They sold my wife a lemon
They sold my wife a lemon. On day three after purchasing a vehicle (a 2012 Kia Sedona), after charging a phone ALL of the dash lights came on and the car would not start. A mechanic friend told us that the battery terminals were incorrectly labeled, and we contacted Carhop to resolve the issue. The instance could not be recreated by the mechanics, so WITHOUT TESTING FOR ANY ISSUES, the car was returned to us as a fluke issue. Now, a few weeks later… we went on a short road trip to Wyoming, and on our way home, thinking that we had a solid vehicle, we stopped, (again my phone was being charged, we hadn’t connected the two issues- yet), as we stopped in the Wendy’s drive thru in Cheyenne, the car dash lights AGAIN STARTED FLASHING and the car died in the Wendy’s drive thru. We were able to get it limped out of the drive thru by Gerry-rigging the car into gear and getting it to a safer parking spot. Now, with me in my wheelchair, two of our dogs, and the broke down car STRANDED IN CHEYENNE WYOMING… FAR ENOUGH FROM HOME IT WS DIFFICULT TO FIND SOMEONE TO RESCUE US ON A SUNDAY. Carhop’s answer now… not their problem. What the actually heck???? Are you for serious??? It IS your problem and I would suggest that ZERO people trust this organization at putting you into a safe vehicle. Sure the car can be towed by our roadside assistance insurance, but that does NOT help me as I would have been unable to get into a tow truck and our dogs would not have been welcome (even though one was my service dog, doesn’t help me get into the truck). So no what, Carhop? Not the first instance I have heard of someone getting a lemon from you, unfortunately you prey on victims of hard credit scores and post success stories if putting people into pieces of crud vehicles. This USMC Veteran will use my voice loudly to ensure people are aware of how bad your organization truly disservices it ‘s customers. Wishing we were further away from the purchase of our home that our credit scores were better, I could have directed her to a much better organization.

Not even a full star!
Not even a full star!! Buying the vehicle I guess was worth 1 star. They told me everything I wanted to hear. Morgan is the shop "manager" and told me when I bought the vehicle she would find a shop near where I was moving to just in case something went wrong with the car. It did, and she never found a shop. She told me to find a shop and they would see if they would use the car hop parts. I was originally told what went out was covered and went back and forth with Car Hop and the shop from June- the end of Aug (I told them about the issue in May 2025.) In August, that part wasn't covered all of a sudden. As a single mom I couldn't fix it right away, and now my transmission is out and they're saying the warranty won't cover that because of the other part that hasn't been fixed yet! The only thing they did for me was offer discounted payments, they failed to mention doing that would ruin my credit though... and it has. Do NOT waste your time and money with them! Maybe after a review, someone with the customer in mind from Car hop might reach out... I'll update if they do, but I seriously doubt it. No help so far, I've given up on Car hop for sure!

Sold me a lemon
Sold me a car, assured no mechanical issues. "We don't let a car drive off a lot with major mechanical issues." Car had a blown head gasket as evidenced by the coolant reservoir being full of motor oil. I returned to the dealership intending to return the vehicle and try and get into something different and more reliable. 2nd salesperson was frankly rude. Would not let me test drive a replacement before committing to a return. How am I supposed to commit just switching to a new vehicle without being able to test drive it? Quote from the second salesperson: "Not every car is seen by a mechanic before we resell it.". I was also told that I could expect different treatment from him then the person who sold me the vehicle. I was treated to a lecture of what to expect when buying a used car as if I haven't bought dozens in the course of my life. He refused to show me a printout of the inventory vehicles available, as my first salesperson had. "I'm not Gigi. My name is Paul. I am Paul. I am not Gigi.". The message there is that you can expect different information depending on which salesperson you talk to. Beware.Update: I was told by the second salesperson that they would honor the warranty and pay for the repair and offered to waive the $250 deductible (generous? Not especially but it was offered.) and I hope to have the vehicle repaired at no additional cost to me. Paul was helpful in facilitating getting into the mechanic. Overall however the attempt to resolve could have been met with more courtesy, and less lecture, especially on a car I've had less than 48 hours.Update #2: mechanic says that a total engine replacement is needed. CarHop may or may not approve the repair.Return to the dealer. They seem to think that CarHop will make good on the warranty but there is no guarantee that at this point. At a minimum I will be without a vehicle for another week and Miss work, that's if they can find an engine. Meanwhile that same salesperson basically offered me the option of two vehicles, a Jeep Patriot or a Dodge Journey, neither of which is the type of vehicle that I need. And neither which I would be allowed to test drive until I completely returned the car and canceled the existing contract.Finding out that a car needs a total engine replacement within 48 hours of owning it is unacceptable. The treatment I have received since, doubly so. Please exercise discretion when considering purchasing a vehicle from this location. At the moment I am concerned that they simply sell junk at highly inflated prices, and don't expect them to fall all over you with friendly customer service if things go wrong. You will get the cold shoulder.Update #3: the mechanic would not give me a printout for the estimate, saying that it belonged to CarHop. He did however let me take a photo of the screen which I've added. The estimate for the repair is over $10,000. Mind you, this is 48 hours after purchasing the vehicle.

STAY AWAY FROM CARHOP!!!!!
STAY AWAY FROM CARHOP!!!!!. I can't stress this enough the review I saw before writing this one says they will start calling, emailing and harassing you is early as a few hours late on your payment this is 100% true. They won't work with you at all if you are in between jobs or got laid off or anything. They immediately starting harrasing us aboutbthe next payment the day after we just made a payment. We talked to them about just starting a new job and this will be the first payday coming up on Thursday and today they are calling to say they are going to shut off the car because payment is 11 days over due which over a week would be reasonable if we hadn't spoken with them ahead of time to let them know when we would be able to start making payments again. Just because you're a business doesnt mean you have to be heartless.

I have held off on doing this
I have held off on doing this, but . For the love of god stay away from this company. I bought a 2007 Jeep Liberty from them. They are charging me 16000 dollars for a car that is worth 1700 at best. the car I took home the first night. after getting it home. Did not reverse. I had to take that car back the next morning. . The check engine light has come on several times, They sell the cars as is, they do not do, anything to get the cars customer ready I was told that when I called the dealership, My tires had to be replaced I had a blowout on the freeway from a bad tire and almost rolled the car. , windshield wipers bad, Tail lights replaced, Spark plugs replaced. I was in a horrible situation at the time and had to have a car asap I , at the time didn't have a choice. I will also tell you if you are even a few hours late on a payment , the calls and emails start, every single day several times a day. Their staff is extremely unprofessional, I have never in my life got an email from a company titled, YOUR READING MY EMAILS??? excuse me???? I am beyond fed up and stuck in a loan with a car on its last leg. Dont walk, RUN. serioulsly. do your research and dont lock yourself in.

Unethical and Sleazy
Make sure you have a mechanic, a real mechanic not a Carhop employee, inspect any vehicle you are considering purchasing from Carhop. The check engine light came on immediately after leaving the lot. Which means they rest the check engine light so I could test drive it. The suspension on the vehicle was bad and so we're all 4 tires. They will tell you they provide a warranty for their cars. But the warranty doesn't cover what is wrong with the car when you purchase it. They will put a GPS device in the car and not disclose it. When signing the paperwork be sure to read the charges and total cost BEFORE signing. They like to get you to sign it first, then they tell you how much you'll be paying. Carhop is a sleazy and unethical car dealership. They wanted me to pay $16,000 for a vehicle that valued at only $1,400. There are so many dealerships to choose from. Do you research. Otherwise they will have you paying 8 times the value of a car.

If I could give no stars I would
If I could give no stars I would! HORRIBLE! I first got a car from carhop in 2021, it was great, not a problem. I went back when I decided to upgrade as advertised! It was good at first…..I decided to take the car on a road trip. It broke down, the engine, $3919 later, out of pocket I was back on the road with NO help from Carhop. Now the front end is having problems, the alternator is going out, the sunroof doesn’t work, which they didn’t even test! I found out it didn’t work in the car wash! When I contacted the Ft. Collins dealership where I got it, I was told to take it to a shop completely out of my way even though I asked for a local shop number! I’ve already put a ton of money into fixing it and now I have to take more time and money to have it looked at again! Out of pocket! Then pay to have it fixed till I meet the 250 deductible! At this point I have put more money into repairs than I even paid on it. I asked to take back the car and get into something that wasn’t breaking down, I was told no. They’ll take back the car but not give me a replacement!! I will never use CarHop again and I will make sure everyone I know, knows that it’s a rip off!

We bought car through them and 2 hours…
We bought car through them and 2 hours after we had it the check engine light came on. I've been working with them for over a week and they are not responding to me request to have the car fixed.Took the car to my mechanic and it has bad back struts and is misfiring. Which that being said I don't believe that the car inspection was done properly or even done at all. They are giving me the go around and the warranty only covering certain things. The person told me that he did not believe the problem was covered in the warranty package. I would not recommend buying a car for them to anyone.

I had a decent experience the first.
I had a decent experience the first time. Now they aren't any help and their cars are way overpriced and crappy. I've had problems with my car since I got it and put to much money in it already. Check engine come on, wants to overheat, they had bald tires on it. 10/10 would NEVER recommend!!! Horrible

You'll be a victim here not a VIP
I'm the dumb one. I kept holding onto a company that has done nothing for me except sell me crappy cars.Your warranty is lame and your cars are a ripoff. Straight up.you do nothing to the cars you sell to people. Buyers!! be aware you will need hundreds of dollars to constantly maintain and fix the car you buy from these people. Your credit will be tarnished because you won't able to keep up with payments and repairs. Save yourself from heartache and anger and take your business elsewhere. Carhop does not deserve your money or your credit

I was told I was a VIP customer
I was told I was a VIP customer. And so me and my daughter went to get a car. First car had a lot of suspension issues. the passage side seat wouldn't go back only front wards, and the backup camera wasn't working. So, I work 2 jobs and don't have time to be without a car. So, we take it back. I pull in and see my dream car yellow Hummer 3 was dirty didn't care about that. Soon as I pull off the lot water leaking from the roof and the floor was soaked by water coming in threw the floorboards or something. The Ac didn't work either, and a ticking in the dash. So I let them know and the car is in the shop that wed before the 4th of July. Im having to LYFT to work both jobs. I get a call from my family 9pm on the 4th that my father had passed away and My mother needed me to get home. Soi call the car lot to find out how long it would take. And they barely sent the approvals to get the work done So I reach out to the carshop that was doing the work let them know my situation and that they would get it done, so I told them to do an inspection on the car and I will pay for that myself. So, I get a call a week later that wed the car is ready. I get there asked them what I owed them, and they said nothing was owed and that I need to get an oil change before I leave on my trip. I'm like why you wouldn't, just do it why it was here. So, I leave. Sunday before I leave for my trip I get an oil change at the grease monkey and the refused to do my oil change. Because the head gasket is blown, there are metal shavings and coolant in the oil, The Cv axle boot is completely gone, and the gears are exposed like no other. They told me that If I take this car out of town, I will be breaking done and stuck. So, I can't leave out of town at all. Monday, I call and call Carhop no answer all week I just ended up going to work and missed my father's funeral. So I get the car back to car hop and they tell my that its my job to getit fixed that they dont have mechanics on there lot. When I was told the fully inspect there cars. TGhe manager lady seems like she could care less about what I experinced and that It didnt matter the sold me this busted ass Hummer. I work 2 jobs and i bust my ass for my family. At the end of the day they could care less and they grimmie ass sales men know exactly what it was and couldn't even look me in my face. So, I'm telling you that there is no compassion for people any more all these people want is your hard-earned money at any cost to you. So, these people are taken advantage and I'm telling the people there are other places that will take care of you. I was a VIP customer and look what I went thre.

I purchased a 2008 Buick Enclave Last…
I purchased a 2008 Buick Enclave Last week on June 29th and I noticed that the brakes was squeeking really bad, the trunk had problems opening and closing plus I smelled a burning smell in the engine but Matthew told me I had a limit warranty plus I have 7 days to trade it for another vehicle so I noticed this Saturday the car starting running hot with a message saying Transmission running hot engine in idle mode. So I called Auto Tech and told him what happened and he said sounds like the Transmission just blew out and he said he could fix it but he'll have to keep the car for a couple days which I drive for a living so I can not be without a vehicle. I even brought it back to text drive a different car but that Sportage smelled bad inside so I decided to give the Enclave another shot. I can even drive it because it lost power completely today on July 4th. Now I have to take off work to come to Car Hop and either trade this one in for another car or tow this one to a shop and hopefully Car Hop give me a loaner vehicle until Enclave get fixed. I heard bad things about Car Hop but I guess I was desperate. If they don't fix this I will Never recommend this place to Anyone.Respectfully Yours;Mr. Michael Eugene Bully
