Bad services

I am a new member of this Retro Fitness and paid for a three-month membership approximately two weeks ago. Subsequently, on March 14, 2025, the establishment closed without prior notice and remains closed today, March 21, 2025, as of this writing. The establishment only has a paper sign taped to the door that says "closed until further notice." In addition to poor communication between staff and customers, there is no clear way to contact the establishment; the phone numbers do not work. I would like to receive my services properly and without defects. If the establishment cannot do so, I would like a refund as it is not complying with consumer rights. The poor condition of the equipment at this gym has been discussed quite a bit, which is not surprising since many of them do not work, some have a large accumulation of dust inside them. Surely many of the equipment have not been properly cleaned or maintained for a long time, or worse, for years, which is likely the case. Something that supports this is that the gym still has signs posted on the walls about mask use. I mean, they've been there since the pandemic and haven't removed them, woah. Then, in the membership plan, they charge you a yearly "maintenance fee," which seems to me to be one of the biggest excuses just to overcharge you that many gym chains in the US use. This gym is a living example that the money you pay isn't used to improve the gym or whatever they should generally do, right? Many companies don't care about their customers; they only see them as a source of income. The gym in general is a disaster. The bathrooms are dirty, sometimes there's no soap, and there's even a cable plugged into an outlet that's literally next to a handwashing liquid (I don't know how safe that is). There's no organization around the weights. People don't care about organizing their workout gear, whether it's weights or weight plates, and the workers don't care either. Sometimes you find bars that have been sitting in the same place for a day in a corner because no one has put them back. People also don't care after doing a set, e.g., they drop the weight on the machine heavily unnecessarily. In conclusion, one of the worst gyms in the Bronx in every way mentioned in this review, even more than those mentioned. If you're thinking of signing up for a favor and don't do it, you'll save yourself a lot of headaches; there are better gyms than this one in the area.

Horrific

Horrific. These guys have no concept of customer service. There are 1000s of better options out there.
