I tried this car lease website while…

I tried this car lease website while searching for an affordable vehicle option. The website layout is easy to use and I found some decent deals available. However, the response time from support was a bit slow and some details about pricing were not very clear at first. The process was okay overall, but I feel there is room for improvement in communication and transparency.

Disappointing Experience With Scheduled Vehicle Pickup

The first time I picked up a vehicle from the Auburn location, my experience was great, and I honestly had nothing to complain about. However, my second experience, this time scheduled for pickup at the Chestnut Hill location, was extremely frustrating. After booking the pickup 5–7 days in advance, I was notified only one day before that the vehicle would not be ready. This was very inconvenient, especially since I had already planned my week around this pickup and had many tasks to complete. What made the situation worse was that I was not offered a replacement vehicle or any alternative solution. I was simply told to wait. In my opinion, this is poor customer service. If the reserved vehicle was unavailable, I should have been given the option to pick another vehicle. Now, I am forced to wait several days for a refund, then make a new reservation, and wait yet another week for a vehicle to be ready. This entire process is unnecessary and frustrating.I am extremely upset with how this situation was handled.

My experience with Flexcar was…

My experience with Flexcar was extremely frustrating and ultimately a complete waste of time.I initially ordered a vehicle that was supposed to be delivered weeks ago during a 12–4 window, for which I took off work. During that window, I was told the car had glass damage that needed repair, then later that it was on the way, only to get another call less than 30 minutes later saying the vehicle was shaking while driving. I was given the option to accept delivery and take it for service myself or have it returned to their shop and redelivered. I chose to have it taken back. I was later told it needed new rear tires. This raised a major question for me: why was this vehicle not fully inspected well before delivery day?Delivery was rescheduled for a weekend since I couldn’t take off work again. On the new delivery day, I was told the check engine light came on while the driver was in route. At that point, I cancelled the vehicle (and was refunded).I decided to give Flexcar one more chance with a different vehicle, again scheduled for a weekend delivery. On delivery day, I was told they were behind and needed to reschedule. When I explained I couldn’t take off work again, I was offered delivery to my job (not feasible), or asked with a condescending tone when I could come pick it up, despite having arranged delivery. After more back and forth, I checked my Flexcar account and discovered the vehicle I reserved had been silently switched from a light gray (what I chose) to a dark gray. When I questioned this, I was told they sometimes swap vehicles for “something in the same color family” if they can’t locate the original. This is with no prior notification or disclosure. All grays are not the same, and this was absolutely not what I reserved. If I had driven an hour to pick it up, I would’ve found this out on arrival.I cancelled again and will not do business with Flexcar moving forward. Between poor vehicle inspections, repeated last minute issues, lack of transparency, and rude customer service, the entire experience felt disorganized and unprofessional.

Very bad customer service

Very bad customer service. They avoid email communication. Very demeaning on the phone. They will tell you they transfer your call and they drop the call or you end up with the same person. When you ask a question they reply aggressively so you just pay with asking about billing details.

Everything has been convenient

Everything has been convenient, easy, and I love the one stop shop for car, insurance, and maintenance. I have enjoyed the service for 5 months. My brother has been a member for a year and a half also.

I love my flexcar

I love my flexcar! It's a perfect deal for someone in a unique financial situation as myself and need time before I can do an actual car loan. I found flexcar and noticed the price including insurance was about the same cost as my 3 year lease that was just up on a 2017 car with over 150k miles. My fiexcar is a 2023 with 33k miles so I have the peace of mind of a newer vehicle with way better safety features. Thanks for helping me out flexcar.

$50 Penalty on driving score below 60…

$50 Penalty on driving score below 60 is a total scam.I talked to customer service several times. They do not have the detail report on those events (speeding, brake, conrnering) to justify it.Flexcar just try to rip off customer to have more profits.Flexcar is very bad company.

Flexcar has been one of the most…

Flexcar has been one of the most frustrating customer experiences I’ve had in years. After over a year as a loyal customer, I got into an accident that damaged my front bumper. Two days later, Flexcar hit me with a $2,000 bill. It’s steep, but fine—if that’s the price of doing business, I can accept it. What I cannot accept is how Flexcar handled everything after that. They told me the $2,000 had to be paid in full before I’d be eligible to swap into another car. Like most people, I don’t have $2,000 sitting around ready to hand over immediately. So they offered a “payment plan” of $500 per week, which I can manage. But here’s the part that is unbelievably unreasonable: they demanded the car back within a week and still refused to let me swap into another vehicle until the full amount is paid.So let me get this straight: Flexcar expects you to pay a large damage bill quickly, and even if you agree to their payment plan, they effectively take away your transportation and leave you stranded until you’re fully paid up.That might sound fine on paper to someone in a corporate office, but in the real world, a car isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. People need a vehicle to commute, to keep their job, to run basic errands, and to function. Flexcar’s policy doesn’t just create inconvenience—it creates financial stress and a real burden that can spiral quickly, especially when you’re already dealing with an accident. To make matters worse, Flexcar’s customer support was consistently unhelpful. Most of the time, the agents didn’t seem to know the best way to handle the situation. I had to call back repeatedly just to get basic clarity or a real answer. That’s not support—that’s a customer doing the company’s job for them.Flexcar markets itself as flexible and customer-friendly. In my experience, it’s the opposite: rigid, punitive, and indifferent when customers are under pressure. If I get the chance to switch to a competitor, I will do it immediately.

Excellent Service and the Car is in Excellent Condition

I used a similar service with Canvas, however, the company went out of business. I contacted Flexcare with many questions, and each time I received a thorough answer via email, chat, and phone. The customer service is excellent and friendly, which is unusual nowadays. If their support is outsourced, I cannot tell. When I picked up the car, Dee, the manager at the Atlanta location, was very helpful and friendly. I recommend customers take pictures of the vehicle and check tires before they drive/sign off. The car is in excellent condition. The monthly price is a bit pricey, but when you look at the big picture, it is reasonable.

I WAS DEFRAUDED BY FLEXCAR...

I signed up with Flexcar on 10/27/2025 on a Month-to-Month Lease Plan for $719.00 per month . I took delivery of a mid-size SUV on 10/31/2025. The car had several nicks and scratches on the exterior and had not been adequately cleaned on the inside. Nevertheless, I took delivery of the vehicle anyway. On November 30, 2025 Flexcar billed me for another month. I immediately contacted customer support and informed a representative that I would be returning the vehicle on the following day per the terms of the month-to-month lease, mainly because the costs associated with the mileage were too high but that I would most likely be renting another car within a few weeks or so. The representative informed me at that time that I would still be liable for the $719.00 since Flexcar had already billed me for the month although the month had just begun. He went on to advise me to return the vehicle to the hub location and request to have my outstanding balance waived on site because he was unable to do so over the phone. I made an appointment to return the vehicle through the Flexcar app and returned the vehicle to the hub location as scheduled. Upon returning the vehicle on Dec. 1, 2025, I asked the representative on duty (SAM) if I would be credited the $719.00 fee for the month of December since I was returning it on Dec. 1. He basiclally smirked at me in a suggestive way and said "whomever told you that we would do that here gave you misinformation" and that I would not be credited. He then basically advised me to keep the vehicle. I then informed him that I would return the vehicle within the week if I could not make the payment by then. As promised I returned the vehicle on Dec. 8, 2025 as promised and as requested by the Flexcar automated telephone message I received on Dec. 7, 2025. The car was not damaged in any way, clean and had a full tank of gas. Flexcar never mentioned to me that I had been placed on a Do Not Rent list. The app made it appear as if I were still available to rent if I paid the outstanding balance which was a balance that was unfair, misleading and predatory. On December 19, 205, because I trusted Flexcar and was in need of another vehicle, I paid Flexcar the outstanding balance of $782.91, which inclued an extra added on fee that was not explained. To my uter surprise, the next day I was informed by Flexcar that I was no longer eligible to rent and that my monies would not be returned or even prorated.Flexcar has numerous complaints on this site as well as the Better Business Bureau (BBB) platform and a number of others. What happend to me is not an aberration or one off incident. This appears to be a systematic pattern of fraud and abuse on the part of Flexcar. What ocurred to me in this instance amounts to misrepresentation, fraud and theft. Flexcar willfully and intentionally misrepresented itself and its terms, has acted in bad faith and has caused me undue stress and inconvenience. In closing, Flexcar basically robbed me of $782.91 plus an additional memebership fee of $265.16. I have dsiputed the charges with both of my banks but I am sure that Flexcar is hoping that because many of its customers use debit cards, charges will be difficult to reverse. I am betting otherwise. A. Rashid

Very poor customer service

Very poor customer service. I was never able to successfully create an account. Called up customer service 3 times and talked to 3 different staff, non of which were able to help me and were very unwilling to allow me to make an account. Would not recommend as it was a waist of my time.

I ordered a Tesla for a rental

I ordered a Tesla for a rental. The day I went to pick it up in the morning when I got there I was informed it wasn’t available. They gave me an iconic 5 as a replacement.I was in an accident in this vehicle where I was hit from behind on I 85 north in Georgia. I received a police report identifying the person responsible. I also received the insurance information for the person responsible. Flex car attempted to take 2000.00 out of my account for an accident that I was not at fault. The bank declined the 2000.00 transaction but they were able to successfully take 500.00 and put that particular account in to a negative balance. I never heard of a 2000.00 deductible until now . I also asked if I was responsible to pay the deductible even if I wasn’t at fault , why didn’t they inform in advance. They assume they everyone that rents from them is disadvantaged and they can treat them any way they want to. I went and bought a truck and returned their vehicle cleaner than I received it. The person at the desk was very rude and didn’t speak to me . He took the keys from me and went out to inspect the car . I left all the doors and trunk open so that he could see that I detailed the car . He went out and slammed all the doors closed without speaking to me. Which is no problem . I just walked off the property and Called an Uber and went home . They are holding on to my 500.00 dollars like the life of the company is depending on it. Between all the additional charges for going over on your mileage or additional charges on your insurance for exceeding your safe driver points doesn’t make this a good deal. Anyone renting a car from a business of this type generally will not be able to afford a 2000.00 deductible. That should not even be an option. This company does bad business . Stay clear.my Uber driver asked me for a recommendation for them and I advised him to avoid doing business with them . I will be spreading the word as much as possible. If they did it to me they can do it to you. I want my 500.00 back.

I rented a car from Flexcar

I rented a car from Flexcar, I was originally charged 850.00 then I have paid another 1000 and have only had it for 3 weeks. It sounds good ipfront then they start taking money out of your account. I canceled and then they took 249.00 from my account for a fee for keeping the vehicle this was after I canceled. Worst customer service, they do not help with anything and only give excuses. Do not fall for this scam.

⭐ 1-Star Review for Flexcar

⭐ 1-Star Review for FlexcarMy husband decided to rent a car from Flexcar, and honestly, it’s been a horrible experience. They charge you daily for mileage, and the starter membership only gives you around 800 miles. After that, we were getting charged about $40 every single day for going over the limit. With Turo, we can rent a car for about $40 a day insurance and everything included and we can drive as much as we want with no mileage caps. Even if you add the $7–$10 a day for insurance, it’s still way more affordable and flexible.Flexcar also wanted my husband to pay for the extra mileage first, then the membership fee $250, and told him he’d need to upgrade to a more expensive mileage plan for an extra $300 a month on top of a $400 car payment. We gave them $600 before picking up the car to cover the first month. My husband said he would have to pay them $800 beforr the car payment at the end of the month. And this was for a small car that our family couldn’t even all fit in.To make things worse, we had to drive all the way to Charlotte (over 200 miles) to return the car, spent extra money renting another car to get there, and they couldn’t even waive the mileage fees. They only gave us a $50 credit for 100 miles, which was nothing compared to what we paid. We’ve spent too much money already and decided to stop the bleeding. We’re done with Flexcar. Turo will be getting our business from now on better cars, better prices, and way better customer service.Highly recommend Turo over Flexcar save yourself the headache! We will never use them again, total rip off and they're taking advantage of people in very vulnerable situations and trying to trap them.

Safe driving score incentivizes unsafe driving!

I WISH I could leave Flexcar an excellent review. I've loved everything about my Flexcar—except for the safe driving score. My “safe driving” score dropped by several points because I braked hard to avoid hitting a child who bolted into the street. There was no way to foresee this. I can’t believe that in that split second, I had to choose between protecting my score and protecting a life. You should never have to choose between keeping your score up and keeping someone alive.Flexcar claims it started this program to incentivize safe driving, but as my story proves, it actually incentivizes unsafe behavior. Ridiculous and disgusting.

They're safe driving program is a scam…

They're safe driving program is a scam I've been driving for almost 40 years I live near Boston and have told them repeatedly to stop.My driving record is clean I've never had an accident or a ticket yet somehow they believe they're safe driving program is excellent. It's based on the car I haven't even driven for 5 days and it went down two points. If they don't deal with this I'll take it to the better Business bureau but I recommend you avoid this company till they address this issue
