Refusal to ship or cancel, non existent customer service

On Feb 4th I placed an order for a fabric shaver. There was a specific brand that I wanted, and Amazon was sold out so I thought I would give Office Depot a try. When I placed the order, the estimated delivery date was 02/10. The weekend came and went with no shipping notification, and so I reached out via online chat on 02/10 to get an order update. The "virtual assistant" opened a case for me and "escalated it", meaning I go NO answer and I had to wait for someone to email me. I got a very generic form email back saying they were reaching out to the supplier. This goes on for several days (same email over and over again), so I finally call them. Per the other reviews, the call was VERY difficult due to a major language barrier and I explained that I would like to cancel and they said they cannot cancel, but they can put in a request to cancel. Then I got hung up on. So, I also put in a chat request to cancel. So far, I have received two emails saying they have contacted the outside vendor requesting to cancel, but they will not cancel my order, despite it being two weeks with no shipment. Absolutely RIDICULOUS customer service. Worst I think I have ever encountered.

Do not order anything from them online

Do not order anything from them online. Should it arrive damaged, or for any reason needs to be returned, it is not an option. I ordered a keyboard for a Microsoft Surface - my husband already purchased the keyboard so I didn't need it. They will not let me return it unless i go to a store location. Obviously they have very few locations and none near my home or office. No online return option.Adding to this review. I tried again to contact someone about a return option. Received several emails that they cannot because the product comes from a third party vendor who is not reachable to issue a return. I’m lucky it wasn’t a laptop or something really expensive. Very strange experience but hopefully this will save anyone from placing orders with Office Depot.

Blatantly false advertising, abysmal customer service

Office Depot’s website flat-out lies about returns, claiming online purchases can be returned in store when staff routinely refuse and send customers away. I wasted hours, including a two-hour call, was dumped on an unresponsive contractor (Veyer), and even had a $10 Visa gift card never delivered. Countless other customers report the same thing online—this is deceptive, systemic, and designed to falsely signal easy returns.

Can't be bothered to Deliver a 10 Ream Box of Paper

Ordered for next day delivery 1/7/25. Only a Partial Delivery of Items with the only critical delivery not occurring. Delivered K-Cups and did not bother to deliver a ten ream box of paper. Complained and asked for paper to be delivered on Sunday. Nothing. Called again today. Made me "cancel" the order and reorder instead of just freaking delivering the paper. Paper will not be delivered until Thursday. So eight days for next day delivery.

Office Depot posts store hours on their…

Office Depot posts store hours on their website that are incorrect. For example, several stores in Orlando, FL say they are open until 9 p.m. I had some printing I needed to get done for a client, and the hotel’s computer wasn’t working. Guess what? I showed up at an Orlando store at 8:20 p.m. and the lights are out. Closing time on the window? 7:30 p.m. They really need to get it together. Calling Customer Service is fruitless, as they just don’t care.

$600 purchase "lost"

Order placed for same day delivery before 11am. Store website stated the order would arrive between 2 and 3pm today. It did not arrive. Customer service was unable to tell me where the order was and stated it was shipped so they could not cancel the order. It was supposed to be delivered by Uber. Now delivery date is 5 days away per Uber delivery text. Website still shows same day delivery. Customer service still did not have the ability to give clear answers about the delay or where my order is. For a $600 purchase in this day and age it does not make sense that there is inconsistent information and no tracking ability for the customer or customer service.

no order shipment after 2 weeks

Item was advertised with 3-5 day delivery with 12 in-stock. Ordered item 2 weeks ago and it still has not shipped because of "out of stock". However, if i go to buy it again, it says 3-5 day delivery with 12 available. opened a trouble ticket a week ago, only to be told it's on back-order. Yet, the web site still says 3-5 day delivery with 12 available.

Ordered a filing cabinet 680.00, it was due on the 3rd on the 8th they said it was delivered, only problem was they didn't know where it was delivered. Finally asked for a refund. Stay away from them

Lied about delivery time, which continued for a week. Finally today they told me it had been delivered, just couldn't tell me where it had been delivered. Requested refund, not to worry, I'll never darken your doorway again.

I used to shop at Office Depot often

I used to shop at Office Depot often, but in the past few years, it’s decreased simply because the prices are not competitive anymore, but I still went there occasionally for convenience. However, they will never see me in there again after what I heard happened with Charlie Kirk. I don’t know what’s wrong with these people, but that was horrible. They won’t see me again. They may as well shut down. I don’t think anyone will have anything to do with them now.

Won't refund my gift card

I had a $45 digital gift card and tried to place an online order. There was a $5 and change difference. I got a confirmation email with this listed. I then got a notice that my credit card was charged the full amount. I called customer service and was assured it would come off when the gift card was applied. THEN my credit card showed 2 pending transactions, one for the $5 one for the full amount. I got a notice it was backordered so I just went ahead and cancelled it. My credit card pending charge disappeared but they took the gift card balance. It is now $0. I have been on several phone lines, multiple texts, multiple chats from multiple sources, transfers etc for HOURS and for multiple days. I am even getting cut off repeatedly and having to re explain this every time. They all insist it is showing it all went to my credit card. I honestly think they tried to charge me twice but regardless, I have gotten the biggest runaround on the planet with everyone insisting it didn't happen.Even when I call the gift card line I can pull it up on my transaction history, the transaction is $45 on that day for Office Depot and it is their own gift card only. I do not know why they cannot look this up. The gift card hotline just says "cannot be completed" when I ask for a human, I've tried it for three days now.As of right now, I still haven't gotten anyone to admit much less fix this issue.

Let’s be clear—this wasn’t obscene or propaganda

Let’s be clear—this wasn’t obscene, illegal, or dangerous material. It was an image tied to free expression and ideas, the very foundation of what America is built upon. When a business starts labeling a customer’s content as “propaganda,” it stops being about printing services and starts being about thought control. If businesses pick and choose what ideas are “acceptable,” then they’re no longer serving the public—they’re policing speech. That’s not neutrality, that’s bias.Imagine if the Founding Fathers had been told their pamphlets were “propaganda.” Imagine if abolitionists or suffragettes had been silenced because their message made someone uncomfortable. History proves that suppressing ideas never leads to truth—it leads to conformity and decline.Office Depot should stick to printing, not policing. Customers come for services, not lectures. If a business refuses to provide basic services based on political or ideological grounds, then it has abandoned fairness and joined the ranks of selective censorship. That’s not just bad business, it’s un-American.

Your employees are DISGUSTING. Refusal to print things for political reason is UNREAL. I will spread the word, and in time, you will fail. Your employees are despicable and if you do not fire them, you are as well

Don’t do business with Office Depot. EVER!

WORSE COMPANY! I placed an order on 9/3 for an A frame. They immediately call me because of a credit card issue. we get that fixed over the phone and the agent assures me that my order will be delivered on Monday, as planned. The order doesn’t show up Monday, Tuesday and then at end of day Wednesday I get an email saying my order never went through and to call in. I called in and speak with Office Depots Sri Lanka call center, which is A HORRIBLE experience. People BARELY speaking English and most of the time you can’t understand them so they apologize over and over and over and over. It seems like that’s the ONLY thing their call center is capable of doing, apologizing non stop. I was transferred to 4 different people and had to explain my situation every single time with them apologizing and telling me that they can’t help me. I asked the first phone agent to speak to a supervisor or manager to which he said there are none there right now but management should be available in a few hours. He kept wanting to disconnect the call and have someone call me back when management gets in the office. I instantly knew he was a LIAR! Why would a USA company who is outsourcing their phone center to India, not have management during USA business hours. (I called in at 9.45am) I was VERY adamant that I was not getting off the phone until I spoke with a supervisor or manager. After 3 minutes the agent said a manager is available now. So he transferred me to another phone agent so I got the chance to explain my situation yet AGAIN!!! After 40 minutes I finally got a ”manager” on the phone. To wish she began to tell me how it’s my fault the order didn’t go through because I should have called my bank to confirm the payment when through. That it’s not up to Office Depot to confirm payment was received. Which is REALLY weird because when I initially made the order there was an issue and someone called me immediately and said the problem was “fixed”! This “manager” kept cutting me off and trying to talk over me as I was explaining and asking questions.I finally asked the “manager” to stop talking over me and listen to me. This didn’t sit well for ”Ms.Manager“ because the next thing I know I was disconnected after being on the phone for 45 minutes. Oh, on top of all that.……The “manager” said that I could get my delivered on 9/16 now. Sssssssssooooooooooo………. Office Depot screws up this whole situation and then tells me I can pay full price for the stuff that was supposed to be delivered 3 days but I’ll get it in another 7 days. 🤡 🤡 DO. NOT. DO. BUSINESS. WITH. THIS. SHITTY. COMPANY. USA company, Outsourcing to India 🤮🤮🤢🤢
