I ordered a death certificate. Within 30 minutes I found the original and no longer needed it. They pre-charged my account $84. By the time I found a good phone number for them almost an hour had passed. I got them on the phone and they very sweetly said, "I'm so glad you found it and I would be happy to cancel that order for you." It took a couple minutes and that was it. THEN, I received the email stating my order had been cancelled. But then I read it and it said they were only refunding $29 and that $55 was non-refundable. My application from them showed the death cert was only $20, and $17,50 IF I wanted to expedite the order. Then I looked at my bank account and they charged me $84. There was NOWHERE on their website that said there was a $55 charge for anything.

Horrible experience, total ripoff
Horrible experience. I was trying to get a birth certificate for my husband who is now handicapped and needed VA assistance. Their website is deceptive and give you the impression they will get your birth certificate, ship it to you, and expedite the process. Yesterday I received a package that I thought was the birth certificate. Not so. It was a folder containing a request form from his birth state. A form that was readily AVAILABLE online. They charged me $48 for nothing. This did not even cover the state fee of $25. I sent an email requesting a refund and so far have received no response. I will be filing a complaint with my State Attorney General next.

This site is a complete scam, I requested my birth certificate in order to help get my marriage certificate. Never received it. I ended up going to NYC to retrieve it in person. When i asked for a refund. I was emailed numerous times that it was on its way. Then told me my bank was the issue. So i never received my money. Then this site flagged my review and removed my remarks because I also added that this site sells your information to 3rd parties and companies they're connected to. So have your info scrubbed off.

Straight up garbage.
Just like everybody has said, these guys are a total waste of time and money. My wife has a habit of doing things without any research, as a result they were paid $80 to send me a PDF. Now over a month late, I have been sent all my paperwork back with a letter from the state. Now I have to pay $25 to the state to get my birth certificate.

DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE!!! THEY ARE A TOTAL SCAM!They will take your money and send you excuses for why they cannot send your documents. They took my money then sent me emails stating they could not process my request because the name on the birth certificate did not match the name on my drivers license. DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE? When I tried to explain that my last name changed due to marriage over 55 years ago, they just sent another email stating that the names were different. TOTAL SCAM! BEWARE!

Absolute rip off! I thought I was paying $47 dollars for a copy of my birth certificate but instead I was given an application to fill out and then send and process on my own!! So I paid $47 to download a public form (face palm)Sure, this could have been avoided had I read terms and conditions in detail but their website is extremely misleading!YOU'RE BETTER OFF DOING EVERYTHING ON YOUR OWN. DON'T GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!

Based on my experience, it is my opinion that this company is a fraudulent organization that charges around $50.00 for a form that can be obtained on any State's website.I recommend avoiding them at all cost, and reporting them to your bank if they have already charged you and will not offer a refund.

DO NOT USE VITAL RECORDS ONLINE, they are a total rip off. You can get your birth certificate or any other legal paperwork thru your state website for $25.00. All these guys do is sell you the form (for $47.00) which you can download for free off the state website. Then these guys charge you another $50 to get your paperwork. So you end up paying $100.00 for your paperwork that should only cost your $25.00. PLEASE DO NOT USE VITAL RECORDS ONLINE. They are a total rip off.

I paid $47.00 under the impression that I would receive my authorized birth certificate. Instead, I received an application to mail out requesting I send a check for an additional $50.00+ $25.00= $75.00. That’s a total of $122.00, outrageous!! I can download the same application online for FREE or even walk into the county clerks office and receive my birth certificate same day for a total of $28.00. This is not the service i requested. I want a refund!Edit: At the time of writing this review I also emailed Vitalrecords requesting a refund and they refused. I ended up going to the clerks office and obtaining my birth certificate same day (20 min process) for $28.
