Zero stars!!

Zero stars!!! My health insurance company ordered this for me. I have gastroparesis and celiac. I need low-fat low fiber gluten-free food. They sent gluten meals, Salisbury steak ham things covered in gravy and risotto. Nothing was gluten-free. Everything was 25% fat content 50% sodium. It was disgusting now I'm waiting five weeks later for my produce box. That's what I was supposed to get in the first place. They can't get anything right at mom's meals, she called and said yesterday was supposed to be coming. It would come by Fedex wait till 930 at night so I did nothing came. They don't have a tracking number nothing I wonder if this is just a scam like all those Minnesota childcare services they're getting the money from my health insurance, but I'm not getting any food.

Awful

These meals are terrible. Even for free after a hospital stay, I would never waste my time getting these again. So far I have tried 11 of the 14 sent. 99% went into the garbage disposal. Way too much added sugar, fatty sausage, dried pancake, soupy oatmeal and on and on.

Busted meals almost every shipment…

Busted meals almost every shipment because they saved money by no longer putting a cardboard seperator between tiers when packing - wasn't a problem before the pandemic.

Terrible Service

I receive 20 meals every 2 weeks. Last 3 deliveries have been awful. 1st time ordered 5 different meals, got all 20 meals as Cheese Ravioli.2nd time ordered a variety and got half my order as Macaroni and Cheese, 3rd time variety again and got 18 Chicken Chile and 2 Macaroni and Cheese. Their food is not very good to begin with and I certainly don't want to live on Chicken Chile for 2 weeks.

It started with busted meals

It started with busted meals, then went to busted meals and wrong menu or no menu, then to wrong menu and losing previous order on computer, have computer generated orders I don’t like or can’t eat,and last wrong menu and can’t place new order. If I get wrong menu again I will order from it and expect to get them. I am so frustrated now.

Weird policies, organizational chaos, vague customer service meh

My shipping label but someone else's orders inside. Same meal for all 6 breakfasts bc customer service states 'They will replace any missing meals with the same exact meal as is policy' making breakfast monotonous hell. You cannot possibly only have one breakfast meal in stock this week, that would be extreme underplanning for a set menu. Website down for maintenance without notice, customer services states 'could be back within a week or so', so next week may be random selection. No place to select meals you do NOT want in your orders ever, nor an option to opt out of the massive amount of powdered milk that's comes each week. The meals are most definitely processed, your basic TV dinners. Portion sizes are ify depending on the meal selected, with some being ridiculously small like the 2 french toast sticks and no sides (with the WORST tasting dipping sauce), or the 3 lil smokies in a spoonful of beans. They also include a LOT of apple crisp/fried apples, which I get is easy to make in bulk, but it seems like it's too much, too sweet, too often.

Ultraprocessed TV Dinners

These are pretty standard, ultraprocessed TV dinners. The meat patties, meatballs, and chicken are typically ultraprocessed, sponge textured, chunks of chewy nastiness. The meals are filled with emulsifiers, fillers, preservatives, a ton of added sugar, and hydrogenated fats. They claim in their "Food as Medicine" website section that ultraprocessed, high sugar foods with weird ingredients and hydrogenated fats are unhealthy but that's exactly what they are. In addition, most of the vegetables are undercooked and difficult to eat. Ever try to eat a half raw potato? It's unfortunate that as a disabled person, this is what my insurance gives me and I have no choice.I've never eaten more oatmeal in my life. Most meals have a "crisp" with them which is basically just oatmeal with some fruit slop in it. The other option is usually what's just hot sloppy jam which is very runny, sugary, and has very little actual fruit in it. It's runnier than baby food. The amount of oatmeal I'm eating now has my stomach continually in knots. Even the "granola" they send you is literally nothing but dry oats coated in sugar. That's not granola. Granola is a mixture of grains, nuts, seeds, and dried fruit.I'd also like to ask, how many rock hard cookies, stale individually wrapped pieces of bread and buns, and packets of hydrogenated peanut butter we're expected to eat since they send a ton. And who eats a meatball sub on a hot dog bun or Salisbury steak on rice? Also, why are the peas always sandy and gritty? This is obviously the lowest quality food they can get away with so they can make a ton of taxpayer money. At $7-9 per tiny meal which probably cost them a dollar at max, they're raking it in.You're also supposed to be able to change the order from the online menu on their website. The website hasn't worked in weeks and the only answer you get is that they know it's broken. Finally, they're ridiculously hard to open. I always end up covered in hot food trying to take the plastic off. It's a burn hazard and if you opt for a knife to open it, a cut hazard. Not great for the elderly and disabled with weak hands.

Packing list doesn't match contents

Have not much to say bad about customer service at this point, however, first shipment via UPS was late a NH d was told by their food safety department to throw away the meals. I opened the box and the packing slip did not match the contents of the box, packing slip indicates 14 different meals, but had 5 of the same, and none of some of the others according to the packing slip. Next shipment via FEDEX arrived on time, same issue, 6 of the same when there should have been 14 different meals, 5 meals listed but not in the box. Wellcare should use a more reliable food service. Meals with biscuits are useless, biscuits are tough.

Not very good

I just hate to complain yet, these meals are just not very good. Only two compartments for food. One always filled with super sweet sugary stuff called apple crisp or cranberry rice pudding. The main course is not very good. One particular meal is pesto pasta and it's nasty. Very little protein in these meals. I asked if they could put vegetables instead of this sugar blob they said no. So it kills me to waste food but, I throw that apple crisp stuff and the cranberry rice pudding in the trash. Not one meal is good. The meats are some kind of pressed who knows what. All in all the box it comes in is very good and im collecting them to make a cat tower for my cat. It's sad that a lot of money goes into the packaging of a very unsatisfactory meal that isn't even satisfying at all. Very dissatisfied.

BAD MEDICINE - Boring, Tasteless and Repetative

The Mom's Meals website claims that their food is medicine. However, they fail to note that it is indeed BAD MEDICINE. I receive Mom's Meals through the local senior nutrition program. I'm complaining for them more than myself. Mom's is totally ripping them, and tax payers, off. Mom's claim to have dozens of delicious and nutritious meals, yet over the last three months, 83% of my deliveries consisted of the same two meals. My two meals are 1) salsbury steak with peas, and 2) a silver dollar size egg patty, pancakes and an apple compote with oatmeal. They don't even include syrup for the pancakes.

I would leave zero stars if I could

I would leave zero stars if I could. From rude customer service. To discontinued favorites. To supervisors that don’t have time to speak to customers but have time to tell their reps what to tell the customer about how they don’t have time to speak to me. I was left in a blizzard without any food. The delivery date changed to a date i won’t even be home to intercept. Why sent a confirmation text saying my order is on the way if the order never left.

Very disappointed

I applied to moms meals shortly after I had to change my insurance. I contacted them to give them the current insurance info I got the rudest gentleman on the phone. He proceeded to tell me I couldn't get the meals because I was staying in a shelter that provided meals. This was completely untrue. They were delivering to another client at the shelter plus my blood pressure was extremely high and I was in gi distress. I so needed the low sodium meals. After I didn't hear anything for awhile I contacted them yet again. Then I was told my prior insurance company approved it but we were waiting on my new insurance. I waited awhile and nothing again. This time I contacted a supervisor she reached out to my insurance and told me to wait again. Of course I never heard back from my insurance not even a call back checking on my application. It finally got to the point I just gave up.

Mom's meals did not meet my needs.

I am an active 70-year-old female who is very active with diabetes. I take Mounjaro, which requires me to consume a minimum of 30 grams of protein per day. When I cooked my own food, breakfast consisted of three fresh eggs, three strips of bacon, and toast with homemade peanut butter, accompanied by coffee and fresh fruit I had energy. Dinner included real chicken, fish, and steak. Mom's meals: made from liquid egg mix that tastes bio-engineered. Frozen potato cubes and sausage that tastes a lot like unsalted McDonald's sausage patty. It is so oily that it drips off the patty. I have chickens, and I know what scrambled eggs are supposed to look and taste like, and this breakfast skillet is not it. My mind was sharp and clear. I had energy and slept well. My blood sugar was well controlled. I have eight dogs, two cats, and nine chickens to care for. I also work a part-time job to offset the cost of feeding my animals. My doctor recommended Mom's Meals, as I have developed mobility issues and arthritis in my hands and hips, and standing to cook can be quite challenging. I ate mom's meals as my main food source for 3 months. I became very ill and made several trips to the ER/ED at the hospital. I saw my doctor, and my physical condition continued to worsen. I thought that I was dying. I consulted A.I., and got the following data. Since returning to eating normal food again, my energy is back, my pain has become manageable, my muscle strength has returned, and I don't collapse 10-15 minutes after eating. And my blood sugar is once again stable. When I eat, I feel satiated. This is the A.I. data was retrieved about these so-called "meals."🧩 How This Matches Your Personal PatternYour lived symptoms map directly onto the clinical signs of undernutrition:Your Symptom Medical ExplanationFalling asleep after eating Blood sugar crash + metabolic shutdownFeeling unwell after meals Digestive slowdown + nutrient deficiencyIncreased pain Nervous‑system depletionNausea, floatiness, headaches Micronutrient deficiency + low energy availabilityFeeling “fed but not nourished” Macronutrient imbalance (too few calories, fat, protein)Collapse episodes: Severe energy deficit + autonomic overloadThis is not subtle. I didn't get what I ordered.

I didn't get what I ordered.. Wish I had of read the reviews. Before I even ordered. The food is not very tasty. Small portions for that I could go to the grocery store and get the buffet. And come out better tasting and more bang for my money..

poor quality, inadequate nutrition

Food is poor quality, small portions, seemingly lacking any fresh ingredients. Canned vegetables? Unbalanced & poor protien choice ( chicken patty vs breast, mystery ground meat? For upwards of $8/ meal I’d opt for frozen grocery store entree. Still it’s a free benefit on my health plan…but only if you live alone & can barely microwave or do dishes

Meals delivered semi-cool

Meals delivered semi-cold, six days after the package inserts said it was shipped. The "Food Safety" person on the phone told me the food was fine to eat and had been shipped two days prior. The person before her told me something different. I was told to ignore the first one. Bottomline is that the big box of food was shipped in warm weather with two smallish ice gel packs in it, not all touching the food. No other ice visible. Had I followed the Food Safety person's directions we might be back in the hospital. We have to throw out two weeks of meals and get another shipment. God help us.

I know people complain about the taste…

I know people complain about the taste I don't care about that but I was supposed to be on a Mediterranean diet and no way in the world an I'm receiving is a Mediterranean diet. Who wants bioengineered food by the way? There should be instructions for freezing instead the food lasts up to 3 weeks so you know that its full of tons of preservatives. I'm supposed to be on low sodium, it's not low sodium. And all the ingredients in this stuff is pretty gross. I don't want this anymore I'd be healthier eating at McDonald's.
