Not a good option
Well MineAcademy seems to be a good Place to start learning java and minecraft plugins, but actually its the worst spot. its expensive and the teacher ( Matej ) only teaches his stupid foundation system, not how to do it in the native versions of spigot which is completly useless because he is always talking about being self reliant but then we rely on him with his foundation. really cant recommend this course to anyone out there.

Amazing courses and support
MineAcademy has amazing courses, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get into Minecraft development. I have made 3 plugins since taking Project Orion and NMS Advanced. Teams plugin (Fully GUI controlled), A server core with many features like essentials, but more GUI controlled, and I have made a HCF addons plugin, with reclaims, redeems, airdrops, partner packages, and much more, all of it is GUI controlled. I hesitated for almost a year before joining trying to watch YouTube tutorials but I learned nothing. Highly recommended.

Recommend for everyone who likes minecraft ands wants to learn how to code
I joined MineAcademy more than 5 years ago. I remember having to ask my dad to buy me the course because I couldn't afford if myself. And now I can say that it was the best decision. I was learning how to code while having fun - doing something I always loved - playing Minecraft. 2 years after joining MineAcademy, I already got a coding job for a German client because I learnt solid foundations and MineAcademy taught me how to think. Now I'm running my own company, we're helping children learn more efficiently and becoming one of the post popular learning platform in Poland. And it all started with "just a course". So, I'd recommend it to everyone who likes minecraft and wants to learn how to code. The ROI is enormous.

Definitely recommend
I definitely recommend MineAcademy. I’ve been part of the community from the very beginning and over the years Matej has helped me tremendously. He was the person who first ignited my passion for coding and made complex topics feel approachable and simple. Beyond programming itself, I also learned invaluable skills like time management, focus and how to think long-term about projects - things that go far beyond Minecraft or plugins. All of this helped me significantly during my technical studies and years later it paid off in real life. Today I work as a Senior Data Engineer at a well-known global company. More recently, Matej also helped me with my first real “business” exit - selling my Minecraft plugin (LPC and its premium version) that I released earlier this year.Looking back, joining MineAcademy as a teenager was one of the best decisions I’ve made. It’s not just a course, but a community that genuinely shapes how you think, build, and grow.Highly recommended.

A Complete Skill Upgrade
The best thing about MineAcademy is that you learn step by step, from a total beginner to getting hands on advanced topics like proxies or minigames in the same program. Matej is an incredibly hard working and dedicated person and I recommend MineAcademy courses to anyone who wants to level up his or her skillset.

Matej is amazing at his craft
Some of the highest quality courses on programming I've ever seen. I've known Matej for 5 years and he always delivers amazing trainings and support. Highly recommended if you want to learn Java, code plugins, grow your network or simply develop a high paid dev skillset.

High quality
High quality, thoroughly made coding classes for Minecraft plugin development, weekly live classes and a lot to learn for both total beginners and experienced developers alike.

Project Orion is really good for people who has 0 existing experience with plugin development. It teaches the basics to even advanced things. I haven't seen anything close to what Matej teaches in Project Orion anywhere on YouTube.

Honestly didn't write code for many many years, and this course has helped me relearn coding. I also learned life lessons in this course and really impacted me. It goes beyond coding. and I'm grateful for that.

Great quality of plugins
MineAcademy honestly has some of the best plugins I’ve ever used. ChatControl alone replaced like five different plugins on my survival server. I've reached out to their support when I first bought from them and they were super chill and helpful. Honestly, I can recommend any of their plugins as long as it fits what you’re looking for.

Expand the mind. Mine the potential and Succeed.
I am a father and six years ago we gave access to MineAcademy to our child of 10. This early access and ability to collaborate and work with has inspired our child. She is now a lead developer on a game in the Roblox platform and preparing for college. What a great way to stretch the brain and engage your child.

I found Matej through his YouTube series while trying to learn about plugins. I started watching his series and learned a lot. He helped me develop some crucial plugins just from the YouTube series alone.I can't paste links, so if you want to watch his playlist for free, his Youtube is "Matej (kangarko)"Based on the knowledge he shares in his YouTube series, I could tell that he knows what he's talking about, so I decided to purchase Project Orion. It turns out that Project Orion also comes with the Java Masterclass for FREE. Now, I'm working through both courses and learning a lot.I've also purchased his ChatControl plugin along with some of the available add-ons. Matej not only knows what he's talking about but also provides the resources needed to set up your environment and get started quickly.Yes, you can learn everything by browsing forums and watching videos, but for me, it wasn’t that easy. A lot of videos focus on individual topics rather than how they integrate with other systems in plugin development. Matej explains how classes and methods work, the best scenarios to use each one, and how to optimize them for better performance.

I enjoyed the Java master class and project Orion, something very difficult for me to do normally but this course is a fun and practical. The mental training of this course is also very beneficial and greatly helped me in my school life as well.

Truly a great set of courses
Truly a great set of courses, both the masterclass and PO(Project Orion) have strong backbones, especially if you read the documentation to actually understand the API (which is optional) used in PO. Nothing is ever perfect, but Matej has found a damn good way to come close! I urge readers and future programmers to give it an honest go, it definitely helped me, and I believe if you come in with an open mind, it can help any one else as well, even a complete beginner

I feel sad that some people review the program and give a bad rating just because they see there is a library. Which is actually better imo because I always got demotivated trying to learn the basics, but with Project Orion I felt I could get my ideas out there much faster. I've now made my own library and I would even say that using Foundation has helped me understand Spigot better. And in the new version Matej made it completely optional so you can choose if you want to use it or not. Before joining MineAcademy I spent almost a year trying to learn plugin dev from youtube, then I took the other course with Udemy but it was very poorly built.Foundation is an awesome framework imo and kangarko is some of the hardest working devs I know. If someone has a problem using his library but wants to learn Minecraft plugin from a proven dev, take his course. I have my own API which I could not wrap my head around how to make before I joined Project Orion.I tried many ways to learn plugin dev and nothing has helped me like Project Orion. My network now hosts well over 2,000 players and is growing. MineAcademy has changed my life.

NO!!
The Java course is okay, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best. Honestly, you could learn Java for free on YouTube without spending a cent. Now about Project Orion, it's a complete mess. They use their own custom API for everything. At first, it might seem like a good idea for beginners, but it’s not. The problem is that you end up learning how to use their system instead of the basic Paper or Spigot APIs. When you want to create something with more flexibility or advanced options, you’re stuck relying on what their foundation provides. And if it doesn’t have what you need, you have no idea how to implement it yourself because you didn’t learn the basics. For me, it’s a big no.

This is one of the best Java courses I…
This is one of the best Java courses I have ever taken. It delves deeply into the details, and the worksheets are extensive and well-documented. Additionally, the one-on-one sessions are truly focused on deepening your understanding and are highly interactive. There are, however, two areas for improvement. The first is the mix between Foundation and Native in week 1x. Personally, I am a big fan of Foundation, and at times there is an odd switch between the two, which can cause some confusion. The second point: The cooldown between weeks can be frustrating if you already have some experience and want to dive deeper into specific topics. I do understand that this might be helpful for others, though. Perhaps an option could be added where you can take a small test to bypass the cooldown, or maybe introduce a slider based on your experience level. For example, a pro could have a 1-day cooldown, an intermediate learner 2 days, and a beginner 3 days per week.
