to get groceries. It’s one fee after another and another it’s crazy and they should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of the poor population with all these absurd fees. I will never ever use them again as they debited my account a third time when my last shopping trip was over a week ago. Do yourself a favor and find another way to get groceries.

Just cancelled membership
Just cancelled membership. They don’t allow you to change shoppers. Every time I’ve ordered there has been some issue. Most recently I had a grocery order I needed asap. The shopper took 5 hours at the store messaging me about things back and forth. Finally when it came time to deliver my groceries, he cancelled the order and disappeared. The app refunded me and did nothing about this shopper who was able to waste an entire day in the store with my order and leave with the groceries and abandon my cart full of food that I needed. He won’t even get removed from the app and will keep taking peoples orders. I’m not sure how this app even makes money if that’s the standard. Now I have to get my own groceries and it defeats the purpose of the app. They also said they were making an exception by letting me cancel my order for no fee!

Never deliver on time
This is the second time that I ordered in the AM and paid an extra fee for groceries to be delivered between 12-1:00. It is now 2:15 just received a text that someone is now shopping my list. When you reach out to customer service, they are not able to resolve any issues.

The worst of the worst!! I will not be using these people again!!! They items arrived very late and the expiration on the food items was 2 months out!! When I rang instacart they could not do anything about it. Horrendous!!

Instacart uses main stores even if they are 50 miles away from your home and you have a perfectly good store nearby with all the items. I ordered through Whole Foods and they sent a poor shopper 50 miles to drive to my home when there is a fine Whole Foods WITH ALL THE ITEMS I WANT near my house. The poor shopper was exhausted and i had to apologize profusely.

Both times i placed orders I had missing items, yet my credit card was charged for all the missing items. The first order they gave me a credit for the missing bananas which was $1.39. The second order I had 3 items missing which totaled $11.75 and they wouldn’t give me a credit or give me a refund.Poor customer service would recommend not using instacart.

Service has gone way downhill
I had ordered from Instacart, which I’ve done for a while now and until today I would’ve been considered a satisfied customer. I put in an order it was considerably late then the girl calls me and cannot find my condo so I sit on the phone with her and have to give her step-by-step instructions on how to get to my condo. She finally arrived at my door and then refuses to deliver to me because she says “I’m intoxicated“ which was ridiculous and insulting. I called Instacart to file a complaint and they were really unhelpful. I’ve decided to stop using their services. I recommend that you do not start with them.

I just got an email today saying a customer didn’t get their order. I want to mention that there has been multiple times that Instacart has provided me with the wrong address to the customer. Idk how that happens but I deliver as requested to the address my GPS directs me to. If the customer doesn’t get the order there is some technical issues going on in the app that needs to be investigated because it’s happened multiple times. I apologize to whoever the customer may be that didn’t get their order I would be upset too. But I do my job really well and barely have any issues.

UPDATE: After my persistent follow-up, Instacart finally admitted the mistake and confirmed that the $15 fee was charged in error. They have now processed a full refund.I have been a loyal customer for over 4 years and was always very satisfied with the service; it made my life so much easier. That is why I was so deeply disappointed when this happened for the first time—being charged unfairly and feeling like my loyalty didn't matter to them. I am glad they eventually took responsibility and resolved the issue. Case #82738389."

Chat Support Rep Lydia, Disconnected Me on My Honeymoon On My First Order
So we are on our honeymoon and just got back to our hotel from a 5 day cruise. We don’t have a car with us so we found a grocery store, Publix, within a mile of our hotel and it offered free delivery. We are from Colorado and have family in Florida in Port St Lucie who suggested Publix, we don’t live in Florida and are honestly at the mercy of a few friends and family who’ve lived here a few years but also came from Colorado. Only problem is somehow after our first and only ever order was dropped off, we were charged an additional $8 for an instacart fee and additional fees totaling $13. It was supposed to be a wait and save order with free delivery, and definitely wasn’t big enough to justify $13 of extra fees. When I reached out to chat, the rep Lydia, was absolutely horrible, and tried to say that the phone number I have had for 7 months or so was once used for an instacart order from what I assume was a few years ago? I don’t know how long it takes for them to recycle a phone number. Lydia also confirmed that my email had never been used, and I’ve had that email since college and I’ll be 39 next month. Had a situation where my old number had been compromised and was being hit up by scammers. When I tried to tell her this, that the phone number was a new one for me, she repeated again that she was not going to help me, that she’s sorry I didn’t understand but someone had used instacart before who once had my number even though they confirmed my email was never used before. And then while I was trying to chat back, she disconnected me mid typing from the chat so she didn’t have to deal with me. I was not rude with her whatsoever, and I’ve never in my life been treated this rudely by any customer service rep, or company, in any state. We will be disputing the charges with our credit card company since we did not authorize the additional $13. And since instacart lies, we will never use instacart ever again, or any store or business that participates with instacart. It’s the first and last time we make that mistake, especially with the rude chat support, Lydia. I came to add that as of now we have 3 pending charges for different amounts on our credit card totaling around $150 for what was supposed to be $37, that $150 we need to cover our hotel room for a second night since our flight home is now on Tuesday. Absolutely the worst experience ever!

Beware auto renewal policy
After signing up during the holidays last year in order to assist a high school basketball team, I had apparently clicked on something that said I wanted an automatic renewal. Holidays this year were extremely busy and I missed the auto renewal come through. I reviewed my credit card statements and saw that I was charged. I contacted their customer service and after 20 minutes was told that I had five days only to cancel my renewal. Otherwise there was no refund.I would’ve been fine with a prorated refund, which is what I had asked for. Instead, they offered nothing and stuck to their five day policy.I consider that poor.

This is a stupid, dumb, and idiotic company that has no clue how to run a business. I placed an order for delivery, received the initial delivery time, but my order was not delivered. When I checked what was going on, it showed that it would be delivered after another hour!!! I was already waiting too long, and man... 2+ hours just to get bread made me furious. After contacting the customer support I was told they can’t do anything about it… I would NEVER SHOP FROM YOUR RIDICULOUS SITE, INSTACART. You people are terrible!!!!!
