Irma at customer service was the rudest…

Irma at customer service was the rudest person I’ve ever came across. I called earlier but was transferred to the wrong department which kept me on hold for 40 minutes. I was trying to explain to her but She would not listen, even when I asked repeatedly to let me finish. She ended up hanging up on me. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. Stay away if you can.

I have called this customer service…

I have called this customer service number for 3 weeks, the agents will tell you everything but what you re not asking.Rude as hell, most can't comprehend or speak English.Others can speak English and don't know how to respond,so they filibuster or try hard to.This is horribly disturbing.

One star is too much for this company

UPDATE: A very nice gentleman from Oscar called to explain the company’s position. Firstly, he offered to reach out to my physician to explain how to get the prescription I needed covered. Secondly, he advised that bloodwork for a A1C test is not covered as it is not considered preventive by the ACA, however I did find this which leads me to believe it should be covered as part of an annual wellness exam: A1C blood tests are generally covered by health insurance plans through the ACA Marketplace. As part of the mandated "essential health benefits," ACA plans must cover preventive services—including diabetes screenings for adults with risk factors—at little to no cost. These tests are often covered as part of preventive care or chronic disease management. HealthCare.govKey Details on A1C Coverage via ACA Marketplace:Preventive Screening: The ACA requires plans to cover screenings, such as A1C, to detect prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, especially for adults aged 40 to 70 with risk factors.Chronic Disease Management: If you have already been diagnosed with diabetes, A1C tests are covered as part of required chronic disease management.$0 Cost-Sharing: Many Marketplace plans offer $0 copays for preventive services like diabetes screenings.Coverage for Supplies: In addition to the test itself, plans often cover necessary diabetes management supplies like glucose monitors, test strips, and lancets. HealthCare.govMy opinion of this company has not changed based on the feedback I received. ***********************************************One star is too much for this company. I’m so sorry I didn’t do my homework and read reviews before signing on with them. First routine bloodwork for a wellness preventive exam is not covered. So I guess all they cover is a look at my throat, a listen to my lungs and heart and a peek in my ears. Secondly, I’ve been taking a certain generic medication for many, many years. They refused to cover two doses daily, would only cover one. If I could live comfortably with just one daily dose I would. This insurance sucks big time. My only saving grace is that I’m fairly healthy and will be moving to Medicare in May. Good riddance Oscar, you will NEVER get a recommendation or good review from me!!

SCAM

SCAM! Their Broker stole my information and enrolled me into an insurance plan under OSCAR in Taxes and use of the government premium tax credits or subsidies on my behalf.

Oscar doesn't care about their clients!

I'm a provider - The agents do not care about their providers or members. Every time I call & an overseas agent doesn't understand what to do, they hang up. Then I have to call back. LITERALLY, been waiting for a supervisor now for 1:15 mins. Agents there are just LIARS! They say, they'll help but then have no clue how to assist.

Bad Experience

I’m 46 years old and my physician said Oscar was supposed to cover my insurance plan if I’m 45+ years old for a payment that costs OVER $900 but when I called customer service, they said I have to be 50+. I’ve been lied to several times. 1 star review

DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE

If I could give them zero stars I would. I paid $360 for my daughter and I WITH NO INCOME, for them to cover literally nothing. I also cannot get someone on the phone to cancel and they keep charging me even though I’m not paying anything. I refuse. They are terrible. The only way to get someone on the phone is to pretend you’re enrolling as a new customer and once they get you on the phone they “transfer you” back to the main menu. Aka you cannot get a hold of anyone. Worst insurance company I have ever dealt with and definitely do not recommend.

Worst experience Ever

I just signed on to Oscar in January. I paid my monthly premium and I’m still waiting for my Medication. I called customer service because the Pharmacist stated they still haven’t replied. It’s been 5 days and still nothing. I’m giving them 5 more days, if I haven’t heard anything by then, I’m cancelling and contacting the Better Business Bureau to see if I can get my money back. Also, most Dr’s offices and Pharmacies won’t accept their insurance because of non payment! That should have been my red flag but I believe in giving everyone the benefit of the doubt.🤔

Fraudulent policies.

The situation with Oscar Health Insurance is not merely a personal grievance; it is a glaring example of systemic malpractice that undermines the integrity of the healthcare system. The company has allowed unscrupulous agents, motivated solely by commission, to exploit the marketplace, enrolling individuals without their informed consent. This is a blatant violation of ethical standards and consumer rights.Despite having secured legitimate coverage through United Healthcare since 2023, I have been subjected to the unauthorized use of my personal information by these fraudsters from 2024 to 2026. Oscar Health's refusal to rectify this situation, despite clear evidence of fraudulent applications from 2024 and 2025, is not just negligent; it is a calculated disregard for the trust placed in them by their members. This behavior is not just bad business; it is an affront to the principles of honesty and transparency that should govern the healthcare industry. Oscar Health claims to prioritize integrity and compliance, yet their actions tell a different story. They have failed to uphold their own Code of Conduct, which mandates ethical dealings and respect for member privacy.I urge anyone who suspects they may be victims of similar fraudulent practices to take immediate action. Verify your enrollment status and ensure that your personal information is not being misused. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has acknowledged the rise in improper enrollments and provides resources for reporting such incidents. It is imperative that we hold companies like Oscar Health accountable for their unethical practices and demand a healthcare system that truly serves the interests of its members.

Poor service for health insurance plan

Poor Customer Service, I was trying to get prescription medication refilled for a three month versus one month supply and they said my request would be processed in three days. It’s been three weeks and I have heard nothing. They also tripled their cost for the same plan going from 2025 into 2026 with not so much as an email. Very willing to take your money yet will not follow up or reply to their actual customers

Have been with Oscar for less than 2 months and so many issues

Have been with Oscar for two months and already had three customer service issues including spending an hour on the phone trying to resolve a technical glitch on Oscar's end that refused to send approval to a provider, a crazy phishing/malware spam email, and the inability to log in to my account to make a payment. Would not choose again and look forward to switching plans when it's possible. 2/8/26 Update: still having issues with login. Spend at least 1 hour on the phone each time with customer service reps who can’t do anything to resolve the issue. I think I’d rather not have insurance than try to navigate this convoluted system that based on their mailing address is probably just a shell for a NYC VC hedge fund rather than legitimate health insurance.

Teledoc DOES NOT HAVE DOCTORS

Teledoc DOES NOT HAVE DOCTORS. Has nurse practitioners that cannot do anything to help. I had teledoc with Cigna amd they were great. I just got Oscar this year and will likely end up with pneumonia and they could care less because are not authorized to do anything besides tell you to go in, in person. If I felt well enough to go in - wouldn't need teledoc. Super annoyed already.

The worst insurance I've ever seen…

The worst insurance I've ever seen Truly garbage, even generic drugs, they don't okay. They just want your money. The worst insurance I've ever seen, you could pay at least for generic drugs. They paid for nothing at the end of February. I will no longer have them or no longer want them. They just want your money. And if test pilot has a problem, my review, take it off, I don't care the worst insurance I've ever seen.

They took money from marketplace and I made my payment $48 a month I think maybe $24 a month I’m not sure but now I’m getting bills from 2025 June and July August if I didn’t have insurance why I have never ever pay a co-pay but I have visited my doctors isn’t that interesting? Are you guys took $24 a month from my pocket this is something going on and I cannot figure out and I have $25,000 bill waiting for me.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. They are hard to deal with, and will stall, delay, deny, and overall give you the run around on claims that they should be supporting. They provide partial answers that change every time you talk with them. In my specific case two in network hospitals could not perform the procedure I required. They approved an out of network hospital and so far have denied all claims from the hospital for over 7 months. They give bull shit excuses like they do not have a detailed billing, although the hospital and I have given that to them. They make continual excuses to not answer the real reason they are not paying the claim. I thought this may happen so I kept very detailed records of conversations, emails, text messages, etc. It basically did me no good. The Ohio Department of Insurance was no help at all, congress and the Governor have been no help at all. Not only did I pay my monthly payments, my $10,000 out of pocket max, but I will end up paying for the hospital bill as well. What a joke for health insurance. They will never get my money again. Run far away from them.

False information on PCP's

Once you are enrolled, things change. Took over month to get an ID card, had to order it several times. No welcome package ever arrived. Once enrolled and needing to pick your Primary Care Provider (PCP) doctor, the listing of docs is incorrect. Several doctors are listed as accepting new patients but at mulitple locations the doctors are not there nor have they been. Several docs in my area close to home were listed at a Rehab/Nursing home facility and several others listed at a Health Dept. and then at a Bariatric Weight loss place. Called all to verify and none of these places accept patients and the doctors are not part of their staff nor do they provide any type of primary care. Trying to call Oscar and speaking with an understandable English speaking person seems impossible. When requesting to speak with someone else, they disconnect you. Then they have docs that are just virtual docs, but they have no appointments. Employees on the phone through Oscar said they don't have Virtual PCP's while I am simultanously looking at the list on the my computer. This insurance is not what they promoted and I will be turning them in for insurance investigation. I can't pick a doctor that they are requiring within a few days, if you don't have them available. This is not that the doctors have left the plan, they were not ever part of the plan nor are the facilities that they are indicating. I believe this was false to make their list of doctors accepting new doctors look more inviting so you would feel as though you have a much larger selection. If you can't get care, then this is not insurance. I will also be seeking to get out of this plan but of course they waited to send ID card until after the January 15th deadline. After they saw my review they wanted my info to contact me which I gladly provided. That goes absolutely nowhere. Nothing has changed, all the same bad info and more is still on the website taking hours of wasted time. PCP's, specialist and urgent care facilitie are wrong and some are even closed for almost a year. Also, they only seem to contract with third rate radiology facilities. I am as if not more displeased with the insurance company itself.

False "in-network" lising

My previous gynecologist stopped taking Oscar, however website still shows him in Network. Needless to say, ALL other gynecologists that I have contacted, that show "in network" are NOT accepting Oscar. When I call, they are accepting patients...just not Oscar patients. My concern is that this will be the case with most doctors they show "in network."
