I recently went into Big 5 in Espanola…
I recently went into Big 5 in Espanola New Mexico and spoke to the manager first name Josh about a sale on a 870 12 gauge shot gun. I had him hold for me and I would be in within a couple of days to purchase the riffle. The very next day I called in to verify if he was in because he informed me that he is the only one in the store that can sell firearms. I called the store numerous times and left a message for him to call me back in regards to the sale of the riffle no one picked up the store phone or returned my call. I went into Espanola a 20 mile drive from where I live in hopes that the manager was in so that I can purchase the riffle. He was in but said he was too busy to make the sale. The cost of the riffle was just under 400.00 hundred dollars and by the foot traffic of this facility I could not believe that a store manager who should be showing a good example to his employees let this sale go out the door. Being a business owner and have employees I cater to my customers and would do everything in my power to please my customers since customer service is why I am still in business for over 20 years. This manager is a poor excuse as a manager for setting a positive example for his store employees. If Big 5 corporation was smart it is my opinion that they need to find better managers to manage their stores because its only a matter of time that they go out of business 400.00 hundred dollars is not a lot of money but by the foot traffic that this store has I doubt that they make that in a day on top of paying employees and keeping the lights on. I will never go into this establishment again and I will pass this bad experience to all of my friends and family. Unsatisfied Customer.

Bait and switch on add items and poor customer service. Manager was rude and arrogant. There is a poor selection and did not honor sale prices as posted in the pictured ads.

Absolutely terrible customer service
Absolutely terrible customer service. Went out on Saturday at 4:14 PM and waited at the binocular counter for approximately 10 minutes. Nobody ever came. I asked the employee how many employees were working today. He said oh about five. I only saw two in the store and there were only one other guest besides me in the store. Where is management? Seriously thanks for this cause now. With customer service like this it’s almost impossible, not to go to Amazon.

I was in Olympia store on Cooper pt road.i was looking for track pants. The store in Seattle had them.I asked to receive a picture of interior linen of the pants. Between both of these stores,my family and waited over an hour to receive this picture by email. The tall young lady was helpful, the young man was helpless and didn't know what to do and was hiding in back of the store not helping other employees or customers. Someone needs to check this store for efficiency. I will not recommend this store to anyone. I would like to speak to management about customer service helpfulness Sending picture over the phone is my situation here.

I visited the store in West Valley City…
I visited the store in West Valley City today to get a support for my ankle, the young girl that waited on me didn't know exactly what to recommend so she said that she would get the manager. The manager (Eric) came right over and couldn't help me enough. I'm 77 years old and have never in my life been treated so good. That was the 1st time that I have been in a Big 5 store and I'll guarantee you it won't be the last time. Someone in your company needs to call and praise Eric for working for Big 5. Just a great person. Thank you Big 5,

Slow order
Ordered shoes on 8/31, SIX DAYS AGOThey took the money out on 8/31 and it was pending for days on my debit card, then apparently the authorization dropped off and I didn't know. They drafted it again yesterday, which caused huge problems at the bank. Shoes have been paid for and order has still not been shipped. Might be a scam. Don't use this company if you need anything fast. I could have gotten a shipment from China by now

**⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Store Experience!**
**⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Store Experience!**"I recently visited Big 5 Sporting Goods, and I was thoroughly impressed! The customer service was outstanding—everyone was so friendly and eager to help. The store was clean, well-organized, and had a great selection of products. I found exactly what I was looking for, and the prices were very reasonable. The checkout process was quick and efficient, making the entire shopping experience seamless. I’ll be returning and highly recommend Big 5 to anyone looking for quality products and excellent service!" And a special SHOUT OUT to Kendall at the Big 5 in West Seattle...

Happy Customer!
I bought an item at Big 5 and 3 weeks later, the item stopped working. I didn’t even have the box the item came in anymore but I returned it to the Big 5 in Tehachapi with the receipt. No questions asked, I was given the same item as a replacement. Wow! How great was that - who does that anymore? The Big 5 employee was pleasant and understanding and I walked out a happy customer that will recommend Big 5 to family and friends for sure!

Customer Service attitude
I am a repeat customer, I usually find what I need but will stop going due to the rude salespeople. I have had 2 incidents at 2 different stores. One the cashier was rude trying to stuff water shoes into a bag for small items like socks and then he asked me if I could use my bag from the other store I just came from and told him no, I have blouses in them. On March 5th, I went to store on Juan Tabo to inquire about swimsuits for my granddaughters. Salesperson replied everything I have is on the rack, I stopped her right there and spoke I need assistance with sizes because I am not familiar with Speedo or Nike girls' sizes. Response" "Oh, the person who does that just went to lunch" Really? she could not be bothered to assist me? Not impressed and should be provided retraining and how to speak to customers 101. How many times will this happen?

Today I was at Big 5 sporting store on Douglas Blvd. in Roseville ca, the employee Chad went out of his way to help me find some good walking shoes, Even went in the back of the store and showed me shoes that was not on the shelf. The good customer service was great you don't see that anymore. Even wanted to show me a jacket that went with the Oasics. Thank you for good customer service. I will be back

charges to send back…
This company charges to send back returns when ordering online. There is no Big 5 where I live and I'm not spending $30 worth of gas to find the nearest store. I spent $54.00 on boots that were too small and Big 5 took $ 24.00 of my refund for the return. FedEx charges $10.00 for a 2lb package on ground service which is what Big 5 uses. NEVER AGAIN. congratulations Big 5 you manage to squeeze out every last dime! Shopping elsewhere from now on.

Arvada, Colorado special experience at the 88th& Wadsworth store…
This review is about the 88th& Wadsworth store and a employee named Stacey. I am handicapped at the moment and I had high hopes of purchasing some Skecher slip-ons. This person did so much above and beyond what anyone could possibly expect to see if she could help me buy a pair of shoes and not because the store could use a sale but because she could see I really wanted this to work. Unfortunately as hard as we tried it did not work out and she helped me out of the store. I am using a walker and her sole purpose was to make sure I was safe. She is one special extraordinary person who has gone through her own hardships and if I ever met someone who should be promoted and given a raise it is her.Thank you Stacie, you made a lifelong customer today

I just dealt with Tara at the Factoria location and she was absolutely fantastic to help me with my return on a defective pair of shoes. I've been going to Big 5 for 30 years now and the factorial stores absolutely the clearance the best place you could ever go she did a fantastic job I want to thank her for doing just being a good person and asking the facts making sure I had my receipt in the box and stuff which I had and just doing a good job so. I think Tara did a fantastic job and her manager was there to help her and it was excellent good teamwork across the board one reason why I will always give Big 5 Sports 5 stars.

I went to the local Big 5. Empty shelves. Didn't have the size of what I was looking for. Hardly anyone there. More staff than customers.

Planning an international flight and…
Planning an international flight and looking to buy a duffel bag with SPECIFIC carry-on measurements per airline requirements. B5 website has nearly NO size data on their bags, which is stupid. I tried to write their customer service an email to ask why this is, and they have THE MOST CUSTOMER-HATING website in the world: You must ID specific things like bridges or motorcycles to send the email, with images nearly impossible to view. After two mistaken tries it said "forbidden request" and logged me off. WHY WOULD ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND EVEN GO INTO A STORE THAT SHOWS FROM THE OUTSET THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING BUT CONTEMPT FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY PAY THEIR SALARIES?

Poor & Unpublished Return Policy
I purchased an inexpensive ($27) pool cue package about two weeks ago and have only played 5-6 games with it. The upper portion of the cue established a rattle of some sort. Each time I hit the cue ball it was thought there was a split in the wood or something was loose, obviously a defect. I went in today to the Moses Lake store to exchange it, possibly upgrade it. I talked to the polite counter person who said they would need to call a manager to the front. While waiting I went back to see if there was another one like mine. There was not so I decided to upgrade to a significantly higher quality set, $90. I got to the counter to finish the return and new transaction only to be informed by the manager on duty they do not take returns on pool cues because they are like baseball bats, an "impact" piece of equipment, store policy. Their return policy on their website clearly states no returns on bats and to refer to the "in-store policy" which there was a link to. That policy further defined non-returnable items, nowhere mentioning pool cues. I explained that I was about to purchase something of far greater value with a higher profit margin, to which the manager said "I would get in trouble if I allow this return." I asked for the next level of management's phone number, to which he provided me their corporate customer service number. I then asked for the actual store manager's name because I want to speak with someone locally to resolve this issue, which I got but they are not in today. In the past three years I have spent about $1,000 on merchandise in this store. Seems a shame to lose a customer over an unpublished return policy and $5.00 profit when I was ready to spend far more than that. I'll let you know how it goes.

Purchased an instore weight set that…
Purchased an instore weight set that had a big instore sign saying '$299'. Because it was heavy I was paying more attention to getting it out than the purchase, and I was charge $349. I shouldn't have to remind a store to honor the price on thier big sign on the product display. Didn't notice until I got home (which is in a different town). Feels like bait and switch and I will not be shopping there again (previously purchased at least $500 a year in shoes, etc). Charge the price you advertise in store. Too many companies use 'dark practices' like this nowadays for me to give a company any credit for it being a mistake.
