Total scam operation! Filed both fed and state with them and they don’t respond to problems and keep sending me emails to file again after I’ve already paid them! DO NOT USE!!!

Complete trash. Won't ever use again. They cost me money, won't file my state, and keep giving stupid AI answers without any real help.

DO NOT USE THIS SITE
I have used this site for a couple years as they are an IRS recommended site. This year I gathered all my documents, entered it and rifled. eZReturn like all other online software supposedly catches mistakes and makes you go back and fits them before you can file.Assuming they had done their part, I got through the efile process and within 24 hours a mail was sent advising the returns were rejected and directed me back to exert for instructions. It said nothing other than ‘must mail returns’. No explanation of why or what needed to be fixed. Called IRS they said data missing but didn’t know exactly what. Long story a little longer….paid to FED EX state and Fed returns (&23.80) and will now likely be waiting for Christmas for them to figure out what’s wrong. Personally I think it’s a glitch in their software. If it appeared correct to EZreturn the something is amiss in their system. Told them I wanted the $24.99 back that I paid to file state….no go…Just needed to vent!

Non stop session-timed out messages
I have used this service for the past few years with no issues. This year, I kept getting Session Timed Out messages after every 2-3 questions I answered. I followed all of their suggestions to fix this, and none of them worked. I contacted customer support looking for assistance and no one ever answered me. I used FreeTaxUSA instead. Got it done in about 30 minutes.

Would give a zero if I could
Would give a zero if I could. Already did my taxes but decided to use this site to file. What a waste of my time. If I didn’t know what I was doing and just blindly let the software do its thing it would have cost me $500 off my correct return. And when emailing customer service about the issue I kept getting same AI incorrect response

Don’t use them
Don’t use them. They never submitted my tax documents. You can’t speak to anyone. They never answer the phone and they don’t call you back. They just send you an email. They told me it’s my fault I didn’t hit a particular button to complete the process. I have screenshots I. Which they congratulate me on filing my return. So now No get to call the IRS.

Cheap is not always the best answer
I attempted to ues this company for my tax return this year for the first time and was not pleased with there nonexistent costumer assistants. No way to contact then other than email, then wait 24 plus hours for an answer. I finally had to cancel my account on the 14th of April after struggling for couple of weeks with EZ Tax Return and went back to turbo tax were I completed my taxes in less than an hour and half and a larger return.

NOT free
NOT free. First, they didn't capture any Idaho state credit information, so my return was $100 less than it should have been, and then they tried to charge $40 for an "e-filing fee." Avoid this tax preparation scam.

Absolutely the WORST tax service ever
Absolutely the WORST tax service ever! I filed yesterday and keep getting contradictory emails telling me my federal return was rejected and to refile. Then I get an email telling me it was filed. Then they tell me it was rejected.No customer service option.I will never use them again.DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!

I'd recommend not using it: Costumer service is non existent . Avoid having some bad time and use another service, even if more expensive.

I have used them for 4 years
I have used them for 4 years with good results. HOWEVER, this year was not good. I did a couple of preliminary inputs of my data to know what to expect for my return. Due to life circumstances, I didn’t get back to it as quickly as I planned to file. Within a week, my status changed from eligible to file free with them to not eligible. None of my data was changed from previous input. No explanation on why that changed. Just AGI was too much! Really? A senior citizen on a fixed income? They raised the bar on that so I ended up paying $35 plus tax to get a return of under $20! Went to other sites, and got same popup. Too much AGI. I blame the administration with their fingers in everything precious to the American people. But a timely heads up would have been appreciated.

I would never do my taxes with EZ again
I regret that I done my taxes with EZ tax. Very refused to accept phone calls from United States every time I'm trying to reach them they keep sending me the same information it's not relevant what I'm looking for. I have a 11 years old. I have no money. I have put in my 2023 information what is going on I want to restart my tags were terror attacks again. EZ tax I regret doing my taxes with this company now. I need to file complaints on this company. And company for United States don't accept phone calls what kind of s*** is that.

The program is not calculating my tax…
The program is not calculating my tax correctly. I calculated the tax manually, and used three online tax calculators. My calculation is close to the online calculators (they don"t ask about age so they don't have the correct standard deduction). ezTaxReturn has a tax about 1.36 higher than it should be. No one seems to care at ezTaxReturn.

Warning DO NOT USE EZTAXRETURN
Warning DO NOT USE EZTAXRETURNYes - it may be free, but that is the only good thing about it. I just tried their software because the 'free' service I used last year now wants to charge me $50 for the same tax return forms as the previous year.Here is what happened:-entered all our personal info, income, expenses etc. without any issues-Their 'Federal Bottom Line' page indicated a tax due over $1200 more than what it should have been!- clicked on the 'why' beside that incorrect number and it brought up the Qualified Dividends and Capital Gains worksheet which shows your total tax due on line 25. The number there was correct, but the software puts in a number that was over $1200 more than the number from the worksheet. This was flat out wrong and I used 2 other services to confirm that it was wrong.So, you get to file for free, but this inferior software will cost you hundreds if not thousand in tax due. In my case over $1100Also, their software compute the overage we had through the Healthcare marketplace -guessing this would be a HUGE red flag to set you up for a potential audit.

I will Never use this company again
I will Never use this company again. I filed my taxes forgot to include a W2 but, I’d just wait until I receive my refund and then go back and Amend my taxes. Wrong! There’s no amend link on my homepage. I logged out and hit the link to amend for $9.95. All it did was have me sign back in and still no link to Amend! This is by far the worse tax service I’ve ever used!!!Update: I just received an email stating, I can now amend my taxes for a $20 fee! I’ve Never paid to amend my taxes! This is ridiculous!

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I asked a question while filing out my return. It took 7 hours for a return message that said we cannot help. While waiting for their response I totally completed and filled my return with TurboTax. It figures that the IRS would promote this company. They are both incompetent losers

Read others experiences first!
Based on feedback, mostly negative I will not be using this service! It's also a red flag anything a company does not have the means for you to contact them directly especially for tax questions. I'd rather pay a professional to file my taxes than be caught in Charolette's Web.

Eztaxreturn mislead me into thinking my federal taxes would be free of charge, off of the irs.gov page they are listed as such a service. When I filed with them I was unaware that also doing my state taxes would make me have to pay my federal taxes as well, let me be very clear, they DID NOT specify that doing state taxes would opt me out of my free services for low income individuals and in fact the break down at the end of the transaction stated that the federal was zero'd out. I am now negative in my bank account and have no way of coming up with the money to climb back out and will have to pay tremendous late fees now.

These guys flagged my tax prep as a fraud causing me to file my taxes after the April 18th deadline.Despite me having the 2FA feature to log in I had to send them a copy of my drivers license.I am afraid these people will take all the info they need to make a false identity of all of my information.This is the last time I would use this “Quack” tax free file service.I protect my identity like a wold animal.
