Conveyancing superstars.

Rebecca, the conveyancing expert was a life saver. I needed the TR1 and ID1 forms signed and witnessed fast (divorce, clock ticking), and my original solicitors couldn't see me for over a week (and even then at an exorbitant fee). Hewitts told me to just walk in asap, printed the forms out for me, signed and checked, done in 10 minutes. Price was fab too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Absolute joke of a company

Absolute joke of a company. Wasted my time, left me with no solicitor 3 weeks before my hearing. AVIOD.

I received the wrong advice. Avoid this firm

The bill was run up by pointless hours of attending meetings when I was given wrong advice by a solicitor who, I found out later, did not know enough of the relevant law for me to make the correct decision on how to proceed. I wasted money and over a year pursuing the wrong course of action. I eventually instructed competent solicitors and discovered how awful the solicitor employed by Hewitts had been. How can they continue in practice like that?. I complained but they brushed off my complaint by denying incompetence. AVOID this firm.

I recently had a frustrating experience…

I recently had a frustrating experience with Emma regarding an update on a property. When I called, I asked her how she was out of courtesy, and her response was quite abrupt: "It's a Friday lunchtime and I'm really busy, so can we make it quick?" I then enquired about a sale update, but she just told me to drop her an email, even though I had already done that and her replies typically take around five days. What really bothered me was her unprofessional tone, saying, "Like I've said four times, I'm very busy." While I understand that everyone has a busy schedule, it would have been much more helpful to provide a quick response over the phone rather than pushing me to email. This experience has left me with the impression that the company might need to address how employees like Emma communicate with clients, as it certainly doesn't reflect well for future referrals.

Not Reccomended...... DONT USE

i used hewitts in stockton to resolve my divorce. in 4 monthe of being there customer ive had 3 different solicitors because they all keep leaving the frim. ive been asked the same questions over and over again and been charged for the comunications each time. i was told when i instructed them that £200 a month would cover the fees roughly and in 4 months they have had over £2000 and are now demanding another £500 on top off the £200 monthly payments. ive verbally in person rasied a cmplaint and in writing and a week later i am now having to chase that complaint up as ive not had a single peice off comunuication from them. ive been waiting 4 weeks for them to phone me and arrange a meeting to discuss financial disclosre and not had a thing back. ive asked for this to be rectified several times and nothingat the minuet i really cant reccomend them to anyone

HEWITTS SOLICITORS Stockton On Trent Review

Hewitts Solicitors Stockton On Trent Review. These are my personal experiences with this law firm. I am right now holding a property Deed and Plan that belong to another property.I am writing this review on Hewitts Solicitors in Stockton On Trent to share the predicament that I am in at this moment in time.I engaged the conveyancing team of this law firm to act on my behalf for the purchase of a property.I trusted that their conveyancing team, with their legal know-how, will advice me appropriately and also work for my interest. I also put my faith in them.Unfortunately, Hewitts Solicitors’ conveyancing team failed me big time. They gave me the wrong advice to go ahead and purchase my property. They either know, or do not know that the “Deed and Plans” for the property I purchased were not in order. My research and understanding is that your conveyancing solicitor should advise you if a property’s Deed and Plans are in order or not. And should also discourage you from buying that property. I did not find out that the property’s Deed and Plans are not in order until I put the property up for sale. The buyer’s solicitor stopped the buyer from going ahead with the purchase because the Deed and Plans Hewitts Solicitors gave me, belong to another property.Right now, I am paying another conveyancing solicitor to rectify the property “Deed and Plans”, mess that Hewitts Solicitors from Stockton On Trent has made.Based on the above experience, I will not recommend Hewitts Solicitors from Stockton On Trent for any conveyancing job.

DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE…

DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE MONEY After pulling out of buying one property for personal reasons and finding a new property, which we informed them about they then rang the developer’s solicitors and said that they wouldn’t act for us and the developer had to inform us. No reason as to why or anything. Having to find a new solicitor to then start the process all over again and spend even more money.

Would never recommend!

If I am absolutely honest I would never recommend these solicitors. After a long and complex 5 year battle with my ex partner and his family having access to my daughter following him committing a pretty horrific child sex offence crime this solicitors were absolutely useless. The solicitor that was acting for me at the time had her own personal issues going on at home which hadn't helped. When the court case came around the judge had told everyone that my solicitor had missed out numerous vital pieces of evidence including my health records. This led to my daughter being put in danger. When I asked that I wanted another solicitor to act for me it got refused. What had even a 5 year battle could have been finished in under a year. The case went back to court to get a variation put on the order another firm acted for me and everything was over in 3 months as they actually cared and did the job right. I have been left £17000 in debt now because of this firm and the inability to act properly. Instead just racking up the bill for their own self gratitude. The other firm had taken all of this on board and in the end the solicitor acting for me who was a partner in the business reduced the cost massively as she heard about how much debt they have left me in.The business is all about grabbing money and not caring for the people they should be defending. Would definitely not recommend!

My legal representation was very poor…

My legal representation was very poor in court and could have been more proactive and forthright the solicitor failed to challenge the complainants lies and never covered any of the points raised before trial. He let the complainants get off Scott free and I didn't feel he was acting in my best interest, And he was just following a prearrange outcome and end goal of the judges and cps rather than fighting my corner. Not the best legal representation i have ever had in court.

First time house buyer

As a first time buyer, buying a house on your own is scary stuff! However Karen in the Darlington office was an absolute gem. She kept things moving forward, she responded to queries quickly, she kept me updated on progress, and overall the start to finish process was so much easier than I imagined.

Not proactive

I did not find Hewitts proactive and got the impression that they didn’t see my case as important at all, much more correspondence about the fee I would pay. I paid £300 and explained my situation, I was given one piece of legal advice and then had to chase them to ask questions. I wouldn’t use them again, I had experience with another legal firm who I would rate far ahead of Hewitts

COMPLETELY USELESS

If I could give 0 stars I would have, had to ring 3 times to get an answer to my question, when I did get an answer they had not even understood the question.

Awful service

Awful service. Paid thousands for a service and can't even get a reply. Emails ignored, no calls back. This firm isn't interested in helping anyone.

My experience with this firm is very…

My experience with this firm Darlington branch is very very poor. Ignore emails, Slow to react, unable to provide updates in a timely manner, makes up fictional excuses for delay in process, mistakes are covered up and bushed over, complaints are not actioned the list goes on. Save yourself the stress and don't waste your money time and go to a firm that puts the customer first and doesn't think they are doing you a favor when you are paying them for a service.

Stay away else you could incur financial loss

Completely useless. They backed out from the conveyancing without any notice. The staff went on holiday and they do not even share the email of the next person. When you chase they will leave your conveyancing leaving you stuck. I am proceeding with reporting them to Ombudsman and court action if required.
