If I could give zero stars, I would.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Highly discourage anyone from using this site. I ordered my very expensive textbook towards the end of January and spent weeks waiting on it, attempting to be in communication with customer service because the shipment was continually/endlessly delayed. They ended up telling me they were going to reship it to me and have the package "expedited" (still with an estimated delivery date more than a week later). They told me to reach out again if my order was not delivered by that estimated date, which I did. They did not get back to me. I reached out yet again, at this point more than 6 weeks after ordering the book (which was the primary textbook for a class in my graduate program, and therefore entirely key that I needed it ASAP), and they finally got back to me informing me that my textbook was never reshipped because they didn't have it in stock. I went through all this trouble thinking it was a more affordable option than what was available on sites like Amazon, and went through hell for it. They are allegedly going to refund me the $130+ I spent on the book. Immediately took my business to Amazon, a consistently much more reliable source. I regret ordering from Knetbooks in the first place and I can guarantee I will never be ordering from them again. While their customer service was usually relatively quick to get back to me, they were never helpful. I would have expected them to offer me a voucher or some kind of apology for their terrible service, but no. They told me they would grant me temporary access to an E-book version of the textbook until the order was delivered, and they failed to follow through on that as well. Never. Again. Do not shop here.

Knetbooks.com experience January 2026

I was very happy to see that Knetbooks.com had 4 books I needed for a collection I've been working on for several months, maybe a little over a year. I decided to go ahead and order these to complete my set even though the prices seemed high - after all they were difficult to find anywhere. I grew immediately suspect when they broke the order of 4 books into 4 separate orders. Seemed wasteful, but, oh well - I wanted the books they said were available, didn't really care about their process. I meanwhile let some other opportunities for very good used copies to get away - I thought new books were on the way, after all. Well, one by one they cancelled the orders and left me high and dry. No explanations or apologies - no emails (explaining cancellations) or calls - just 3 out of 4 books cancelled and the 4th book 'Drop-Shipped' from someone who actually had the book. Gives me the impression that a few people are sitting in a basement somewhere with a couple old computers and no books at all. They simply say they have books, post high prices and cancel any orders that they can't make a dollar on by drop-shipping it to you from a real bookseller. Sad. I did receive the drop-shipped book and am OK with that. Just really disappointed in the 3 cancellations. Also worth noting - why did it take 10 days to get refunded for books they never had? Assume they use a huge rolling balance to earn interest while they hold people's money for books that do not exist.

This is the WORST book rental site I've…

This is the WORST book rental site I've ever dealt with. They delivered to me the wrong book I ordered. When I tried to contact them about it, I only got one text message back that asked for the order number, email, and my name. I tried to email them but I never received a response. They leave no phone number on the help desk on their website. Now I am stuck trying to cancel the purchase and I have a textbook that they won't tell me how to return. Don't waste your time.

Books initial delivery was delayed and fraudulent return policy

Books initial delivery was delayed by weeks. Turns out my son never even used the book (never opened it), professor used an online version. We returned the book exactly as delivered following their shipping instructions and THEIR shipper, and we were charged a replacement fee ( cost of the book) due to undisclosed damages they claim we did. Company is a scam and a fraud. Customer service never answers calls and they don't reply to emails. We are disputing the charge with our credit card company. Stay away from them!

Terrible support ticket response, false fraud flagging.

Had an order canceled within a day, took 3 or 4 days to get a refund. Took a whole week to get a support ticket response saying it was because it looked like fraud. Refused to give a straight answer. Went to another company to order what I needed, and got it shipped before Knet even responded to the ticket.Go with anyone else, it's not worth the headache.

A3 star rating is too high for this place

The negative reviews are no exaggeration, this company is truly awful. I wish that I had read the reviews before attempting to do business with them. My first order was cancelled because the company claimed that there was suspected fraud on my credit card (I've never had this issue with any other company and this credit card). Placed another order with another credit card, and it took them a week to finally cancel that order, with the excuse being they have no supplier for the book. After looking up this company, it seems they run through Manny different business names, closing some after complaints. If anyone ever needs to file a BBB complaint, the main company's name is under ECampus, but hopefully people stay clear of this headache-inducing company.

ZERO stars!

ZERO stars!! DO NOT order from this company. Their customer service is HORRIBLE. You cannot speak to anyone, instead you have to chat or email with a bot or someone who gives canned replies. Additionally their website is misleading. I ordered a book with the same ISBN number from my sons school. Instead they sent me an access code in an envelope. When I reached out to customer service because NO WHERE did the website or order form say I was ordering a code to an online class, all they can say is sorry for the inconvenience. Now they will not give me a refund. Do NOT order, this company seems like a scam and now I am out of $180. I will be reaching out to my bank for recourse.

awful service and lie

awful service, there is no tel #, no response to emails. Chat agents lie and over promise, they have no idea on shipment status or can provide timeframes if books are not available. i spent so much time on chat with the agents, finally they agreed to ship expedited which they did NOT, now it will be a month from order date and these are books for school, who can wait ONE MONTH ?? they gave $10 courtesy for future order (WILL NEVER USE THEM AGIAN) that they swiped away and DID not ship expedited, so really HELPED IN NO WAY, and NONE of their accommodations did they live uo to. DO NOT ORDER

This company is a complete scam

This company is a complete scam. I ordered a book and shortly after realized that we had already ordered it. I tried to cancel right away, but they refused to let me cancel it because they said it was “already in progress“. I got the book. It was in very bad packaging to where I could not send it back so I took the book out and put it in a padded envelope and sent it back to them. When they got the book back, they emailed me saying they would not issue a refund because I sent back a used version of the book and not a new. It was the exact book they sent me which means they are sending used books out for new books, and they are also charging an astronomical fee for “restocking“. They are refusing to refund any of my money and are not allowing anyone to cancel orders. Avoid at all costs!

Poor Operation and Customer Service

Rented a textbook from them. They waited 5 days before emailing me to tell me that they don't actually have it. I actually had to reach out to them to see what the status was, and it took them two days to respond. It seems like they do not have an inventory control system. You pay for a book and cross your fingers. It's a mickey mouse operation.

deals in bad business…

This company deals in bad business practices. They hide contract terms in the FAQs section. If THEY decide your textbook is damaged (they don't offer any proof of damage), then they will charge you the cost of the book, will not return the rental fee, and charge you a fee at their discretion without notifying you of the charge. It triggered fraud on my account, and they got away with over $300, and I had to get a new credit card, which I could not do for two weeks because they charged my card while I was doing field training for the military. Then they will not respond to their email or texts other than to confirm they received your message, or even to explain their policies. It was great and tempting at first to get cheap products under market value, but they make their money by cheating you out of it later.

Fraudulent company

Fraudulent company. They won't respond to emails or texts, and their phone line always says there are "no representatives available, call back later". Read the rest of the reviews. They are a terrible company that will take your money immediately, but won't provide a confirmation email, ship the item or respond to any attempt to contact them. Avoid them at all costs.

Frauds/CON OPERATION

Frauds/CON OPERATION. My friend warned me to take photos of my book upon receipt so I did. It had a very slight water marking and girls handwriting throughout the book upon receipt. I returned the book with plenty of time and in the end was charged my rental and the full price of the book, as they sighted the same girls writing and water damage.

Will take advantage of you

Ridiculous money hungry company. They sent me a book in very used condition, which I fully expected. The pages were falling out of the book and detached from the spine. I did the best I could and returned the book before it was due. Now they are trying to charge me OVER $100 for this book that they sent to me in that condition! They are claiming they sent me a new book. So sad that this major company is taking money from college students. I’ve called and explained the situation and was not met with an understanding or willingness to work with me. I will never be using them again and do not recommend them to anyone.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!! In December 2024, they tried to charge me a late rental fee prior to the rental due date. This past semester, I ordered two books. At the end of the semester, I returned both books by the return date (5/30/25). I received notice that the shipment was delivered on 6/2/2025. Today, I received a charge for $315.73 for one of the books they claim I damaged. I literally used that book a max of three times, so I know for a FACT I did not damage that book. Also, when I asked for proof of such damage, they sent me a picture of a textbook with water damage at the top of the book. There was nothing to identify if that book was even the book I rented. Regardless of the damage in that screenshot, I know for a fact I did not commit the damage. I spoke with a rep on their chat and told her to email me our transcript so that I could have proof of what was said and she never sent the email. I then sent a lengthy email expressing my concern and I'm awaiting their response now but I am not too hopeful considering they clearly seem to be in the business of charging people for things they shouldn't be!!To sum it up: don't order from here unless you want to be charged for some damage you did not commit!!!

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. Their policy is to charge you the rental fee AND the cost of the book if it comes back damaged AT ALL. For me that was $213.52 for the rental cost + $374.39 for their listed cost of the book. This put me at a total of $587.91. I returned a book with a few minor stains on the side of the book. The pages were not water damaged, though I admit that there was discoloration. Because I did return it with it in this condition, however, I admit that I owed them in some capacity. My issue is this company's policy. Most policies out there deduct the amount you paid from the total amount of the book. THIS COMPANY DOES NOT DO THAT. KNOW THIS BEFORE BUYING OR RENTING FROM KNETBOOKS. For how minor of a defect my own book had, it's clear that this company has no problem refusing your return and taking more money.

Proceed with caution

They sent me the wrong $280 textbook than was advertised and so I emailed customer service when it arrived. Customer service said I could return it for a refund as it was not my fault they sent the wrong textbook. Upon returning the textbook it took them about two months before they sent me an email saying they could not accept my return and would not issue a refund. In between those two months I emailed them after about a month of returning it and seeing it got to their warehouse, asking where my refund was. They emailed me back saying it would take them a few more weeks to process the return even though it is in their warehouse. Of course, I never got my refund for something that was their error in the first place. Will NEVER use this site again and will be telling everyone I can online, at my university, and sisters’ universities to NOT USE THIS SITE.

The book we ordered never shipped

The book we ordered never shipped. We requested a refund and that never came either. Instead of dealing with the company, I will probably just dispute it with my credit card company. This was the first time using this service and it will unfortunately be our last

DO NOT USE!!

DO NOT USE!!! When I sent the book I rented back they charged me $170, the book arrived in the same condition they sent it to me in. It was a well used book that I used twice, I didn’t cause the damage and I guarantee they still send that book to people and charge them $170.
