#1 the IRS and eTax website claim it is free service! It is not. After you fill everything out they want 29 to transmit return! I agreed to the fee since i spendt 45 minutrs filling out there forms. I just received my refund but because I chose to have fee taken out of return they charged over $100. Total ripoff. Buyer beware.
They took money out of my refund for fees I was not aware of. Bait and switch, false advertising, unfair business practices showing "free e-file", "start for free-fastest way to maximize refund", "e-file is free and included" misrepresentations. They kept 94.85, stole it! If I could give a zero stars I would. Then when I called them they hung up on me. Don't use this company.
They do not have the option to allocate the healthcare premiums to one person. My daughter was filing her taxes and needed to allocate the credit to me as she we were under the same plan for the household, it doesnt let you allocate and only lets her take the credit. Had to request refund and go to taxact who had the correct option.
SCAMMERS! You see those videos like the call center scams… yes that one… TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE- rude and disrespectful! Takes forever to reply! Horrible tax returns! Wouldn’t even help or totally ignorant with where I was living out in rural/remote! I would not spend a cent on these you know who! I don’t recommend them at all! I’d suggest you go find someone who actually knows what they’re doing!
I have faith in the accuracy and support offered through this product. Tax prep is not my forte; however, I never feel like I’m in over my head. Just follow the prompts!
Filing was super straightforward. Since my taxes are pretty simple, it only took me about half an hour to finish. Both federal and state returns were accepted right away, and now I’m just waiting on my refunds
I was worried about changing from my cpa to an online option, but my cpa was just simply getting too expensive. So I tried them out online. I was pleasently surprised. The experience was pretty frictionless. Everything was smooth and I got the same refund as I always did with my cpa. I'll use them again next year. I need to start using online platforms more often with other things too obviously lol
Stop using Etax or you will end up with debt and payable to ATO that you're not sapouse to pay but to earn the tax return. They take your money (even charged more if you need more help & that b.sht) and even more worse they are not responsible for any shit happens after... Beware with Etax, avoid it...
COMPLETE SCAM!!!!!!! They take advantage of people during their hardest times of life like losing a parent. I’m going to report them but i hope im saving you from getting scammed like we did.
For anyone who might have read my review earlier, I will correct myself after a call from eTax.com. The pointed out that the forms can be reviewed online. As to my experience since I was not getting a refund and normally specifically have the forms more visibly available, I did not see some extremely small lettering under the refund amount that said View the forms. I will give eTax credit for calling me to explain and they are refunding my payment.I would not even give them a star. I first had searched freetax.file and when I opened the website it was etax.com. I didn't really think too much about that. I went through all the steps with them expecting so see my completed tax return before filing and to be able to download a copy for my files. They did ask if I wanted to keep their services to store a copy of my form & I made the mistake of saying yes. Once I put in my card data, they immediatly both filed my return without me seeing it and charged my debit card. And, I did not get a copy of my return and there is no place on the account to download a copy. Then they immediately said the IRS had accepted my return and two seconds after said the IRS had rejected my return because someone had already filed using my Social Security number. They told me to recheck my information with them, make any corrections with them and refile. I checked and there were not errors. Now I have to call them to discuss the issue and actually, I want my payment to them returned for this horrible experience which I have never had filing before and I am 74 years old. In the meantime, a provider who filed for me in the past is attempting to help me, and I am seeing bad reviews for this company. If they do not set things right with me, I will file a complaint with the IRS. I feel like I have been scammed.
I called their customer service for assistance with some questions I have, the first operator was not able to explain it very well to my understanding, and he had to transfer me over to a second operator who was very very rude because I was trying to understand their solution to my problem. They are so impatient with customers, why will you provide a customer service if you can't provide them with a good experience.etax is not worth it considering their poor customer service, I am moving to turbo tax because they are a better customer experience
I use etax every year! Tax time can be stressful, since I started using etax , it took the headache out of filing ,and I always get the maximum refund! The software is easy to use, easy to understand and if u become a return customer, u get discounts as well as audit assistance and more! I have tried other tax prep companies but so far etax is the one I'm sticking with! ☺ thanks guys! See ya next year! #SatisfiedCustomerOnDeck
Very disappointing to do all the work before learning that my return would be far from free. They should have to disclose what you should expect to pay up front.
They advertise Free Tax Service but charge you after you spent hours doing your taxes on their site. Total Scam. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE
Worst rudest customer service ever! And l filed my taxes back in Feb! Now end of May. No refund and IRS (5differenr numbers) federal and local are available to talk to. No one to help from IRS AT ALL IS AVAILABLE! CRAZY
They over charge me by 60 dollars because I paid them from my refund for a simple return l called they were rude I will never use them again
To me lady was very disrespecting and commanding customer care, No manners to talk, without even listening and understanding the whole situation, she pronounced me fraud. Wasted my money on international call. https...www.etax....com..
I enjoy using them to file my taxes. It's easy and convenient. However, I do not like having to pay all various fees to efile my tax forms when I barely get any money back as it is.
took 16 days to get my state tax submitted because of etax internal problems but other than that experiebce was ok.
I always know I can count on etax with my taxes.Theyre knowledgeable and always take the time to answer any questions.
