Great buyer protection and communication in the event of problems. Seller fees have gone up in recent years unfortunately. But overall Reverb is my preferred channel for buying and selling.

Found my new to me amp for a great price with awesome communication and shipping … great first time experience !
I have been a Reverb seller/buyer for about 10 years now. I never had any problems and remember the support being easy to contact and great to deal with. I sole a piece of equipment recently and before the payment was released I added a new bank account. I also doubled it up with two support chats telling them to make sure to send it to the new account (this was all prior to the money being released). Well, they sent it to the closed account even thoug I was assured they would not. OK, not the end of the world. The bank sent me an email saying that the money had been returned to Reverb. It has been weeks and after many attempts to contact support, I just get responses back like "someone is taking care of it, you will hear from us withinn 24/48 hours". This has now been going on for weeks. Recent chat attempts have ended with the agent just ending the chat with the same canned response. The seller got the item a long time ago and even posted positive feedback. I really don't think I will ever see my money at this point. I am shocked and dismayed as Reverb at one time was so great. I never thought they would treat musicians like this and absolutely never thought my payments were not safe. They are not. Never selling on Reverb again., Seller beware..
Always a good experience!
Excellent prices and selection on Reverb and they are keeping the scammers off the site when you report their activity. I have purchased 16 guitars from Reverb and all have been good purchases. No complaints. I enjoy the site and browse daily not only does it have excellent guitar deals it's educational. I see things and learn about models I never knew existed.
My experience has been seemingly easy with all purchases. Simple instructions and quick delivery of all items.
🫡👍🏻Well first of all reverb is an excellent place to find new & used gear at fantastic prices!👍🏻😎👌🏻 I'm very thankful for my purchases on reverb that is certainly for very very very sure!!!👌🏻😌🖖🏻
I used to like Reverb. I have bought and sold basses on the platform, sold accessories, and over the past couple of years, started selling onboard bass preamps that I make myself. Haven't had a single issue with anything I've sold, thank goodness.BUT....I am active on Reddit because I have started to build and resell pedals too, and I am starting to rethink that move due to what I have been reading concerning other builders' and sellers' experience.Over the past few years, Reverb has changed hands. Originally I believe they were started by Chicago Music Exchange, and for a while I think Etsy owned them. Now I hear that some venture capital firm has bought them. Not positive. What I know for sure is that the quality of their customer service has been steadily declining. Here's a recent example from my own experience. Before I buy anything, I check to see that the seller has a good reputation, and has been on the platform for a while. Although that does not necessarily guarantee a good experience, it's a good place to start. So, I saw a bass I had been looking for but it was for sale by a seller in Thailand. He had been on Reverb for several years, and had great feedback. The bass was rated as Excellent, so I bought it.When I unpacked it, I found it had a huge scratch on the back of the neck, which according to Reverb's standards should have qualified it as VG, not Excellent. It was also evident that the seller knew of the scratch because he took closeup pics of every aspect of the bass EXCEPT for the back of the neck.I wanted a price adjustment but the seller refused to take responsibility. I filed a dispute with Reverb, but since he dealt only with PayPal, Reverb claimed they had no leverage to bring him to the table and told me to take it up with PayPal. Paypal told me to take it up with AmEx, the card I used through PP to pay for the bass in the first place. So, I had to explain the whole thing, first to PP, and then to AmEx. Reverb, PP, and AmEx all took my side, with AmEx telling me that I was under no obligation to return the bass.Once the dispute was resolved in my favor, then the seller insisted that, according to PP's rules, I needed to pay for the return.I had to explain to him that I bought the bass under Reverb's rules, not PP's which meant that in cases where the item is "not as described" the seller is responsible for return shipping. The cheapest shipping I could find was over $1000 (DHL). The cost of the repair was estimated at around $500 (the neck would have to be stripped and repainted after the scratch was repaired). Based on what other similar basses in VG condition should cost, I asked for, and received, a $1000 reduction off the price ($500 for the repair, $500 for the EXC to VG reduction), to which the seller agreed.Reverb did almost nothing to help me resolve this, and I feel that the outcome would have been a LOT different if I had not used AmEx for the purchase. The whole thing took weeks to resolve, but the neck has been sent out for repair, so hopefully all will end well. For me, the moral of the story is not to depend on Reverb customer service to solve any issues for me if they develop.I firmly believe that if the transaction had occurred on eBay, I would have had a solution weeks earlier.
I really enjoy buying and selling off this website, make interacting with musician easy, and wide range of gear from used, new to custom made! Thank you reverb, you made music more exiting!
Good selection of gear on sale but the search is terrible (defaults to worldwide sellers, sort order is ruined by Reverb Bump, can't sort by proximity as it doesn't understand UK postcodes). Gear is often overpriced compared to other platforms like eBay, so it hangs around for months. Well known as a target for scammers, although this shouldn't be a problem if you choose local pickup.
This is the biggest advancement in guitar since it became electric. Absolutely love this product.
Reverb is IT
Fantastic !!!!
I feel a got a great guitar at a fair price. It was packed very well, and as described.
I have been buying through Reverb for several years and it has never disappointed me. Sooner or later everything is available, surprisingly good prices can be achieved. The condition of the purchased and delivered products corresponds to the description, more reliable than buying online from merchants.
The entire site is infested with fake fraudulent items and nothing is seemingly done about it. The examples below, Same guitar same photos sold from different parts of the world. I almost bought one of these fraudulent items, but Reverb does not remove them.Examples: Switchmaster ES5. Available from 5 different countries . Exactly the same guitar. Exactly the same photos. Give me a break.
Grateful for Reverb and the selling Reverb Community..
Reverb is an AWESOME site! Great gear, and from the standpoint of how well this, my first time dealing here went, i gotta say "i'm Hooked!". Dave of "Dave's Gear Bazaar" was a Super guy to deal with, and an exemplary member of the Reverb community. Reverb kept me fully informed of where everything stood, too. if you haven't used the "Reverb" site, You're limiting your possibilities!
Love reverb. Simply the best place to go for new and used musical gear. Competitive pricing, trustworthy sellers, and user reviews make it nearly perfect.
Super Merci !🙏
