Do not buy an LG TV

Do not buy an LG TV. Absolutely dreadful. Turns itself off mid programme. Takes an absolute age to load anything. Bag of absolute KAK in every aspect. You have been warned!!

Never again

Every LG TV I've had (3) has started to fail after 2-3 years. Power issues / display issues... I'll never purchase another LG TV.

Terrible

Terrible, sound cuts out frequently. Everything is just for adds. LG basically just want a billboard in your living room, default to never turn of but to simple just run adds

LG OLED TV 👎🏻

Our OLED tv developed a white line across the top of the screen when it was only just 3yrs old. 18months later the tv continues to turn itself off. LG support gave me the runaround. Can you give this info? Can you get me that info? I can’t possibly know what is wrong. However, within 2mins of talking to a tv tech I am told that it is because of the broken screen. The tv goes into protection mode and turns itself off. I find it difficult to believe that LG support would not know this. TV not worth it. LG support definitely not worth it.

I will never ever buy an LG tv again

I will never ever buy an LG tv again. LG funnels you into their system to gather personal information. Just finished 45 minutes trying to "upgrade" the app in order to log into You tube tv. I'm forced into an app update even though it isn't required by You tube tv. It is an LG scam. Must go to the computer since can't use the tv. Password authentication is broken. constant system error etc etc. Bad engineering. No matter what the picture quality could be nothing is worth this.

I purchased my LG tv one year ago

I purchased my LG tv one year ago. It kept switching off so I took it back to Currys (where I purchased it). I was told there was a trouble with their software when it was sold to me. Curry’s refused to refund but LG told me they would send it back with a “work around” that I could install. Being almost 70 I told them I don’t understand what they’re saying. Long story short it came back compete with “work around”. It now rarely switches to blank screens and when it has it comes straight back on however my bbc programmes keep switching off my live tv and my subtitles don’t work on half my programmes. I’ve reverted to watching tv on my old laptop which outperforms this awful tv. Customer service from both LG and Currys was atrocious. They sold me a faulty tv and would not take it back so I could get a working tv. My family all purchased tvs at around the same time, different brands from other companies. A couple from Argos, one had to be returned with a fault which was refunded immediately and another was purchased which was perfect as was the other one. Mine was the only LG tv and the only one purchased from Currys. Needless to say neither LG or Currys will be getting any business from me or my family in future.

I would give it minus 10 if I could

I would give it minus 10 if I could, the chip in the television keeps switching it to update apps and menu takes ages to come up, some times i have to switch it off and on to get it to work. The only good thing is picture quality. Why don't they reply to reviews don't they even care

I hate my LG tv and it hates me

Just echoing what many others have said. It doesn't matter how good the picture is, if the TV decides to shut down or restart every few minutes because it needs to "free up memory" or perform some other useless function that doesn't actually do anything at all.You can't enjoy any programmes without them being interrupted because the 'app needs to refresh' even though it did that 20 minutes ago. Or five minutes ago. Or one minute ago. I hate my LG tv. I hate it.

Worst Smart LG Tv

Worst Smart LG Tv. Since installation, I have had numerous problems. Customer service is not helpful. The TV keeps updating programs daily, denying TV viewing. IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE KEEP AWAY FROM LG

Great picture/sound but poor remote control and bugs

Bought a new LG OLED55C44LA in January 2025. Having had it for a full year I thought it was time to give it a review. In short:- Set up easy- Great picture- Great sound (although I purchased a sound bar with it which does make a positive difference)- Poor remote control where some of the buttons have started to fade. I've had to paint them with clear nail varnish to stop further deterioration. This is just poor design LG. Also, like many people, I don't find the remote's wheel easy to use.- Like many other people, I can't use the "Test Signal" option as all I get is the spinning wheel of doom. LG's response seems to be that if you can receive all channels (which I can), it's not a problem. But it is a problem to me. I'm one of your customers LG who has paid a lot of money for your TV. Don't be so dismissive. A simple software update should be sufficient in the same way that Apple do to fix bugs and the like. So, LG, if you want repeat customers and recommendations you need to improve on some aspects of your service.

Disappearing Free Movie Vouchers

LG banner stated 5 X £5.49 movie vouchers. But when I signed in and verified they mysteriously disappeared along with the banner.

LG Smart TVs and HDMI ARC CEC

LG Smart TV's run WebOS. WebOS is much like Windows is to your PC - if it's buggy, your TV will not work properly. For 10 years LG and other high-end TV and home cinema companies have failed to get HDMI -CEC, SIMPLINK, ARC or eARC working together without problems - YES 10 YEARS!!!If you are really unlucky, and you chose PIONEER kit for your home cinema/surround sound audio system - you have descended into the seventh circle of hell Your very expensive multi-speaker setup and AV receiver will never work with your even more expensive LG OLED all-singing, AI-assisted, all-dancing huge TV - you won't get decent sound without endless pillocking about unplugging this, restarting that, resetting the other, re-initialising something else, power recycling every thing you own down to the kitchen kettle, replacing all your cables...JUST TO GET SOUND OUT OF YOUR SPEAKER SYSTEM FOR CRYING OUT LOUD???Instead, you'll have to settle for tinny, quacky TV speaker sound (NETFLIX on a baby alarm anyone?) while your intelligent, AI-configured, supremely powerful 8-speaker 400 watt Dolby ATMOS audio system does Silent Night - all night - every night.Surely a problem which affects thousands of (now ex) customers must be very quickly solved overnight with a new WebOS release/firmware update yes?Well, LG used to be a laughing stock for the sheer number of software updates it used to pump out every year. You'd spend more time watching your TV updating itself, than actually viewing anything. So they've put an end to that too - the latest release of WebOS 25 turned out to be so buggy, it made things very much worse, with many hundreds more people now suddenly unable to get sound via HDMI ARC CEC - so the roll-out of WebOS is now suspended for the foreseeable.May I respectfully suggest that, until LG finally and completely fixes this problem, anyone thinking of buying LG needs to suspend opening their wallets for the foreseeable future too?Imagine Microsoft telling its millions of customers - we're sorry your mouse or your keyboard or your screen has stopped working. But we're looking into it again (as we have been for 10 years now), and with luck we'll have an answer in a month or two....

Worse tv I’ve ever bought

Worse tv I’ve ever bought, tv guide takes over a minute to load(it should be instant ffs it’s internet) every time the tv switch’s on it turns to a pc screen of options, I thought I bought a TV not a master computer. The sound and picture are absolutely standard, I’ve had better from Argos. The most annoying thing which has happened about 30 times is the tv switched to automatic audio description mode, which is essentially TV description for the blind but annoying as folk for people with eyes watching the TV. Never again LG TVs are too much hassle to work for no improvements on quality, don’t bother wasting your money!!

the worst tv appliance I ever…

the worst tv appliance I ever purchased-user data interface nearly impossible to negotiate-telephone support representative conversation equally bad due to heavy foreign accent-two way discussion near impossible as if she was reading from a computer terminal like a robot. Utterly stressful experience all around-life is definitely NOT good with LG. The company is breaking the trades description act with its name.
