Please don't use this company as your travel insurance provider, seriously, don't. I've been battling with these guys over a travel insurance claim for over 6 months now, and I'm completely at a loss on what to do next. Every single week I call and reach out to them, and I'm given the exact same promise of recieving an update within the week, only to be met with radio silence. Rinse and repeat, for months on end. I'm honestly so sick and tired, I don't know why I even bothered with this company in the first place, it would've been better to have gone without at this point. I made an official complaint, and I can only assume it immediately joined my first claim somewhere in the void. Please save yourself the trouble and stress and go with a reputable company that know how to communicate and handle cases efficiently without leaving you high and dry. Utterly useless.
I was here wondering if I was the only person that has something to say , apparently I'm wrong , we are a lot , y'all need to do better. You have people that actually depend on your services and it would be quite unfair to let us down , especially at the moment of need . I have a pending case with you guys and if I don't get a follow up I'll come back here with a follow up
Easy to understand
The application process was seamless. I am yet to go on my trip, I believe all agreed policy will be kept and meet by AXA.
Everything seamlessly easy understandable
I have bought a yearly travel insurance policy via cover4you underwritten by Axa with additional cruise cover. Complex to claim online and claiming over the phone isImpossible, rude staff then they cut you off, worried about the rest of the years policy if they do not action simple missed port claims via their cruise cover policy.
Am in Dubai, stuck because of being in a war zone, contacted Axa for help. Told I’m not insured for hotel costs while stuck. Only covered if holiday is cut short! What a joke! Won’t be using Axa ever again
I’ve been in an exhaustive back-and-forth with AXA Insurance for over five months. After a 19-hour flight delay, I was clearly entitled to compensation, per their own policy—over 11 hours triggers a payout. Despite this, AXA refused my claim, citing a vague ‘operational issue’ from the airline—something that is not considered an extraordinary circumstance in the regulation. I provided endless documentation, and it’s been nearly half a year for them to say they’re denying payment. This is disgusting—it’s a blatant refusal to honor their own policy. I am appalled at the service. Other customers need to know so they don’t waste their time or money—this is a risk to their health, safety, and peace of mind.
I am a older person who is unable to send files.Agents were very helpful to assist
Absolutely disgusting the way I have been treated. This matter has been going on for over 2 months now. I will only be emailed for more documents in which I provide on the day and then do not get an email back for a further 10 days I have called the team countless of times and never get an answer on what is happening. I called today and spoke with Xavier who is extremely rude, threatened to hang the phone up when I asked for a manager and then huffed at me when I persisted. I expect to be contacted regarding this matter as this needs to be resolved immediately!
Would give 0 stars if I could.I've already left a review with Travel and Escape, which I understand is the sales arm of the branch, expressing how disturbed I am with the parasites working here and their general laissez-faire approach to answering correspondence regarding claims - that is to say, they ignore every single one.I followed every single instruction laid out in the diatribe they call a policy and given to me over the phone. I forwarded all paperwork and contact information within half an hour of getting off the phone with the agent.I have had no update. I am receiving letters demanding payment from American hospital service providers and AXA have done sweet f-all to communicate with me.Avoid this company like they avoid answering claims, they turned what should have been a relaxing and memorable holiday into a total nightmare months after the fact. I've lost sleep and had to go into therapy because of the stress these bandits have caused and I will be seeking not only compensation but for a formal apology for their appalling etiquette.EDIT AFTER REPLY: Fascinatingly, it seems AXA remembered how their email system works as I got a follow up not long after sending this review. After dealing with the utterly incompetent agent I was assigned, I was offered a pittance of compensation and informed they would not be able to assist with the claim. If you have any respect for yourself, avoid this company and do everything in your power to avoid them. Useless from start to finish and every member of the team is a waste of valuable fresh air.I am also livid that when I demanded to speak to a manager I got bluntly told I was talking to as high a person as possible. So I've simply emailed their CEO and will complain to them and the ombudsman directly, with the CEO office being infinitely more forthcoming in communicating with me already.Do yourself a favour: set your money on fire before you give it to crooks who have no idea what they're doing.
easy and clear
Dont waste your money. The policy might seem cheap. But if you make a claim you will spend months of your time trying to get reimbursed. I’m still trying now. Trip was in December. More forms to fill out today.
When I call they answer immediately and were very patient. I received an email 3 weeks ago to say they are processing my claim but I made my claim the second week of December and it is now almost March. Please please respond to my case it has been so long. Such a promising start but haven't fulfilled the claim yet. I will write a follow up review, hopefully of only positive things :)
My daughter Took out insurance for Pre existing medical conditions in October 2025 for a trip in November 2025, Filled in all the paperwork with her existing medical records Peanut allergy, went to the doctor late October with a chest infection and got some antibiotics to clear it up unfortunately it turned into something else and she had to go to hospital so was unable to go on herholiday, when she contacted Axa about this they said that her insurance was void because she didn’t inform them of her visit to the doctors, which I thought was very unfair, and made me ask the question of if she was able to travel and something had happened when she was overseas would she have been covered to which I was told NO even though a cold or anything that you go to the doctors for isn’t really a pre existing condition your insurance company can deny any claim so my advice is check and don’t use Axa insurance as they will do anything that they can to prevent you from making a claim that is valid, her claim took from November 2025 until February 2026 to get sorted out when she was denied
Following an accident on holiday that resulted in a trip to hospital and missing my flight home I have now waited 11 weeks and after many phone calls and emails this has still not been resolved and it doesn't help that they keep sending requests for medical history for my husband Wen I had already sent mine about 6 weeks ago as it was myself not my husband who put the claim in and had the accident. The incompetence of this company is unacceptable and frustrating. This is my first ever claim on travel insurance and I know in future not to use this company again.
Unhelpful company. My flight got cancelled on the last minute and I lost out on 4 days of a hotel and my holiday. I received 0 compensation or help. Appalling
Avoid taking holiday insurance with AXA. I took my winter sports insurance through them and the Leisureguard website. If you click "winter sports cover" when ordering your insurance, and then make any changes to the details you have entered ie. dob or name of address etc, the website removes the tick in the box for winter sports. I have now made a claim and they are refusing to pay. Left with a large medical bill with no compensation.
I had airline cancellation, I submitted claim for consequential loss of hotel at destination plus onwards travel It was refused and I was told go get from airline Don't bother with travel insurance from this company
