Reem used to completely freeze when she'd see a word problem. Like full panic mode. Her tutor taught her to break them down, highlight the important stuff, go step by step, breathe. Last week's math test? Every. Single. Word problem. Correct. The way she smiled when she showed me that test... I'll remember that forever.

Yeah the science grades improved
Yeah the science grades improved. But what I didn't expect? Her tutor also taught Amanda how to organize her ENTIRE study schedule. Like time management, how to prioritize assignments, breaking big scary projects into actual doable steps. These are skills she'll use in college, in her career, forever. We hired for chemistry. We got a life coach. And they knew exactly what topics are on the UK GCSE which saved us so much stress.

Here's what blew my mind
Here's what blew my mind, the tutor didn't just help with current homework. He figured out my son had learning gaps from like two years ago that nobody had caught. We had NO idea. He's been patiently filling in those holes and suddenly concepts that used to fly right over my son's head make sense. His grades went up in subjects we didnt even hire the tutor for! Being in the US we worried about finding someone who knows our system but they matched us perfectly.

Three years we watched Jake struggle with reading. We tried everything, school interventions, different books, rewards, you name it. Nothing. Naomi is so shy
Naomi is so shy. Getting her to speak up in class? Never happening. We were terrified she'd just fall further and further behind because she was too embarrassed to ask questions. We wasted so much money on tutors who would just say here let me show you and then do the work themselves. Indira wasn't learning anything. Then Samia started asking her questions, waiting patiently for answers, letting her struggle through problems in a good way. Now when that lightbulb goes off? When she figures it out herself? That's real learning. That's what we were paying for all along. The tutor really understands the Canadian curriculum too which helps a lot.

Look we'd been through FOUR tutors…
Look we'd been through FOUR tutors before GetTutors. Martin has ADHD and most tutors would get this look on their face when he couldn't sit still, you know? Like they were annoyed. Nawaz is different, he works with Martin's energy not against it. They solve problems standing up, take movement breaks, whatever works. His grades went from Ds to Bs but honestly? Seeing him not feel like there's something wrong with him... that's everything.

Honestly I used to dread 7 PM. That's when Olivia would melt down over math homework, tears, frustration, the whole thing. Now? She just logs in and I can hear her actually laughing with her tutor.
