What has happened to this hotel?
What has happened to this hotel?? Impossible to book a room online, endless loop that doesn't give you option to actually book. Can no longer view menu for Sunday roast and contact centre have no clue about menu. Was given number to speak to the hotel directly but said it was closed until Monday, eh??I am about to give up. Warner taking over is clearly not good. I have stayed at this hotel many times and have also used the restaurant as a non resident for either Sunday roast or afternoon tea and have had no issues booking. Joke

Wonderful Stay
Booking was easy over the internet, stayed for 2 nights, room was excellent, food was very well presented and lots of it, staff were friendly and helpful. Used the outdoor pool, lots of sun loungers by the pool lifeguards were on hand throughout. Complementary shuttle bus to Windsor was easy and saves all the hassle of driving and trying to find somewhere to park. This is our fourth stay here and we chose it for our wedding venue 8 years ago. Altogether a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Extremely poor service
When I booked a room on the website I requested the room I had stayed in before. I phone in the week 3 time to guarantee I got that room and upon arrival that room had gone. They gave me a upgraded room but had to wait over an hour before I could check into the room, and after a long drive all I wanted to do was rest for an hour. While I waited for the room I decided to order some food. I sat at the table 15 minutes before a waiter ask if I want anything, it then took a further 30 minutes to make a cup of tea.I’m writing this as I’m sat in the garden and have been here 4 hours. I gave up smoking but the stress dealing with these people clearly is to much. My advice is don’t book here as they stress you out so you spend more money on the spa experience. Never again! Extremely poor service. 0 stars

Booked in at the hotel for light lunch…
Booked in at the hotel for light lunch today. Ordered chilli baked potato. There were four in our party. All of the food arrived at the same time apart from the french fries which arrived 5 minutes later. My chilli potato arrived but was not chilli potato but tuna potato. As the group were all eating I decided not to send it back but to grin and bear it. However mentioned it to the waiter at the end expecting an apology but no such luck nothing at all. Extremely bad customer service.

A Lovely Champagne Afternoon Tea…
This is a review about a Champagne afternoon tea experience I had recently at Runnymede. I had had lunch several times previously at the Runnymede some time ago and had been impressed with the service levels and quality of the food, so when a dear friend gave me a birthday voucher for Champagne afternoon tea, I was looking forward to the experience. I called and made the booking approximately 4 weeks in advance for 5 November 2021 for 2.30pm. As it turns out my cousin and I were planning to arrive a bit later so I called and changed the time to 3.30pm which was very easy to arrange. On arrival we were actually 40 minutes early, but this wasn't a problem and we were seated at a table reserved for us by a lovely young waitress called Millie aka Amelia who was ever so friendly. I think she must have been at the end of her shift as we didn't see her again. A chap called Alfie then looked after us, who I believe is an assistant manager. Alfie was so efficient, cheerful and friendly. He asked if we'd like our champagne brought over right away and gave us the choice of rose or brut. We went for the brut. We also said we'd like our afternoon tea asap as my cousin hadn't eaten that day and I'd had a very early breakfast. We were absolutely delighted when our selection of sandwiches and cakes and scones were delivered to our table. Alfie and the rest of the team were very attentive to our table as well as neighbouring visitors having the afternoon tea experience. Everyone seemed happy and relaxed. We opted for a pot of breakfast tea and later had a pot of Darjeeling tea, all served in very pretty crockery, the tea tasted just lovely. We enjoyed ALL of the sandwiches which were quite filling compared to an afternoon tea I had elsewhere a month or so ago. the salmon sandwich was delicious as were the chicken, cheese, aubergine, cucumber and ham sandwiches. We managed to demolish the scones too and made an attempt at the cakes but sadly there was no room. The staff were more than happy to pack the rest of the cakes up for us to take away. We moved to another table after finishing the afternoon tea as we were very full and wanted to sit at some comfortable sofas and spent another hour or so with a couple more drinks. The whole experience felt very luxurious and we felt the staff couldn't do enough to make our visit really pleasant and enjoyable, so kudos to the whole team at the bar and lounge area.I look forward to visiting again!
