They won't give me my shoes back!
I sent for repair a pair of climbing shoes with a broken strap of normal use that were still under warranty, expecting I would get either a new pair of shoes or a refund. The company was always very slow to answer but eventually they said I would get neither of those. So, I asked for my shoes back. Simple, right? I have been waiting since November of last year for them and still nothing. Very bad customer experience.

Absolutely do not buy from these con artists
Terrible quality, arrogant delusional customer service. When paying a premium price, you expect at least a half decent product. Stitching went after very light wear and they tried to claim excessive rubbing and wear in that area. They must be viewing different pics to what I sent because that is clearly not the case. They should get zero stars but that isn't possible.Under no circumstances give this company a single cent of your money.

Huge disappointment
Huge disappointment. Both with La Sportiva´s customer service and La Sportiva´s product (gaiters).I bought La Sportiva's gaiters and have mailed them many times, but they have not followed up on it. Their customer service:I ordered S / M, but the arrived product only said S. It seemed too small. Their website didn't say what shoe size it corresponded to, so impossible to know when you order the product from their website. They replied that they would get back to me, but nothing happened, then they replied that they had never heard from me (!) and that they would forward my request, which they didn't do either. I mailed them several times after that, but got no response from them at all. They forwarded me to a different company, who has nothing to do with them at all. It was a simple question, yet no professional customer service action taken from them.Their product:It is simply not up to acceptable standard. Already after one try, the cords fell off from one shoe, then off the other one too. Ridiculous. The hooks at the front didn't hold either but both detached from the shoes. The zip at the back went up (!), thus the gaiters fell down and the whole point in using them was gone. The top of the heel didn't stay at the ankles either, but curled down, so again the point in using them (=protection) was gone, as dirt, gravel etc got in between and inside of the shoes and was bothering the feet. Usesless product.I have tried them with La Sportiva's own shoes (Blizzard), and also similar, so they should indeed be compatible. The gaiters were expensive, so they should hold a standard, which they don't.Useless product, very bad customer service.Hope this helps for other people looking for gaiters.R gds MS

Worst shoes ever for such high price!
I will start by wishing if I could it the lowest possible star if I could! one of the worst shoe experience I had, from customer service to the quality of shoes to the amount of money you spend on! I bought of shoe which photos are added also here in beginning of April 2025 , after getting tired of trying other shoes stores in Trento. They gave me this shoe of 215 Euros , that is not small amount for the shoe though, I risked to buy so I bought during buying couple of young guys who run the shop also assured me that it has 2 years warranty, if if things break in shoe I can return! taking on to their promised I bought it. With in just just month I started to feel that I am tricked to buy the most lowest quality for the highest price. The shoe was extremely hot inside, though it says its breathable but not at all. It is extremely hot that it your feet turn into the seekness. Secondly its sole started to getting off from the parts, thirdly you could feel the water coming in in rain , though promised as the water proof. Upon returning it to the stores, it went through the Italian bureaucracy and later upon asked telling me that they can't return! The young seller at the shop trying to give me thousand excuse but useless. I returned 2nd time they didn't accepted. the story is long but I will make a video also. I think they make this shoe in china for 10 euros and sell here for 215 euros. all tricked. I lost the money! will never suggest anyone to buy this low quality.

Shame on you…
My husband and I both bought trainers through a company. We both had issues with our trainers, wear and tear after a short space of time. La Sportiva refused the warranty and gave ridiculous reasons why their product is not to blame for the issues we both had. I will never buy a LS product again. Shame on you!!

I'm giving a one star because the system won't allow zero stars. The hiking shoes (ultra raptor 2) arrived in early June 2025 and I found that the fit was uncomfortable. The way the boot is constructed allows no flexibility. I wanted to be reimbursed 180 pounds plus costs. I sent the boots back right away. It is now August 3rd. I am told repeatedly that the boots are "with Italian customs." I am certain the company knows this process is long and convoluted. I bought these boots in good faith and should be reimbursed in good faith. I find La Sportiva unprofessional, unethical, and appalling. This is the worst service I have ever received. Please avoid any of its products. After all of this time and the same feeble excuses, I can say that this company has effectively stolen my money. Caveat emptor!!!!

La Sportiva climbing boots BROKEN after 15 DAYS!! Company takes NO RESPONSIBILITY
I bought the La Sportiva Trango Tower boots in July last year. I’ve taken them on just two mountaineering trips in the Alps, fewer than 15 days of actual use, and the front section is already visibly worn out. These are supposed to be high-end mountaineering boots. They’re marketed for serious use in alpine terrain, and yet they’ve lasted barely more than two weeks. For the price, and from a brand like La Sportiva, I expected at least a few years of use before this kind of degradation. NOT 15 DAYS! Note - these boots have been used NORMALLY (i.e. normal hiking in mountains, going up in snow, nothing out of the ordinary).I contacted La Sportiva and their response (after TWO months) was, "The sole of the Trango line features a front section known as the “Climbing Zone,” which is made of a softer material compared to the rest of the sole unit. This design is intended to provide enhanced grip and adherence during climbing activities. Therefore, it is normal for the front area to wear out slightly faster than the rest of the sole."Seriously? So you design a boot for technical alpine climbs, make the front section deliberately soft, and then wash your hands of any responsibility when it falls apart after minimal normal use? That's just bad design. This is not a serious company. They don't respect mandatory consumer law (which provides customers of redress against defective products). Buy from Scarpa instead or another company. But avoid La Sportiva like the plague.Legal action is currently being considered.

La Sportiva is not a UK distribution…
La Sportiva is not a UK distribution point, your trainers will be sent from Italy, so you will incur import duties ****this is not clear on their website****. You will also have to wait a long time for them probably 2 weeks and their courier Fed Ex will not give you accurate date for delivery and ask you to stay home probably for 3 days to get your delivery as they dont update ETA's. I strongly don't recommend you by from them. Their shoes also are very narrow, come up very short, how that works for you will mean back and forth, can you really spare the time shipping back and forth to Italy, of course not. If you must by La Sportiva seriously consider driving to a stockist as you'll need to try them on as they're so hit/miss on fit. So order experience is 1/5, Fit 2/5, Value 2/5 actual shoes are 3/5 for the Prdigio Pro seriously over hyped. I'd recomend just go buy a pair of HOkA, Asic, Nike, Saucony, ON, New Balance they all do a 5/5 job compared to La Sportiva.

Not the La Sportiva of the past :( - DO NOT BUY
Just like many of the reviews below, La Sportiva are no longer to be trusted. I was a huge fan for decades, swearing by their quality and robust build, but no longer. There post sales services is hopeless. Their "false" sustainability and resoling service seems to be fake. After 30 years of wearing their shoes, I will NEVER by supporting or buying La Sportiva again. :( Saying that, I have found that Mammut now fulfils the service and quality that I expect from high end outdoor goods.

LaSportiva just lost a sale!
I've contacted customer service leaving 2 voicemails and multiple emails regarding their offer of a 15% discount if I signed up for a newsletter. I never received any support or return call. I'm ready to buy. They just lost a sale.

La Sportiva is sooo pickey about Returns
La Sportiva is sooo pickey about returns, I wore a pair of women's hiking boots Ultra Raptor II around house for a few days, and determined they were just too small. I tried to return them and LA sent them back. Further they are uncomfortable and very expensive compared to other hiking boots.

Terrible Customer Service
I am extremely disappointed with La Sportiva's customer service. I have been trying to get a simple replacement buckle for my Vega touring boots for six weeks now - without success.Instead of sending me replacement parts in a straightforward manner, I was first referred to the original dealer (who I can no longer visit in person), then to a Norwegian distributor Atello, who turned out to be inactive. After countless emails between La Sportiva and the Norwegian distributor, I was repeatedly put off or ignored. It seems as if they just wanted to send me round in circles instead of finding a solution. Conclusion: Poor customer service, no commitment and no willingness to really help the customer. If you need a reliable supply of spare parts, you should think twice about using La Sportiva.

Avoid if purchasing outside EU - hidden duty tax
Purchased shoes and T shirts. Paid the delivery charge. The delivery was quick however 4 weeks later an invoice for £70 duty tax has come through. There was no warning about duty at the checkout point. I consider this to be deliberate even if there is on the website information on duty tax. I also consider that the company should not permit a purchase unless the purchaser is made fully aware of duty tax at the point of purchase.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SURPRISE ADDITIONAL CUSTOMS COSTS
Similarly to some of the other reviews on this website; I am based in the UK and I bought a pair of shoes directly from the La Sportiva website and there was no mention of additional surprise customs costs due to not being in the EU. Customer service is appalling directing me to the T&C page to find out about customs. There needs to be complete transparency with regards to costs when purchasing a product as that will inform decision to purchase the product in the first place.

Poor Quality
Bought a pair of Ultra Raptor Mid GTX boots in a sample sale a couple of years ago. After a few months one of the fabric eyelets on the ankle cuff detached making it more difficult to tighten the boot. Later, the other ankle eyelets started to detach and are now hanging by threads. Also the ankle cuff material on one boot has now come away from the lower part leaving a gaping hole in the achilles area. If this is a sample of La Sportiva footwear, I'll be sticking with Scarpa in the future.

Really poor customer service
Really poor customer service. We bought new approach shoes for our son directly from La Sportiva as his size were not available elsewhere. Delivery speed was great.Issue came when we faced a £82 tax/import bill for the apporach shoes that cost £160. We are aware that there may be taxes as the UK is not part of the EU, but £82 is high/unreasonable. There is no suggestion of the high costs prior to orsder. We have never had this from any other mountaineering company before based in the EU.Contacted La Sportiva, but they did not care, just gave arogant reposnses. We will not be using La Sportiva again and will warn others in the community to avoid this company for the future.
