Do your homework and go on Yelp and read REAL HONEST reviews
I would do your homework and go directly to Yelp to read real reviews about this company. It does not surprise me in the least that the head of the company directs people to this site for “true” reviews on their business. There is no reason for people to take time out of their days to go on Yelp and write long, deeply personal reviews on their experience for no reason so please do not fall for anything this company tries to promise you. Keep in mind even after they attempted to respond to my review with a “contact us,” which I did, and yet never heard back. Also, if you look closely at their 5 star reviews it all seems to be around the same exact period (how convenient). My experience with them is stated clearly on Yelp and although we have had to move on from our experience, my hope is that I can prevent other families from putting their trust and hard earned money into Freemodel and think twice before signing on the dotted line. Don’t do it. I challenge Freemodel to prove me wrong by doing the right thing and actually reach out to me instead of putting some fake response on my review. You know you can contact me if you truly did care about what your company took and did to my family. I’d be happy to be able to change my review to positive if that was the case, until then I’ll do everything I can to make sure people know what a scam this company is. If anyone has any further questions feel free to message me and do yourself a favor and read the real reviews over on yelp!

Working with Freemodel was a terrific…
Working with Freemodel was a terrific experience from start to finish. Their project manager kept me informed every step of the way, and the renovation was completed on schedule and looked excellent. I highly recommend their team for anyone looking for smooth, reliable home-upgrades.

Disastrous Experience with Freemodel
Disastrous Experience with Freemodel - Avoid at All CostsOur experience with Freemodel was extremely disappointing and costly. Despite their assurances that all necessary upgrades to bring our home up to code were included in the original scope, we were blindsided with $10,530 in last-minute change orders for required items like an earthquake shut-off valve, bathroom fans, and pool compliance. These were not upgrades-- and could have been easily planned for with proper knowledge and transparency.Unprofessionalism plagued the entire project. The contractor halted work twice, pressuring us to sign change orders for standard code upgrades that were not in original scope before continuing. And, left the country for 3 weeks towards the end of the project. Shockingly, Freemodel permitted this behavior. I explicitly asked them to hold off on whitewashing the fireplace, but they went ahead anyway--and did a sloppy, subpar job. On top of that, they promised high-end finishes but installed cheap fixtures in the kitchen and primary bathroom. This classic bait-and-switch left us feeling manipulated and misled.Basic decency was lacking throughout. They refused to rent a porta potty for their crew--even after multiple requests--to save money, compromising hygiene and respect for our space. The project manager was so difficult and belligerent that our real estate agent had to step in and confront him. He was eventually fired by Freemodel, but the damage was done.We were charged for a final cleaning that barely done due to poor communication and mean spirited behavior from the owner's sister who was replaced as the project manager.Their projected profit of $162,265.65 turned into a substantial financial loss. This company may be scaling quickly, but it's doing so without the leadership, communication, or ethical standards required to deliver on its promises. I hope they take steps to raise the bar.Post Script: The response from Freemodel is completely performative: The owner emailed me to request that we remove the "negative" review. He unfortunately does not make any effort to repair damage done, takes zero responsibility. The companies values do not respect the home, they are house flippers. We're still recovering from the financial loss.

I use FreeModel and I own the company!
I own a real estate company on the Northern California coast and have had great success using FreeModel ! Our local rep is Azary and she is wonderful. Super easy to reach, very clear communicator, detailed work and consistent progress reports and follow up plus quality work by their contractors and suppliers. We have had great success with the homes we have sold where we used FreeModel , either simply doing fresh carpet and paint or a full transformation of the home. I completely trust them with my clients, and I have very high expectations of vendors, suppliers and people we hire to support our efforts, I can not recommend them highly enough !

So glad I got to work with freemodel!
I worked with Megan Silver at freemodel to do an extensive remodel of a 1-bedroom condo. Megan is a delight to work with. Her design sense is impeccable, her project management is reliable and a relief, her contractor is really good. The condo came out gorgeous. Plus, she makes it fun!

I cannot say enough good things about Sarah S., the Senior Project Delivery Manager at FreeModel! From the moment she reached out, she went above and beyond to ensure my warranty was honored. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication to resolving my issue were truly exceptional. Sarah didn’t just stop at the basics—she took the time to follow up, advocate on my behalf, and make sure every detail was handled perfectly. She made what could have been a stressful situation completely seamless and even enjoyable. It’s rare to encounter someone as committed to customer satisfaction as Sarah. Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. This was the worst renovation experience ever. The project was supposed to take 60 days and took about 9 months with consistent and unnecessary delays. The materials/finishes chosen by Freemodel or their designer were the absolute cheapest and ugliest possible, yet the project cost probably double what it would cost if working directly with a general contractor. My client had to spend an additional $25,000 out of pocket to redo the unacceptable work and to complete the items that were left out of the proposal.$11,000 for design work that was worth pretty much nothing. I had to step in and start replacing light fixtures, doors, etc... because what they chose was ugly and cheap or not provided.Freemodel tried to add items to change orders that were contained in the original contract. They claimed a different interpretation of the contract. I honestly believe that the items that they omitted or intended to omit from the contract borders on fraud. This is not a turn-key service as it is advertised. I am strongly considering taking legal action.
