We visited the recently opened ed,s in Sainsbury's Wakefield. The wife ordered porridge which arrived in no time. When she removed the lid it was full to the top with water, she tried stirring it and left it for a while but it was just slop. But the worst thing was the attitude of the girl serving, in my opinion she was just ignorant clearly got a chip on her shoulder. So don't think we will be returning

Very Disappointed – Used to Love This Place
We’ve been loyal visitors to Ed’s Easy Diner in Southampton for years. Sadly, today’s visit was a complete letdown.Despite the restaurant being relatively quiet, our food took 45 minutes to arrive—and only after we asked where it was. We could see it sitting under the hot lights in the open kitchen, untouched. Not once were we asked if we wanted a refill on our bottomless drinks, even though the server passed our table multiple times. The appetisers arrived with the mains, making it impossible to share comfortably due to the lack of space. The seasoned fries were so heavily salted they were inedible, and the sharing nachos were cold. No substitute was offered, and no genuine apology was given. After we flagged the cold nachos, they were removed from our table and then left under the hot lights in the kitchen for over 20 minutes before being thrown away. This isn’t just poor service — it’s potentially a food safety concern. This experience was a far cry from the cheerful, attentive service we’ve come to expect. It’s disappointing to see such a decline in standards. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

Ed’s Easy Diner delivers exactly what…
Ed’s Easy Diner delivers exactly what you’d hope for from a retro American-style eatery—delicious comfort food, friendly service, and a fun, nostalgic atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with upbeat rock ‘n’ roll tunes and a vibrant 1950s vibe that sets the tone for a great meal.

Service at the Cheshire oaks branch of Ed’s diner was amazing staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The wait time for our food was around 8 minutes. It was also delicious. We never have an issue when eating here either with the staff , service or the food.

Don't understand food allergies
The Southampton branch are clueless. I asked the host about what was gluten free. My sister and I ordered gluten free sausage and egg rolls. Turns out the sausage isn't Gf after looking at their online menu. The staff couldn't careless, never bothered with an apology. I had to ask for a refund. If this was a nut allergy my sister and I would be dead.

Used to love their breakfasts
Used to love their breakfasts, they were unique with the sausage patties and very indulgent toast. Now, they have limited when you can order breakfast to early mornings only, which resulted in a wasted trip to Southampton. Then on a subsequent visit I discovered they reverted to normal sausages and the fried eggs were pretty undercooked couple with the food being cold.Very difficult to recommend when they run a breakfast only menu AM and still can't get the food out on time or to quality I've had in the past.

Awful bacon roll.
Had a bacon roll for breakfast at the Sainsbury’s Chippenham branch - it was appalling. If the bacon had been incinerated any more it would have been completely black. Absolute rubbish.

Unsuitable child’s menu
I had taken my three granddaughters to the diner for lunch. The price was very reasonable but the food was I consider unsuitable. The girls are not fussy eaters. However the chips were very seasoned and they found them too bitter and the hot dogs were too hotly spiced for a young pallet. They were not the standard hot dog sausages we expected. I did raise my concerns with the staff member when she asked if we enjoyed the food. I would say the child’s menu was not really suitable and perhaps you could give the choice of unseasoned chips and regular hot dog sausages. I wasted £15.00 as the girls didn’t eat the food.

Infection Control Comprimised
My wife and I fell in love with this place,Lion Yard Grand Arcade in Cambridge over the last Christmas Season, but we noticed the change in taste and saw on this date 1/2/24 during the morning a different cook.We went in for an early meal,I heard someone blowing their nose loudly, when I looked ,the cook was blowing his nose into something blue,he had on gloves,he did not even sanitise his gloved hands and continued preparing our meal.In addition,he wore no apron and pa Not you rt of his butt showed.I am one who gives persons a fair chance but this service was too nasty and unprofessional. My wife and I surely regard our health and as NHS wotkers we know about infection control, and this cook needs some training. We cannot eat from that diner again, and we cannot reccommend others also.In addition, the cook and one of the waiters were standing at the counter and eating with their hands from a plate.I am so sorry but the service there has changed dramatically for the worst.

Wasn't expected my Sunday to be ruined this way
I was hvaing a lovely morning walk on a Sunday morning. I went to the eds branch infront of the sealife of Birmingham. I saw the Ed'd easy diner which offered delicious breakfast. i came in and there was only one occupied table of a couple with thier toddler.I said hi, and all of sudden i was told by the female host that they dont have halal food..i got surprised hy her response becouse i haven't even asked her about halal food to begin with. Then i asked if they have a veg. Option Available she said yes. I wanted to sit on the window side but she said that table is for 4 ppl only, i told her politely but there is literally no one else expet for those couple and me..she hesitantly told me then you have to sit in this 4 ppl table.. whcih is the table next to the door. I felt upset the way she was talking to me as a human being and as a costumer but i just ignoredit and thanked her... but what made me feel more upset is the fact that thet were 2 other couples came and she offered them to sit in the 4 seated table. As i assumed she would offer the other 2 couples to sit on the 2 ppl table, but she didn't, and happily offered the 4 ppl table. So the point wasnt becouse she was concerned that she qould fill the more than eight 4 ppl table, but it was becouse of something has to do with me The rest of the staff were extremely nice and came to check on me if i need any thing multiple times But i was really upset about how i was treated by the female staff. And i felt i was treated based on the way i looked or what she thought my religion was.

Dont eat here
Me and my wife was attending a gig at the birmingham arena, we arrived at 18:30, was not told of any delays or waiting time and was given a seat immediately,it was not super busy but being in birmingham normal business i suppose, we ordered 2 x burgers and onions rings nothing excentric or exhaustive, at 19:15 food still had not come, a couple behind us spoke up and said they needed to cancel food as they had to leave as they had waited for an hour, we then stated the same as gig was due to start at 19:30 and we was told to wait for the manager, we waited 5 minutes and then said look we need to pay for drinks and go as you cant enter gig after 19:30 and we needed to cancel food as no manager was coming, then this short lady with top knot i am guessing she sounded italian manager came over and said we will need to pay for drinks which we did (which was what i felt is disgusting since we had waited 50 minutes for a burger and chips not exactly rocket science), then two young ladies also said to manager we need to pay and go to which the manager said "just sit there and wait and il deal with you next" (rudely) they then said "we have been waiting for 65 minutes and we cant wait no more as the gig starts" to which the manager replied "well go then just go" (again rudely) now i did not reply to this my wife dealt with payment because i would of lost my head with the pure rudeness of the manager to a customer, this is the first and last time we will be using eds diner and for us to wait for a burger and chips 50 minutes i think is absolutely ridiculous, we get served for a sit down meal at any restaurant with higher levels of standard of food faster than this, to say this was a poor expirience is an understatementIf we was told upon arrival it would be as long as it was we would have left but due to food not being cooked and late arrival time into venue we had nothing to eat until 22:45 on way homeIn the current climate people are trying there hardest and i dont blame the staff but it was Disgusting service and totally unprofessional from the manager and handlingnof the whole situation, it was only last second we was given an apology and nobody kept us up to date and said sorry thing are running late, nothing, now working in a service where customer service is paramount to your business and it is all about the custlmer journey this is not good for your business and reputation

COFFEE? it should taste of something!!
Visited lunch time today.. told breakfast service had concluded & they wdnt be ready to seat lunches for 20mins. We asked if we cd just sit & have a coffee and milkshake...the milkshake was nice but served in a grubby galvanised metal container. The coffee (flat white supposedly) was half a mug of pale dishwater with a scummy foam top...it tasted of absolutely nothing. I took 3 sips & gave in. It was hot and the waitress was pleasant. I told her it was quite possibly the worst coffee I had tasted, she knocked it off the bill and actually didnt charge for the milkshake either but I think that was because she cdnt work out how to charge for 1 & not the other.. As Ed's is an "American Diner" they shd know.. 1 thing our friends across the pond will not tolerate is lousy coffee!

Decided to try the Southampton diner as it was part of Meerkat Meals. Table was booked and arrived and had to wait to be seated but was fine as we were early and still got seated quickly. The table and surrounding area were clean and cleaning was being undertaken. Meals were great and large. Service was great and as this was first time going and based on the service and food will not be the last
