Do not return deposit
Booked a stay for my son. Apartment was not one we booked but not a massive problem. Place was basic, shower ran hot and cold. Main problem is they cut contact and do not return deposit. Booking. Com are no help, lesson learned should have looked at these reviews before I booked.

So basically my dad,stepmam,2xbrother,cousin,me booked into an apartment on booking.com and the pictures were luxurious,obviously looking at the pics we thought this would be the time of our life,so we went to South shields and tbh it was crap.all we could see we're ravers,corner shops and just eats.my dad told the 'worker of Alexander apartments' to move apartments she said yes but when we got there it was next to a pub and construction site.so we got in and poo in the loo,Chinese and nappies in the bin.my dad asked for a refund(3 days ago ) they still haven't got back to us.

We booked this apartment to visit family in Newcastle and to explore the city. We had good communication from the start and no issues getting into the property. We stayed for 3 nights, the apartment was very basic but clean. I think it was a good base point to stay, the kids enjoyed their stay here. I would say just some minor improvements, such as better bedding and a newer furniture. Overall we had a pleasant stay, it was warm and clean and generally quiet.

UNABLE TO GET IN. REFUSED REFUND.!
Travelled four and a half hours, with two young children only to be UNABLE to gain access to the property. Had to find last minute alternative accommodation. Tried to contact them and booking.com. Both refusing to give me a refund for something I had paid for and could not use. Abysmal customer service. They are now expecting me to sort THEIR mess out. Offered me complimentary stay. Who would want to relive such a nightmare? Made multiple calls before travelling, on the day of arrival and days after.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Could not stay at this property because when told the key was in the key box it wasn't, terrible trouble contacting them. Couldn't enter the property. Left a family with a child stranded in a new town. Had to find other accommodation last minute at 5pm in the afternoon (check in was from 3pm). No refund has been processed yet and they still have my £100 security deposit. I called multiple times and nobody answered the phone. Nobody at the property and no key in the key box. Oh and they sent us to a different address to the one we thought we were booking. Avoid at all costs...

PLEASE NEVER BOOK THIS PLACE
PLEASE NEVER BOOK THIS PLACE. This looks like scam. We booked this place and got an email that we need to pay deposit. When we got there, there is no one to pick up the key. We called 10 times but no one pickup the phone. We called Expedia and three hours on the call, they couldn’t book anywhere either. I would avoid this place and Expedia from now on.

BUYER BEWARE! OWNER HORRIFIC /UNPROFESSIONAL AT ALL LEVELS - CON!!! Property located in Disco /LIVE music / karaoke central of Newcastle city centre and a thoroughfare for drunks to kick bottles down the street and scream/fights the norm . Clubs close around 2am after which it sounds like a football of drunks screaming and shouting. The property offers sleeping accommodation but is not fit for purpose as zero sound proofing, glass front paper thin, music bounces off the internal walls! booked for 3 nights as a base as my son had to complete "final" exams at Newcastle University. Absolute disgrace. Moved out after one night of no sleep to be told "we have a strict cancellation policy". They did offer an alternative accommodation but as the Customer Service was a disgrace I would not take the risk as the current standards were so low at the property, it could only get worse. The noise broke around around 04:30am. For perspective there were approx 3 night clubs, 5 live music bars/ karaoke establishments. Legally this falls under the 'Consumer Rights Act and Duty of Care' . The owner of the property or person who is responsible for the property (I will come back to this) owes a Duty of Care to the tenants. In essence the property should have been 'sound proofed - to be discussed' if located in a noisy area - 'Duty of Care'. We moved to the Maldron Hotel less than 2 mins away which was sound proofed and Exceptional I gave a 10/10 rating or 5 STARS. The owner finally got in touch with me after the 3 days and apologised initially and sited the 'strict cancellation policy'. It ended with "good luck if you write me a bad review I will get it removed, and a note on the law my dear, I don't own the property I've been doing this for years I rent many properties so all that building reg stuff is not down to me oh and you are a pathetic person for complaining and I don't care, I live in Dubai so good luck finding me". DO NOT BOOK HERE !!I had booked a different apartment prior to this but was cancelled on the day before I was meant to travel to Newcastle so booking.com had given me the option of booking Alexander apartments as a back up. BIG MISTAKE As it was a back up apartment I didn’t read the policies of the apartment as I just assumed it would be the same policies as the previous one I had booked (had to be over 26) which I admit was my own mistake however before the payment had been processed I had sent my ID to them over WhatsApp so they were fully aware at this point that I was only 23 years old but continued to ask me to process the payment which I had done when they accepted my id. Once they had took payment from me they sent me a message to say I could not stay in this apartment and I could also not be refunded as this is their policy. Not only was I left with nowhere to stay ON THE DAY I was travelling but I had been robbed of nearly £300. They were aware of my age and still continued to ask for payment when they could of just told me at that point I was not old enough. I contacted booking.com who understood and they tried to contact them but they would not answer or respond so I took matters into my own hands and contacted the apartments. The women on the phone was rude from the minute she answered then ended up putting the phone down on me. I am going to take this further but I am so disappointed with the customer service and ignorance of these apartments!!

I booked this apartment for me and my mates to go out in Newcastle for my mates 21st. I received a text in the morning about sending a £300 deposit and my ID, once I proceeded to do this at 10:45 am I didn't receive any response till 1:30pm about how we were unable to stay there due to us not being 26. They proceeded to put us in another apartment with a £40 charge on top of it for a 'transfer' we proceeded to pay this as we had no other option. When arriving we were given 2 separate apartments which a double bed and sofa bed in each room, their rooms were freezing cold and dirty. One room even had blood in the bathroom and up to one of the walls. We message the women who have transferred us and requested a refund which we just received an extremely unprofessional and rude response. The women had no understanding of how uncomfortable we felt nor helped us with any refund. We ended up booking a different hotel.

Bizzarre Experience
I booked one of their serviced apartments. I received the booking confirmation. A few days later, on the day I was due to arrive, I received a text from them saying they had cancelled my booking because they have a 'strict no main guest under 26 years old pllicy' and that my booking had been cancelled. I replied telling them I am 40 years old. Quite some time later I got a bizzarre reply. I tried ringing the number but no one picked up the phone. I had to book somewhere else at very short notice because of these morons. What a totally unprofessional and weird outfit these people are.
