Spice House has lost it's way.

I have used Spice House for years but since they were bought by a couple of 20 something MBA types the quality has gone down and prices have gone up. My latest order was totally FUBARed. I ordered $100 worth of spices and paid extra for UPS shipping. In the past the Post Office took three weeks to get the package delivered. They gave it to the Post Office but still charged me for UPS. When I called and complained they said they'd credit me for the UPS charge and also make sure that it was via sent UPS.The spices were supposed to arrive today but never did. My credit card was still charged for UPS shipping. When I called Spice House again they said they sent it by the Post Office and it was on the truck. When I asked what they were going to do about not sending it by UPS they said they couldn't do anything. I told them to cancel they order and they hung up. I checked my credit card and the charge is still there.I'm disputing the charge and never using Spice house again.

Spoiled spices - company won’t stand behind product. I opened a sealed package and received…

I opened a sealed package and received spoiled cloves. Although the Penzey’s folks could see from their computer that I had been a long time customer and had the spice in the original packaging, I must have paid cash for that transaction, and had no receipt. They claimed they would have stood behind the product if I had paid with a credit card, and they had a record on their computer, but I was discriminated against since I had paid with cash. Last time I checked, cash was still legal in the US. I contacted the store directly, and their customer service dept. All I wanted was an unspoiled pack of cloves. They politely and relentlessly refused to give me one. They also claimed their computer couldn’t track packaging lot numbers so they had zero interest from a quality control perspective. Most manufacturers want to know that sort of thing. Despite a 20 plus year positive relationship with this company, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I try to stand behind the smaller businesses. When this was a small shop in Milwaukee, a problem like this never would have happened, because you could smell the spices beforehand in actual jars where they scoped you a bag or jar. Now this is a giant corporation that only sells packaged spices like Walmart. The difference is Walmart stands behind their products, and would have given me a replacement even if I had paid cash.

Ground ginger spice did not work for me.

I disliked the odor of this spice. I discarded all of it. I sent this review to Spice House. They have not posted it.
