Zero Customer Service

Beware of dealing with these businesses. You will receive zero customer service if you have any issues whatsoever so ever. All you get is an email asking you to submit “a ticket” for whatever issue you have. No one ever gets back to you except for another email stating they received your “ticket”. I tried cancelling by an order I made by mistake by phone 5 minutes after submitting it. It shipped anyway. It took me weeks and multiple “tickets” to get an RMA for a simple return. After I shipped it back, it took multiple “tickets” and email threats to finally receive a $100 refund. You will never speak to a customer rep. You will only told to submit ticket after ticket.

Bought some laminate for a project at…

Bought some laminate for a project at work. The only reason I went with this vendor is that the laminate that was spec'd by the designer wasnt readily available from my local, trusted vendor. After placing the order, I got a seperate email with a CCA form asking me to authorize an additional charge of 21 dollars for a laminate box to ship my materials in, not uncommon and I figured their website just didn't automatically calculate a special handling unit for them, so I authorized the charge. I then emailed asking for tracking info 8 times all of which netted me an automated reply stating that my service ticket had been received, but no further info was ever provided. I DID receive the material, however, shortly thereafter my credit card was used for fraudulent transactions with Microsoft, could be a coincidence, but something tells me that CCA form for the laminate box translated into a shopping spree for someone at The Builders Area.

SHUT EM DOWN!!

Just don't waste your money with this company! Within 5 minutes of placing my order with them I realized I bought the wrong item and needed to change it, I immiediately emailed them to change my order and they did respond within 20 minutes, however, they told me they could not change the order because it was already shipping (yah okay...)now there was going to be a 20% restocking fee and I would need to pay for return shipping, which means I would get less than half of my money back! And all I wanted to do was change it to a different item!!!

Waste of time and money

Waste of time and money. I am disputing charges with Paypal to get my money back. They have set my project back 2 weeks, because they are unreachable in every way.

Buyer Beware!

I'm a procurement specialist in a large organization. I purchase millions of dollars in goods and services every year. BulidersArea.com aka TheBuildersSupply.com has the worst customer service I have ever experienced.I ordered six Hart & Cooley brand HVAC vents and dampers. Hart & Cooley is a legitimate and well regarded manufacturer of such products. I suspect the products I received are counterfeit. The products I received were bent, racked, the dampers don't fit the vents, didn't work as they should. I immediately emailed builders supply to return these products and included photos showing the product deficiencies. After two weeks, multiple emails, and numerous phone calls I still haven't been given a return materials authorization. I've been told I have to be patient and wait another week to return the materials. Given the photos I provided a decent vendor would have provided a return materials authorization within hours or days, not three weeks!Bad products, zero follow-up, poor customer service. It's a pity I can't give them a negative or zero rating.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE! I ordered an astrigal weather stripping. 4 pieces of aluminum and 2 pieces of rubber all at 84". I received the 4 - 84" pieces of aluminum and 1 piece of rubber at 36". After multiple phone calls and at their request sending them pictures of what I received and in the original packaging I have only got the run around from them. The 4 pieces of aluminum are useless without the 2 pieces of rubber wasting $120. on this order. My gut told me something was wrong with this company when I heard roosters when speaking with them on the phone. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SHAM OF A COMPANY!!!

This place is a scam!

This place is a scam, the people that run it are MORONS! They obviously try really hard to keep their site out of google places so they don't get bad reviews...as a google guide I will add it for them.I ordered an item, and it never showed up. I talked to support about it and they tried to blame this on me. Eventually I got through to them that they were in the wrong and needed to do something about it. They said they would get back to me, but never did.As a result, I had to complain to MasterCard and file a chargeback for the money I spent, as I had received nothing, and they were not going to refund me. MasterCard agreed and returned my money. MasterCard gave them 90 days to provide a reason why I owed them money, but they did not respond.6 months later these morons send me a letter from a collection agency claiming I owe $72, plus some fake $20 fee. They have NO LEGAL RIGHT to send such a letter, I do not owe them anything, and they certainly cannot charge me extra fees without my permission! I told the collection agency to shove it where the sun don't shine and haven't heard back. They know they have no legal way to collect or do anything about it. The idea of involving a collection agency over $72 is just plain stupid and shows complete business ignorance. To call these morons SLEEZY would be a compliment. They have multiple website that hide behind each other, "Buliders Area", "Security Locking", and others. Clearly some kind of scam going on here. Surely actual builders and contractors do not order anything from these morons with this kind of service!

Bad way to do business

Avoid this company. Despite, not finding any reviews on the place, the price of my product (a safe) was too good to beat, so I placed an order on a Friday. By Tuesday I had not received any correspondence regarding my order, so I called the 800 number on the website. It took me three tries (during the posted business hours) to finally get a hold of someone, and when I spoke to someone, she couldn't find details on my order and said she would call me back--and never did! So I called again on Wednesday and Thursday, leaving messages both times. Never got a call back. I finally got a hold of the same person on Friday (It seems they only have one person to answer the phone); this time though they said a new story that I would need a shipping quote before they would ship my order. The website said free shipping on items over $500, so I was perplexed that they quoted me $300 for shipping. I cancelled the order. It was just a bad way to do business. I bet if I hadn't had ever called, nothing would have happened.
