Jay has been a great sounding board on the ideas for plot and character development. He has done so with interest in the work and has not pushed me to make a decision. Thanks Jay!
Jay Davis at Parker Publishers has been absolutely amazing to work with over the past two weeks. From our very first conversation, he was incredibly informative, patient, and genuinely invested in helping me understand every step of the publishing process. He took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and never made me feel rushed or pressured. What stood out most was how knowledgeable and transparent he was. As a new author navigating the publishing world, that level of clarity and guidance meant everything to me. Jay made what can feel overwhelming actually feel manageable and exciting.I truly appreciate his professionalism, responsiveness, and dedication. If you’re looking for someone who is helpful, insightful, and truly cares about authors and their goals, I highly recommend Jay Davis at Parker Publishers.
Parker Publishing makes it possible for unknown authors to become published in a more traditional sense, rather than the self publishing route. Your input is desired throughout every step of the way. This is a long process that was prolonged due to multiple factors. However, I think the end result will be worth it all. Thanks Parker Publishing!
What made the overall experience good was how everyone from Maxine Black to Sandy Stevenson of Parker Publishers handled the process needed to publish my work both professionally and in a respectable time frame. In addition, Maxine, had put together a package that made it affordable for me to have my novel Firecracker edited and published. Sandy, was authentically concern with my personal situation while having my novel The Shibboleth converted to an audio book as well. Also, my gratitude would be pointless if it wasn't for the marvelous narration by Mandy. I thank all 3 of them dearly.
For the past 6 months l have been at an impasse regarding the publication of my manuscript for various reasons. Then comes Sandy Steven who immediately figured out the problem and fix it immediately. I am immensely grateful to her.
Jay was thoughtful and made me feel inspired to get going on this project I have had in mind for two years.
I reached out to see about getting a book I wrote published. I have absolutely no experience in this field and was looking for guidance and professional direction. I contacted a number of Literary agents and publishing companies with little or no success (interest) in the subject matter I wrote about. After contacting Parker Publishing I talked to Jay Davis. He showed a strong interest in what I was writing about and asked if I could supply my writing to him for review. I did that and he took the time to review my book and sent me back an Editorial Assessment. That was extremely helpful in my decision to continue with getting my book out to the public. We have spoken a few times since then about the best course of direction for me to accomplish what I have spent twenty five years compiling. Initially, I was very concerned about having my unpublished book in someone else's hands, (for obvious reasons), but, Jay did make me feel comfortable in having Parker Publishing having my book. Jay has pointed out things that I should look at as the structure of the body of the book, and I agree with his assesment and I am currently addressing those suggestions. This has been a dream of mine in finishing this book and getting it out since my friend Louis Bitonti, who was the inspiration and force behind this effort, has passed.
Book publishing consultant Sarah Edwards, and Sr Consultant Jay were both fantastic in helping me get to send in my submission
I just had my first chat with a representative of Parker Publishing and he so kindly walked me through the process of publishing my first book. I felt I was talking with him across the table. I will definitely come back to Parker as I finalize my manuscript and get going!
Jay was awesome to talk to. He explained the publishing process in a polite, professional manor, without making me feel pressured to purchase a package right away. I feel safe to say I’m going to choose Parker Publishers as my go to publishing company for my first book!!
Very helpful
Over the past week I have been calling chatting with these so-called book publishers and asking simple questions, as to how much you charge. What Iam finding out, is some are pretty genuine and will do them for a mere few hundred dollars, while others like this company wants thousands. explaining the high cost as have you ever paid a voice person to narrate your book? I am not giving this review saying the company won't do a good job, but per say if an author had 20 books, you would be paying 20 grand or even better 40 k to publish your work. This is the entire conversation we had in chat I didn't take any pleasure in it at all. He left by saying just say you cannot afford it sir.So, are you looking to get audiobooks done or are we looking at publication + audiobooks?well publication of course. I don't have time or I'd do it myself.JayJust for audiobook production it would cost you between $997 to $1497 for audiobook production - if you choose to get multiple books done, we can include PoD setup for free within the same cost. You can get it done for less than $400 per book (Ai generated audiobooks) but you won't be able to publish via Amazonlmao I can't afford that pricing. I can't imagine spending over 30 k to publish some books lol. I'll pass at that price. it's a little ridiculous how does one explain those prices to a new unsuspecting author not me but asking is allJay feel free to reach out if you find someone a voice actor who is willing to professionally record 4-6 hours' worth of material for less than $1000Then what good would that be? is that why companies have jacked the prices to unrealistic levels then?I am using my own voice. I been on radio and tv for 20 plus years how about that. This convo is going no place. Don't even try to give me that pitch ha ha pathetically bad here. You can lead a horse to water but not make them drink my daddy always said.JayWell in that case, you should certainly give it a shot and do it yourself! Just make sure to produce/record at a professional recording studio to avoid any issues while uploading. You can review the requirements here: like you have one lol most likely use mixlir or some other sources and charge big money for what a person can do on their own.JayJust say you can't afford it and call it a day, sirI'm sure both of us have better things to do.No. let us say we cannot afford your very expensive services. lol. I am sure you do like cheating other authors on ridiculous prices lol. Good ridden, see you in the review sections.a moment ago, seenJay is typing...
My experience with Parker Publishing have been extremely positive through two books. Now I submit book three. They service has been efficient, friendly, responsive, and caring. And lastly, very professional.
I had a terrible experience with Parker Publishers and project manager Maxine. She did nothing for 2 weeks, provided no milestones, then went on maternity leave and passed my book to Rachel who also failed to communicate and provide milestones. Rachel claimed Hazel was working on my book. For two additional weeks I begged Rachel and Hazel to get to the work. Hazel did very superficial work, missed typos, her "corrections" had mistakes, she broke obvious formatting rules and did unbelievably shoddy work. Parker Publishers wasted over a month of my time. If you decide to work with this company, demand a clear workflow schedule and milestones. Otherwise they may act unprofessional and dishonest, as they did in my case. The only positive outcome was that they refunded my money, but I had to go through multiple people before it was processed. Parker Publishers then had the audacity to write "You called Parker Publishers by bad names and disrespected our project managers, despite the fact that all your feedback was handled with care and everything was well-documented..." which is flat out lie. Yep... well-documented alright. I spoke highly of everyone for nearly a month until they flattered, deceived me and wasted my time. A terrible experience to say the least.
My first time trying to get a book onto paper and into the real world but Matthew Henderson with Parker Publishers made the whole process so much easier than I think it would've been otherwise. Very professional and easy to deal with. I've been very pleased with pretty much everything so far. They did the illustrations for the Children's book for me and that took longer than expected as we went back and forth trying to land on what I wanted the characters and everything to look like. All in all, I would highly recommend. Looking forward to more!
I researched a few other publishing companies before choosing Parker Publishing and now that I've experienced the process from 'not knowing anything about publishing' to a published product, I'm convinced that I made the right choice!Throughout the process, the project managers assigned to my book, Maxine Black (left on maternity leave) and Rachel Miller (took over for Maxine) held my hand and answered all my questions in a timely manner and were very helpful throughout the entire process. They also helped to come up with innovative ideas that I incorporated into the book. I now have another manuscript I'd like to get published and I'm going back to Parker Publishing to get it done right and produce a professional final product!P.S. The illustrating team are nothing short of amazing! Colors, images, placement...all creative juices were flowing and appreciated!
Amazing Service! Really awesome staff !!
I am working with Matthew Henderson and he is so flexible and understanding in all the changes that I recommended to finalize my book cover design and the illustrations that I suggested. He always presents to me the suggested changes and the final okay is coming from me. My book is almost here!!As a first-time author this gave me a great knowledge and experience in putting together a project that I love. This inspires me to write more books in the near future.
