Low wood bay. Low service hotel
Low wood bay hotel. Arrived lunchtime and cannot use facilities until 5.30pm. Restaurants all booked up. No space for guests!!!! Where are you supposed to eat? Chips in the lounge. What a joke of place. Don’t be fooled by their website!!! Concierge??? They don’t know the meaning of the word here. Stay well clear of this hotel. Total rip off

Busy fast road between Hotel & Lake
Winander Club Stay: Quite envious of the reviewer who was greeted in the car park on arrival, as we weren't even greeted at the building. We were met with locked doors & a sign telling us to go to the main Building.Don't be fooled by the website image of a cosy check in on a couch with a glass of prosecco (Eventually at dinner, the restaurant reluctantly provided the welcome drink, the 'sign' was unable to provide on arrival). We spent the first 20 minutes of our stay dragging our luggage back & forth between the 2 buildings.I offered the Low Woods General Manager the opportunity to respond to my complaint by email. It never got to him, being routed instead to a junior manager with no surname, who not unsurprisingly, handled the complaint extremely unprofessionally & defensively. Apparently my dissatisfaction with the absent 'exclusive welcome' on arrival & having to drag my luggage around, was the cause of the poor check in?The Winander building is reasonably new, so as expected the decor & fabric of the building is of a high standard. The views are superb. However, the supposed exclusive service was non existent during our stay. There are many hotels in the lakes that don't feel a 'sign' is an acceptable welcome for guests & fortunately, the junior who replied to me, is quite happy for me to use them instead!

Relax!
We fell in love with The Midland, on our first visit, 14 years ago and have just returned from our 16th stay. The staff are hardworking, friendly and professional. We did notice a few areas which require a little TLC. I'm sure these will be addressed when the company has recovered from the financial effects of the last two years. If you plan to visit The Midland please try and appreciate the slower pace of life.We witnessed a few people complaining to staff that orders took too long to arrive. Why are you in such a rush? Sit and enjoy these beautiful surroundings. Watch the staff expertly make cocktails. Have a chat with other guests. Listen to the pianist near the main bar. Enjoy the fabulous views that can be seen from anywhere in the restaurant, the Rotunda or the main bar. We often hear, in life, people bemoan the pace of modern life. The Midland is a chance to slow down and relax. Don't rush the staff, it's not a nightclub opened in some old cinema building. There is no big screen or deafening music. The food is spectacular, don't rush the chefs, let them do their job. Make a proper affair of your visit. Many of the staff are very knowledgeable about the building, the reception staff are the best we've ever met. The dining room and bar staff are attentive and professional. The housekeeping staff are so efficient and helpful. Thank you, to all the staff, for another lovely holiday. See you next time.

Lunch at The Midland
Myself and 4 friends visited the Rotunda Bar in The Midland Hotel Morecambe for lunch today. It was quite busy and so we were invited to put tables together to accommodate us. There was no attempt to help us 5 ladies and we were left to move the furniture ourselves. Then a booth became available so we moved. There was still a coffee cup left and the table needed wiping and after several requests someone came and took the cup and half heartedly wiped the table. The food was ok but again no actual service as when we had finished the plates were cleared apart from one which he couldn’t manage to carry but he never came back and it was still on the table when we left. I am told that there is no actual manager in The Rotunda Bar which was blatantly obvious. The hotel and surroundings are beautiful but need to be supported by good staff to ensure customers return which is not the case they all just seemed to ensure they did as little as possible. On a previous visit we struggled to get a menu so poor!

Fantastic Venue
Fantastic Venue, staff and location, the Midland Hotel in Morecambe. We had my Gran's 💯 Birthday party there on Saturday 24th July 2021. We were really looked after, food was fantastic, fantastic service. Really looked after vegan and other diatary requirements. Everyone had a lovely time and the staff were lovely. Joanne did a brilliant job managing it all. Guests that stayed over loved their rooms and said how lovely breakfast was. Just wanted to say Thank you.

Lack of Empathy
We checked in at Low Wood Bay resort on the 11/6/21 for a 2 night stay for our anniversary paying £760 and were allocated a basement room with disabled facilities Having booked months ago we were terribly disappointed and waited for over an hour to see a manager Eventually Tanya arrived Her response was verbatim “We are full What do you want me to do about it ?”I replied “ You are in Guest Relations what do you suggest ?”Her reply …..” You can leave if you want I won’t stop you “The lack of empathy and training floored me and I advised her that she should consider further training at Charm School if she were to have any future in the hospitality industry I asked her to consult her manager She retuned with a £50 off per night offer and with all other local options fully booked we very reluctantly accepted The hotel subsequently claimed that we had been offered a full refund This was not the truth or we would have accepted that and indeed left Late the following afternoon we returned to find our room not made up and received a telephone call offering us another room We were getting ready to go out for dinner and little point in moving at that stage A special occasion totally ruined by a dreadful experience and a Couldn’t Care Less Attitude Terrible

Awful experience at Low wood Bay…
Awful experience at Low wood Bay Windermere. Checked in 23/8/2020 and that was the best bit of the experience. Went up to our room (317) and the fumes from some sort of sanitising spray were unbearable. I would sooner have Covid than breathe those fumes in. The room was small, outdated and to be frank, for the money we paid, I thought we had come in to the walk in wardrobe and was looking for the main bedroom. We carried on and decided to stay. We went out for tea, came back as we were tired, tucked up in bed to listen to the man next door snoring in the joining bedroom. Bed sheets were all coming apart. There is cutlery and dirty cups left on shelves outside all rooms as well. Went down in morning to complain. Was told it would be sorted. Took 2 hours waiting in room to tell us the new room was ready but needed sanitising. Now in new room 2.20pm and it is what we would have expected from day 1. Much better apart from bulbs being out in the room. The amount of money we have spent, as well as an extra £24 to park a car overnight is just daylight robbery for an outdated and very tired hotel that really needs downgrading to at best 2 star.
