I moved from LA to ATL & got scammed!

I moved from LA to ATL & used Golden Gate Relocation LLC and was scammed. Do not use them. You pay the deposit the remaining balance when they pickup your items. I was called at 1am the day of delivery and told I need to pay an additional $1.7k to have my belongings dropped off. Or bring a Uhaul to meet them and unload my stuff MYSELF-right now at 1am or I would not get my furniture and items. What choice did I have but paying the “extra fees”. At 2am I met them to give them the money and have them unload my items just for them to leave the heaviest items -my couch, on the dock saying they couldn’t bring it up.

I saw a hiring ad on Craigslist

I saw a hiring ad on Craigslist, I responded to the ad and spoke with the driver for the job. He was stuck on the fact of me and my 2 guys show up at 8am, and told me he would provide address first thing in the morning, when the morning came around I never got the address. I called him again and he told me it would be an afternoon job instead of morning. The job ended up getting cancelled an hr later. I wasted my time, my guys time, and lost out on wages for me and my guys. This company is absolutely terrible. Unreliable and doesn't have any clue how to do scheduling, or how to receive payment. Worst moving company in the country.

Do not use this company!!!

Do not use this company!! Horrible experience and crooks! My estimate for a very small move was reasonable but the final bill was $1,500.00 more!! They held my items hostage until I was able to come up with that amount in cash! Banks were closed and they would not take a credit card. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I’m seeking legal action.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. They’ll give you a quote load your stuff into their truck and then hit you with all the extra fees. We were quoted $900 for the move and with all the extra fees they added on $2200. My new house is 10 minutes away from my old one and they added over $800 of fees because they had to drive down from another city because the main company outsources their moves to smaller local companies. Why they chose a company in Fort Lauderdale to move us when we live in Port Saint Lucie is beyond me. My advice is to have someone come out to your house quote everything and go from there. Absolutely, outrageous.

This company doesn’t care about you or…

This company doesn’t care about you or your belongings. They talk a friendly, helpful game, but the men who actually move your stuff scam you into cash tips, store your stuff in rat-infested place, then use a driver who pays local random guys to unload your stuff, and does whatever he can to hide how much stuff is damaged. They damaged at least half of the items in our cross-country move, LOST 8 boxes worth of belongings, and offered $82 to settle our claim. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY.

Very irresponsible...

I hired this moving company for my relocation from California to Texas. Unfortunately, my desktop was left behind during the move. Despite sending continuous emails over the past six months, I haven't received any response from them. Their lack of responsibility is disappointing, and I wouldn't personally recommend this moving company.

All these reviews are the same about…

All these reviews are the same about this con artist company. No license to move furniture or licensed responsible movers. All hired on the spot, which is why all the items are damaged. Shame on you Whitney Wade and Jim and lana. Your day is coming..

Disrespectful of items

Do not use this company to pack your belongings. I was told items would be wrapped with paper and tv boxes uses (for our large curved monitor). Neither was true. I have pictures. When my items were delivered (my photo albums dangling out the door of the truck), I was only offered the chance to use their complaint service which is a clunky, time-consuming website. After cataloguing all the damage- including our broken monitor (which is an $800 item) we were offered $124 if we signed a release that would gag us from telling this story. We did not sign. Some items were lost with no apparent effort to find them. Research your moving company. And don't use this one. (Second issue which could have been costly, but I had read the contract: when truck arrived across the country, the local contact tried to have me pay an additional $1000. He fabricated a reason and I stood my ground. If you are not someone who reads contracts, beware."

Worst moving company ever

see a copy of my email to the company below:Whitney,I am becoming increasingly concerned about my property. I have now paid my bill but no one has contacted me about delivery times. What is going on? Am I being treated this way because I am considered a difficult client? Or is this entire operation a scam and my property is stolen. (your reviews and customer feedback is both horrible and extremely scary online!) What in heaven's name is happening. I am working right now and can't just willie nillie take time off when you feel it suits you to deliver. I have given you almost $5500 of my hard earned money (during extreme financial hardship) for a move where all kinds of promises have been made and I am sleeping on the damn floor like a bum. I am not available on the dates of 17 through 20 January, so does that mean I sleep on the floor another month (or is my property really stolen) . I need some real answers accompanied by a constructive outline of when to expect my property, or I am going to have to report it to the relevant authorities. You demanded payment and yet delivered nothing!Yet again My new number is 832-857-3841Iam also reporting this on Yelp and BBB

Improper and unprofessional packing with lost and removed items.

Use caution with this company San Diego area. So far, I have lost ~$7,000 due to improper packing, damages, and incorrect paperwork. I had my items packed by 4 packers and 1 supervisor who was supposed to write down the contents of the shipment in August. It went into their storage and was delivered in September to a storage locker. There were several boxes damaged at delivery. I still have not received the paperwork I signed stating the damage to my artwork--thus the extra insurance placed on the items is void. 1. Packer who took "care" of my artwork shoved several art pieces into boxes with only one sheet of thin packing paper. Had several pieces damaged, few thousand dollars and not replaceable.2. Just found housing and starting unpacking. The boxes from the back bedroom that we could not observe due to hallway blockage by the packers did not have packing in it at all, items were throw half hazardly and items were damaged. Also a plastic container with Christmas gifts that I had saved from across the world, items bought specially for when I bought my first house along with some of my retirement gifts were removed. One large box that was damaged had an unusual open space. It was the size of the plastic gift container. In all fairness, 1 of the 5 workers did an excellent job and was in view the whole time.3. A dish pack valued at ~1000 was not in the shipment, 4. Trying to get resolution has been difficult. I have referred to different people and calls are not returned as promised. The person I spoke with today said they could not find my items. I asked for them to check cameras in the warehouse and check with the driver. They have not done this. I also asked again for the paperwork I signed with the damage I could tell when the items were delivered to try for a little reimbursement.5. On packing day, the supervisor logged the items incorrectly. He had listed a box when it was furniture, a bike as a box, etc. difficult to figure out what is missing when the numbers are incorrect.5. I was very kind to the packers providing food, water and drinks. I also gave a 10% tip which was significant. Now I am questioning my generosity.6. I have gone through seven international moves and have never had the damage or the lost items as with this company because what I believe the movers I worked with before this company took pride in their work and wrapped the items appropriately. All could have been prevented.7. If you decide to use this company, make sure you have one person observing for each packer, check the listing closely, do not let the movers out until you count each and every box and do not use their storage. Very disappointed in the unprofessional work done and damages. I promise to update this if the company finds my items or can tell how it was lost via surveillance videos.

You will NEED additional insurance protection

The moving company broke several of my things, including a 75"TV that cost $1400. All in all, the damage amount was about half the cost of the move. The amount they offered to pay for the damage to all my things: $102. If you have to go with this company, make sure you purchase additional insurance. Or better yet, go with another company that will make sure they move fragile items carefully. I should have just sold my things before I moved and got new ones once I got here. Lesson learned.

STAY AWAY

STAY AWAY! Is there a NEGATIVE review I can give this company, scratch that, they are not a real company. You can read reviews on Yelp, Google, BBB complaints and here on Trust Pilot and you can learn all you need to know about this fraud of a moving company. You don’t have to go far to realize they are scam artists who fraud their customers of their money while damaging their products. I’m surprised they have not been shut down or their owners have not been locked up yet. It’s a shame to watch these people get away with this, the people who work for this company should be ashamed of themselves. Expect a bait and switch on your price, you will agree to a certain cubic footage and even with exact calculations they will arrive day of the move and switch the price on you, make sure to confirm with the foreman they are not changing the price and make sure they agree to you recording the confirmation with you prior to them loading the truck. BEST STAY AWAY! You have been warned!

I were also quote a price at 3500.00 to…

I were also quote a price at 3500.00 to move my furniture to Mississippi. when they arrive to load my product that day of November 19, 24. After loading everything on the truck that when I realize that now the price were another 3,000.00. Then after that I were told that I will owe a balance of 3,543.00 when my furniture arrive to Mississippi. my furniture took almost 3 weeks to arrive in Mississippi. I had some pieces of furniture missing, damage, mattress damage and broken lamp, furniture crack. Beware of this moving company they are bad people. You never reach like Bryan anymore after your stuff is on the truck.the company staff will not answer their phone for you.

This is the worst company ever

Golden Gate Relocation is the worst company ever! They gave me a quote for $3300 and when they arrived at my house and once they had all of my items in their truck, they said my move price would actually be $11,000. Then they stole my goods and kept them in a warehouse for a month and refused to tell me where my goods were, which is entirely illegal. They demanded I wire money and would not accept a credit card payment, again showing that they are a fraud. They refused to release or tell me the location of my items until I got the DOT and California Bureau of Goods and Services involved. Beware, do not hire this company or your goods will be stolen or damaged and possibly never delivered. There is a Social Media Group group with over 80 members that have had their items stolen and damaged. I am not alone in this complaint. Moreover, this company is not licensed with the Department of Transportation and their insurance has not been renewed. They are not authorized to do any transportation by any government organization. On another note, if you Google their office headquarters address, you will see that they are not located at that site. The Department of Transportation cannot figure out where the management of this company is actually headquartered. It's not clear why they haven't yet been closed down.Other, if you see any five-star reviews on this company, they are fake. They hire people to make fake 5 Star reviews. This company will respond that I had more items than had originally been quoted. However, isn't it interesting that when I showed up at the items "hostage location" with another moving company, the new moving company charged me $3,700 to move my items out of state.

Do Not hire this company

Do Not hire this company. They destroyed my antique mirror. They stole my jewelry, my camara equipment, my antique Chinese vases, new towels i just purchased. Many of my things were broken. They have a 3rd party appraisal company and if you dont have receipts for everything you are out of luck. The worst part was they destroyed my brothers memorial.

Get a quote and then double it on moving day!

I was very comfortable with this company when I first decided to go to them. I told them that everything I had would fit in an 8' x 10' truck. He gave me a quote of $3700. Then when the movers came, they shocked me by telling me it would cost $3000 more (total $6700). They then said that they didn't have to move everything if I couldn't afford it. I'm 74 and moving into my daughters home with 60-70% of what I moved in with. I finally just went with his price and they loaded up the truck. Two weeks later they delivered my belongings to Spokane, Wa. In the middle of all this, my daughter and son-in-law are trying to sell their home, so everything went into storage. When they originally moved me, they had everything in the house to be loaded last and be separated as items I needed at their home now. They just threw it all together and mixed it all together. This company has no regard for anyone's belongings. I would suggest if you want to use them to get someone to come to your home and give a quote. It would have been cheaper for me to go with another company. 👎👎👎I haven't even unpacked yet and found two items of mine broken!
