I closed with Stewart Title company on…
I closed with Stewart Title company on September 30, 2025. I advice others that if you go with Stewart title company, make sure you read all the documents before signing. They added in a bundle of different fees even for things that they did not perform. Apparently, I was credited $780 for calendar year 2025 taxes that was prorated. Annual taxes is not prorated so now I am stuck with the taxes for the entire year of 2025 that is almost $ 1700. I have possession of the property from October to December which is 1/4 of this year. This was never disclosed to me during closing that I would received a tax bill for the entire year. The builder credit was 4% of the home cost, and 2% to buy down the interest rate, at closing, the document showed the 4% was $2000 short which would have cover the taxes for the entire you. In addition, I had to bring over $6000. Sometimes, small companies are better to get financed throught but I would definitely nor recommend Stewart title company. Do your research and asked more questions so you don't get screwed like I did

We had the pleasure of dealing with…Malcolm
We had the pleasure of dealing with Malcolm during our year long process, very complicated and numerous issues, of having this resolved with the Council and whilst having this happen did diminish the joy on the purchase of our new property, without Malcolm’s assistance and having Stewart Title Insurance in place this would have been so much more stressful. I now recommend getting Title Insurance to everyone I know, it has been an absolute lifesaver for our family.

Best decision
Best decision. We were totally oblivious about this. Thanks to Linda, who explained everything so clearly and honestly, we added this. Linda was extremely knowledgeable, patient and transparent with the policy and it's restrictions. Very grateful for this amazing service.

Horrible
Horrible! We bought Title Insurance when we bought our house. Came to find out there was an issue with the floor in our family room & the exterior walls. Had a structial engineer come in to inspect the issue. He asked if we purchased Title Insurance, our response was YES WE DID! We also had other contracts in for estimate & they also said it should be covered by Title Insurance. We submitted all the information to Stewart Title Insurance, come to find out as usual they like to take & pocket your money, but refuse your claim so they don't have to help! This company is a scam & will never waist money on this next time we buy a house again. We Google the company & for other reviews just like ours! Title insurance is a waste of money.

I assume my mortgage when I divorce and…
I assumed my mortgage when I divorced and paid half of the value of my property to my ex husband, a few years later I pay off the mortgage and realized my ex husband was in the title, I called Wells Fargo and they told me that because I pay off the mortgage they couldn't help me. I called Stewart company and they told me they were going to call me back and instead they block me. Luckily my ex husband helped me to transfer the property on my name. This company caused me so much destress and problems and they were never willing to fix the mistakes they did. I do not recommend this company.

Stewart Title in Elko not recommended
Stewart Title in Elko was completely uncommunicative about a possible deed problem during escrow, despite requests for specific updates about a possible known issue. On the last day before escrow was supposed to close they finally sent note to real estate agent that there was going to be a problem with the deed/title/probate, after 6 weeks of waiting with virtually no updates for the final 4 weeks. The reception person also didn't take notes for the officer when documents were handed over in person, resulting in unnecessary confusion later. These people must think they are only there to rubber stamp on properties that have no issues.
