It would be zero if there was one
It would be zero if there was one , I’ve been insured with them for a few years now but unfortunately I need to make a claim on the 14/11/25 at 5pm it was an emergency that I had extra cover for but when I made the call it took at least 15/20 minutes to speak to someone who then said they would get the emergency team to call me , I had water pouring through the loft ceiling into electrics and all down the walls the guy came back to me and gave me the shock of my life when he said they were so busy it would be the 19/11/25 before they could get out to me , my wife and I were in panic mode because at the time we had our 3year old grandson staying with us and was traumatised by the whole experience , Luckily enough we had a friend who is a builder and came and did temporary repairs for us , when I made a complaint to them the excepted response ability and yeti add insult to injury they offered £80 compensation , they are a bunch of charlatans hiding behind three sections of the business so I would 100% say swerve any contact with them .

Post office merely acts as an agent…
Post office merely acts as an agent with its policies underwritten by Ageas and its home emergency and legal cover by ARAG( formerly DAS). When you have a problem the Post Office just passes you on to these companies and both are awful. Extremely poor customer service and they do everything they can to avoid paying up. I had a small claim last year, was given misinformation by them during my first call to report the issue and ended up badly out of pocket. They accepted that they had misinformed me and gave me £100 as compensation for my 3 k loss. Avoid avoid.. there are so many better companies out there.

I bought house and contents insurance…
I bought house and contents insurance with the added home emergency cover from what I thought was a good house hold name ,anyway in the beginning of July my boiler stopped working and a company who is like the contractor called CET UK sent engineers out but kept going faulty after a couple days in September the last engineer replaced a part and said it might be worth getting the system power flushed as an advisory which wasnt covered by the home emergency insurance. my boiler failed again with water coming out of my boiler this time so I called CET Uk and was advised that the they wouldn't call out again until my system is power flushed so I asked if I can have it in writing that I want money reimbursed if I get the system power flushed and it doesn't clear the fault and they said oh it won't fix the fault with your boiler as its an advisory but they won't send another engineer until its done , anyway it's now early December without any hot water or central heating and its in the hands of the ombudsman

Cancellation Fee saga
I movdd house last Wednesday. I phoned to inform them I wish to cancel my policy. I was told you can't do that today. I phoned 2 days later. Not possible to backdate. I was ghrn informed that I owed £35 cancellation fee. I had paid for 1 year when I took out the policy. Don't worry, the customer service lady said. You don't need to pay anything. Oh good news! Please just refund me what you owe. "Fine, we will refund you £200.36 minus £35.00 cancellation fee. She then told me that moving house was stressful. She was right. Never will I use PO again.

Very high auto renew price!
My home insurance goes up every year with auto renewal. This year really took the mick - cost of £509.85 per year. Went on Confused.com and got a quote with Sky for £157.36 which also has five Defaqto stars. I've never claimed in 8 years and live in an ordinary terraced house so it's a liberty that it's gone up so high! Cancelled in time for once and took the Sky policy instead. All the companies including RAC etc seem to be ripping people off now with auto renew. Day light robbery!

I have been waiting almost THREE MONTHS…
I have been waiting almost THREE MONTHS for my policy documents, despite three telephone requests. On the first occasion the adviser could not find me on their 'system' despite the fact the premium had been taken by them in May 2025.Once I had been found on their data base, I was told that the policy had been cancelled as it was last years policy! What!! I have never taken out any policy with the Post Office before, and doubt I ever will again.

Went out of their way to reject any help
Went out of their way to reject any help.Rejected any help to stop a leak in the bathroomSent some random company out to check who wouldn't turn the taps on (outright refused) to check where the leak was.Wanted to take photos of a 4 year old's bedroom despite having literally zero connection to the bathroom which I refused.I'd rate them zero if I could, one star is not deserved.

Misleading and inaccurate information
Truly awful company. Second bad experience with them. First with pet insurance. Complaint upheld.Should have known better. Purchased home insurance through Go Compare. Price on there £208.54 plus £19 for legal expenses cover total, £227.54. Bank statement shows they took £238 37. Phoned them and they said that £238 is the price at their end. Refused to take any responsibility that it is their job to ensure that what is being advertised on a comparison website is accurate. They just couldn't grasp that concept. I cancelled the policy immediately. I refuse to trade with someone I feel is untrustworthy. Ever ready to pass the buck. They are choosing to advertise on a comparison website but think that they have no responsibility at all to check whether info on there is correct and they have the nerve to tell the customer to check their details are correct or they won't pay out!

I chose MacBook Pro and Emailed the Claim Handler but he did not replied. However, he replied,“my apologies as the email did not come directly to my mailbox, I did not see it until just a few moments ago this morning” and this is closets to the one you originally had”!I wasn’t going to get a reply if I hadn’t wrote a review on Trustpilot.

Contents renewal increased by 46% - no claims, no changes from last year.Contacted post office and advised that no one in post office could alter cost amount as this is set by underwriters.
A happy customer
AVOID!!!
AVOID!!!Phoned and cancelled an automatic renewal, the agent told me it was cancelled and he sent me an email, saying I’d renewed. The self service centre link or account link doesn’t work!!I’ve now called the bank and blocked the payment!!Don’t go there!!!

As mentioned by other users
As mentioned by other users. Their system cannot cope with the number of users. They auto renewed my policy, I struggled to get into their log in page for 20 minutes, after that I realised that there was no cancel and refund option, that Id need to call them but they weren't open. This kind of anxiety causing tactic to take peoples money makes me sick to my core and the reason I won't be using them again.

Awful website, awful complaints handling
The website wouldn’t let me log in (even though my details are saved on a password manager, so were definitely correct). Then it wouldn’t let me reset my password - it got stuck in a loop of password incorrect > cannot reset password > password already in use. The customer service person admitted that this was a known fault. I raised a complaint about this and it took weeks and weeks to get a response. I’d stay well clear of- their systems are not fit for purpose.

I wish I read the reviews first
I wish I read the reviews first. I signed up for post office home insurance in January 2025 & paid first premium by card. I set up the direct debit through Premium Credit but a few days after the 2nd payment was due I had a letter saying they couldn't take the money because my DD had been cancelled (not by me). They wanted £25 extra for missed payment. I paid this & was assured the DD was reinstated in time for the 3rd payment. It wasn't because I got an identical letter. I've since cancelled and gone elsewhere. It is a shambles!

Awful - Avoid
Awful, please avoid for your own sake. I’ve been waiting 3 months for a basic response in relation to some building work and they promise a call back but never do. Managers refuse to speak to you and hide behind front line staff, who just say they are passing every enquiry to the underwriter then don’t respond. Will be cancelling my policy and getting a full refund.

Fraudsters that don’t follow the terms and conditions
They are a fraud and I shall take all the necessary steps to have their licence revoked. In 2022 I bought a home insurance with them and I selected NOT RENEWABLE. Since then they’ve taken more than 670 pounds from my credit card and I cannot get it back. Lloyd’s bank failed to ask for the credit card authorisation and post office enjoyed money from me. They went against the terms and conditions of our agreement and took money fraudulently. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM ANYTHING!

ABYSMAL:
ABYSMAL:Just a scam and blatant fraud, they are perfectly happy to take payment for an insurance cover that do not provide. Sustained storm damage with 90+ mph wind gusts and after weeks of chasing them up, they are attempting to wriggle out of liability.I will proceed with this through the ombudsman. My genuine and sincere advice to all - is to completely AVOID THE POST OFFICE FOR ANY INSURANCE COVER
